This laptop is perfect. No exaggeration at all. I am able to get all of my assignments with the SPSS system completed with no need to worry about my laptop being overloaded or crashing. The light-up keys make it easier to type and work in the dark or when I do not have many lights on in my room. Though I have yet to play any major games on it, the games that I have played work like a charm on this specialized laptop.

I have been looking for a lower priced gaming laptop since Xmas to run my Oculus Quest 2 using rift games. I went through 3 before finally choosing the Nitro 5 (AN517-52-52T3). It was flawless right out of the box. The laptop runs well and for the most part does not get too hot while gaming. The only thing I did extra was install 6gb of ram the day after I bought it, but, it still runs amazingly well with only 8gb.

Great laptop for gaming! Upgraded the RAM to 16 GB but at 8 its ok. Unfortunately theres a hot pixel (white pixel) on the screen which is barely noticeable unless your screen is very dark. The battery goes down very fast I recommend plugging in for gaming and unplugged for browsing the web. Make sure to use the Acer settings to turn on the 80% charge limit so it stops charging at that point to keep the battery healthy.

This laptop is great. Perfect for gaming, fast, and easy to use. Easy to install extra memory.

Is a very nice laptop that runs games pretty well with alright speed

I bought this laptop as an upgrade from my other one as I can't afford to build my own gaming set quite yet. And.... I love it. I am very impressed in everything. Graphics? On high with no dropped fps. Sound? Good enough, but I use a headset anyways. Screen size? Perfect. Everything is worth it, although I do wish you had the availability to change the color on keyboard.

Absolutely love this laptop! Easy to set up. I know this is considered a gaming computer, but I decided to buy it because of its processing speed. I plan to use it for working from home. The software provider recommended certain criteria and this laptop met it all. I love the large screen. The keyboard is very responsive and like the touch. And, the price was so reasonable! I feel I got a great deal on this powerhouse.

Overall a great laptop for me as I can game on it without a problem. Initially I had a little issue with a game or two minimizing at first because of a background security app logon issue, but after a factory reset of the Windows 10 OS, this has yet to reoccur. This laptop came with both Norton for a month and Webroot (supposedly for 3 months, but my digital library was empty), and I chose the Norton. I think I will stick with that one. As I usually stick with MMORPG's and some lightweight Shooters (Destiny 2), the graphics on these are pretty excellent. The computer isn't excessively loud that others around me still can't watch their TV programs while I'm shooting or gaming my way to my heart's content. I also LOVE the face that I can push a button to turn off my touch mouse pad rather than hunt and peck my way through my computer's processes in order to achieve the same thing. I also like the face that the computer's keyboard backlight is touch sensitive rather than on all the time! Save's me from having to figure out how to turn it off/unplugging it when turning off the computer like my other lighted keyboards that I have. This computer would have gotten 5 stars from me, if it weren't for the fact that I had to do a factory reset of the Windows 10 2 to 3 weeks in to fix what never should have been a problem in the first place? But otherwise...I would recommend this to a friend.

I added 8gb’s of ram and added the same model of M2 ssd card and used Intel optane memory software to stripe it (RAID0). The OS windows was able to stay and I used AOMEI partition free version to fix the unallocated space. Also I added a 2.5” ssd hardrive as a spare. This laptop is very moddable. Fast and quiet. I might get another one for myself since this one was for my son.

This laptop is great. It has really good graphics and is easy to set up. The only downfall of this is, you cannot change the keyboard color. The backlight keyboard can only be red but, other than that it's great for gamers and for college students.

I love my laptop good old reliable gateway acer. Most stable can handle any game graphics are amazing sound excellent on and off my headset. great for watching movies. I am writing this review with it right now love the back lit keyboard. Built in mouse responds immediately exactly what you need when you're in battle.

I've had this laptop for almost 2 years now and ts the best investment. It's fast I can play any game I want with medium or high settings with ease. it's fast I can stream videos well and browse the web. the webcam does suck butt but it works I don't use it so it doesn't bother me and had a lot of space.

Computer is excellent so far. The red backlight for the keyboard matches the computer perfectly. And I love how big the screen is. It is perfect for my school work and the minor gaming that I do with my husband

All the reviews I see say it doesn’t have rgb. You have to press the nitro key on the top right of the keyboard and it gives you full customization of the rgb keyboard. Great laptop for the price. Can run WoW with ultra settings with very high framerates

This is the BEST laptop I've ever had! I have absolutely NO complaints about it! I can play any of my new and old games. The graphics for Photoshop are AWESOME! Watching movies on it is a blast! This laptop is a MUST BUY!!! Also, the sales clerk at geek squad who sold it to me was AWESOME! I think she deserves a promotion for being SOOO COOL!!!!

I was limping along with an older Toshiba i7, and this Nitro 5 has made my computing life a pleasure again! The Toshiba served me well, but it just wasn't keeping up any more. This baby does everything *so* much faster, startup, app launch, everything. Cold boot in under 10 secs!? (Thank you, Sir, may I have another!) It has made a tremendous difference for work, and has improved my gaming life even more. I'm not playing any AAA titles, but WoW, Grim Dawn, Titan Quest, et al. are all running beautiful and smooth at highest settings, and without straining this machine's capabilities. I will need a storage upgrade sooner than expected, but that's a feature of combining work & play, not a diss against this machine. I also confirmed it has a solid 5-hour battery, from 100-20% while doing ordinary work tasks, which seems good for a machine of this power (and pretty much as advertised.) I also have no concerns about the build quality (thus far), even though some reviews I saw made that a big issue. KB feels great, and what flex it has in the screen or body is a non-issue for me. I would recommend this to anyone wants an easy entry into a better time with work or gaming.

I love my laptop, I did sooo much homework on which laptop to get because I am a gamer I play world of Warcraft among other games and I’ve never seen WoW run so fast and have such great graphics. I love everything about my laptop though I am not the brightest but it was very easy to set up because it actually talks you through it. I love it!

I bought this laptop for the sole purpose of being able to game when I'm on work trips. I doubled the RAM to 32gb and it's doing great. I'll likely add another hard drive. It runs smooth. The fan is a bit noisy when it's using the GPU heavily.

Bought two of these for college kids. Plenty powerful with nice big screen. Had some issues with the sound drivers after Windows updates. Had to download them from the Acer site and install them a couple of times. Showed the kids how to re-install them if needed. Not really a functional issue, more of a problem with Microsoft.

With little kids running around, my old gaming desktop phased out into dust and obscurity. The only way to return to Azeroth would have to be a laptop for space and child access reasons. I was hesitant about this idea. My husband was skeptical. I've had this laptop a few weeks now and love it! Playing World of Warcraft BFA almost every day NO problem! It plays as good as a moderate gaming desktop. No issues with world bosses or raids, no reducing the default settings at all. I frequently run discord in the background too. I've read reviews that say the display is mediocre but to me its no different from my decent desktop monitor. If you're on the fence about it, rest assured! I'm now almost fighting over it with my Husband who has a only slightly aged gaming desktop up and running. Lol
