I’m really impressed with the Acer Nitro V ANV15-41-R2Y3 gaming laptop. The 15.6" Full HD 144Hz display is smooth and vibrant, perfect for both gaming and everyday use. The AMD Ryzen 5 7535HS paired with the GeForce RTX 4050 handles games and multitasking effortlessly, and 16GB DDR5 RAM keeps everything running fast without lag. The 512GB SSD provides plenty of storage for games and apps, and the laptop boots up almost instantly. I also love the sleek Obsidian Black design it looks premium and feels solid. Overall, excellent performance and value for a gaming laptop in this range!

This laptop is able to run every game out there, maybe not on high settings but it can run every game out there. The monitor having a high refresh rate is perfect for competitive FPS players. The CPU could be a little better, you’d be better served with a Ryzen 7. While the gpu is current gen, the 4050 will have trouble a few years down the road keeping up with games. A 4060 would be a lot better to future proof yourself for a few more years. If you can shell out an extra $300 and get a laptop with a Ryzen 7 and a 4060 or even better a 4070 please do. You’ll be happy you did when you’re playing all your games at high settings. These components can not be upgraded in the future because they’re soldered onto the motherboard. The max upgrades you can make are swapping out the RAM with 32GB DDR5 4800 and increasing the storage capacity with the additional m.2 slots available. This laptop is not a good deal at full price. There are better options out there at this price range but it is a good deal at $600-850. Do not buy this laptop at full price. Only buy it if it’s on sale.

    Mid-Level Gaming performance in a mid-Level-size

During the unboxing, I was pleasantly surprised to find not only the laptop, but an included laptop zippered storage sleeve. There was also a 135-Watt non-Acer-branded charger and the usual smattering of minimal product, warranty, and safety documentation. This Acer laptop is well positioned as a mid-level gaming device with a 15.5” IPS screen that has a fast 144Hz refresh rate driven by an NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4050 graphics engine, a Ryzen 5 7535HS processor, 16 GB of ram and a ridiculously meager 0.5 TB of storage. Considering that the target audience for this type of laptop is gamers, 500 GB is simply too small for the average gamer. With many games currently ranging in size from 20-100+ GB, it may be worth investing in an additional drive in the second internal storage slot, replacing the built-in SSD with a larger model or adding a portable external storage drive. Connections include three USB-A version 3.2, one USB-C version 4 (with only one A and one C connection capable of charging), one HDMI version 2.1, one gigabit Ethernet and one headphone/microphone jack. There is also a Kensington security slot provided. WIFI 6 and Bluetooth 5.1 provide the wireless connectivity. Rounding out the hardware, is a very good, backlit keyboard with a numbers section and a video camera that is limited to 720P. The outer shell of this laptop is made with a smooth plastic that isn’t too special or too sturdy, but gets the job done. Upon booting up, the laptop greets with a smooth Windows 11 Home on-boarding flow, that after a few rebooting cycles and updating, provided an average boot up time of about 13 seconds, which is respectable. The noise level is fairly low under low computing tasks, however as soon as any higher load program, or game is started, the fans ramp up fairly noisily and then ramp up and down like wind through the trees while playing, and for a while after the program or game is terminated. The good news, is that those high fan speeds, increase airflow sufficiently enough to allow for effective GPU and CPU cooling. It might (well always) be advisable to keep your support area under the laptop free of soft, air-blocking material, like bedding and pillows. The game performance seems to reflect the selection of components utilized. I tested with the new, first-person shooter game, The Finals, as well as Rocket League. The Finals is known as a more graphics-intensive game, requiring higher level GPU performance and frame rates. With the monitor’s maximum refresh rate being 144hz, we would hope to get an FPS metric of around 144. Upon testing The Finals on 4 different graphics levels, I found the following FPS results: A setting of “Low” yielded 80 FPS, “Medium” yielded 80 FPS, “High” yielded 67 FPS, and “Epic” squeaked out 55 FPS. This type of performance is to be expected of a mid-level computer such as this. A frame rate of 60 FPS is the minimum for an enjoyable experience, so as long as you keep the settings below High, you should have a smooth-gaming experience with that particular game. While testing Rocket League, an average-intensity, less stressful-to-the-system-tasking game, I tested three different preset video settings and found the following: for “Performance”- 250 FPS, “Regular”- 222 FPS and “High”- 150 FPS. These statistics show that this laptop could handle smaller graphical load games with ease, taking full advantage of the 144 Hz monitor refresh rate. I also tested the system benchmarks with Cinebench 2024, and it gave a CPU score of 495 which is on the lower end compared to desktop level CPU counterparts. For example, it performed a smidge below the Apple M1 chip which has 509, and performed better than the 12th Gen Intel core I7 1280p. For the GPU test, it received a score of 6799 which is fairly competitive, performing better than the RTX 2070 SUPER which had a score of 6306. Overall, I would say that this laptop is a little underwhelming, with a 7th gen Ryzen 5 CPU and a 40’s series Nvidia GPU, I expected and hoped that the performance would be a bit more robust. If you are looking for a gaming laptop that will run low intensity games, this will work for you. But if you have a bit more coin to spend, consider a model in this series that has a faster processor, as the performance measurements seem to indicate that the performance pinch-point is with the middle-performance/priced processor.

The Acer Nitro V 15 is a solid budget gaming laptop that gives you a lot of performance for the price. With options like the Intel i7 or AMD Ryzen 5 paired with an RTX 4050, you can run most modern games at 1080p with smooth frame rates. It’s not top-tier, but for casual or even mid-level gamers, it gets the job done. The design is clean and simple—nothing too flashy—but it still looks nice. The keyboard is comfortable, and the screen has a fast 144Hz refresh rate, which is great for gaming. The downside is the screen isn’t super bright, and the colors aren’t super vibrant, so it’s not the best for creative work like photo or video editing. Thermals are decent, though the fans do get loud under load. The laptop stays cool enough, and the battery life is better than expected for a gaming laptop—around 5 to 6 hours with light use. Pros: • Great performance for the price • 144Hz display for smooth gameplay • Good battery life • Upgradeable RAM and storage Cons: • Loud fans when gaming • Screen is a bit dim and not very color-accurate • Speakers are just okay Rating: 4/5 If you’re looking for a budget-friendly gaming laptop that can handle most titles without breaking the bank, the Nitro V 15 is a great pick. Just don’t expect high-end screen quality or whisper-quiet operation.

Choosing a laptop these days can be surprisingly tough. At first glance they all seem nearly the same to be, but after a few weeks of use - it's the small features and design elements that really cause a laptop to stand out, or drive me crazy. This Acer Nitro is a pretty good mid-tier gaming laptop, but it does have a few drawbacks. First off, I love the size and portability. The screen is beautiful and the refresh rate is great. Thankfully the lower body of the laptop has just barely enough weight that the lid can be lifted/opened with one hand without tipping over the laptop. For a gamer on the go - this is a pretty good option. Just keep in mind that a 500 gig hard drive is actually rather small these days. Luckily much of my gaming has becoming streaming via Xbox Game Pass. But, for those who want to play the newest PC games at their full specs, this laptop may be a letdown. I would recommend this laptop for those who are more towards the light end of gaming. What I don't like: - No webcam cover. - No SD card reader. - Small Hard drive - Only 1 USB-C port - No RGB Lighting - Mini half-sized arrow keys

The Acer Nitro V offers strong performance with its AMD Ryzen 5 7535HS and RTX 4050 GPU, making it a great choice for gaming and multitasking. The 15.6” 144Hz display is vibrant and smooth, while 16GB of RAM ensures fast responsiveness. It handles most tasks with ease but has average battery life and noticeable fan noise under load. A solid, budget-friendly gaming laptop overall.

I love everything but the battery life. It says battery charge lasts 9 hours but actually only lasts about 1/3 of that. We had the same problem with battery life on our old computer, a Nitro 5. I’ve heard this is common for gaming computers. The graphic's are great, the speed and refresh are very good. Most important my grandson is very happy with all the new updates on the Nitro v15.

Runs really good and smooth, plays everything I give it, mostly fps games but handles it well at high settings, a little noisy but nothing ridiculous or anything a headset will pick up through the mic, has a lot of usb ports so that’s a plus! No problems yet!

I've had this for exactly 1 month and I love everything about this laptop! It runs all of my games smoothly and I love that it has an internal fan, even though it is a little loud. I also have an external fan and haven't had any issues with overheating so far. I plan on using it for streaming on twitch and I know it's powerful enough to handle it! 10/10 recommend! I did think I was getting the one with rgb backlit keyboard but it isn't, it is just backlit. Not a big deal but was a little disappointed.

This laptop turned out to be better than I expected. No problems except for Bluetooth freaking out a couple times. Recent update fixed it. Wish it had a bigger screen though. This machine was critical to deal with several issues and crapping out was not an option. It passed. I'd recommend

Great for the price you're paying. Battery life is average, but that is just the price you pay to have a gaming laptop. Runs large games like Baulders Gate 3 smoothly without too many problems.

Runs very well for price, would still recommend getting an external hard drive. at least 1tb if running heavy powered games with mods. battery life isn't the best but as long as you treat the computer well, it will do the same for you. Definitely buy if questioning. I use mostly for sims and have a TONNNNN of mods and cc (I have a 70 GB mod file)
