Functionally it is awesome, but the placement of where you plug in the cables was an afterthought in the design.

One thing I've always wanted to be is more productive with a laptop. My main PC has 3 monitors so I can work and multitask quite well but on a laptop, it always feels like I'm in a box. MacBook's help with quick and easy swipe shortcuts for accessing virtual desktops but, to me, nothing quite compares to having two or more screens. This little guy is actually larger than the screen for my main laptop right now and does a great job at complementing it.
Setup can vary a little bit depending on what kind of connection you're looking to do. If you have a graphics card or laptop that supports video of USB-C, you're in luck. Plug in the cable and you're off to the races. Nothing else needed. If you're looking to connect something with a more standard HDMI port, you really don't need to do that much more. You'll need to plug the USB-C into a power source (sadly, not included) but then you just plug in the mini HDMI port to your full size HDMI device and that's it. There's a mini HDMI to full size HDMI cable included in the box so no need to get an extra cable.
The screen looks fine. It's not going to win any awards but it works and looks good enough. It's a 16:10 screen at 1920x1200. So pretty similar to a lot of laptop resolutions and aspect ratios. I found the viewing angles to be good enough to have the extra monitor connected to the side without any difficulty seeing. The included speakers might as well not be there. I'd say this about any included speakers with any monitor, but these are pretty weak and that's understandable because of how slim and portable this monitor is.
There's a few menu buttons on the right side of the monitor that let you adjust the picture and pretty standard monitor menu stuff. You can also switch the input to any of the inputs so you can technically have an HDMI device as well as two USB-C devices connected to this at the same time.
The monitor is built pretty well. It doesn't feel cheap at all. But it does feel fragile. I don't think it is, but because of how slim it is, it feels like it would be very easy to accidentally snap somehow. I think some sort of hard shell case would be super useful for carrying this around with you if that's your intended use case. For me, I'm basically just moving it from a couch to a desk and back so I can be careful, but I'm not sure I would trust it in a computer bag without some added padding or protection of some sort.
Also, another thing to keep in mind is the flip out kickstand. It's very sturdy and I like it a lot. I'll be using this monitor exclusively with the kickstand. It isn't loose so you can find the angle you like the best and not worry about it slipping. In order to access the input ports or the menu buttons, the kickstand needs to be moved out of the way. Again, for me, not an issue since the kickstand will always be open while in use. If you want to mount this somewhere (there are 2 mounting screws on the back for this), you can flip the kickstand 180 degrees so it still lays flat on the back of the monitor and stays out of your way.
Overall, I like this little monitor and I think it's doing a good job of making me more productive but allowing me to stretch my legs and pull up a comfy spot on the couch sometimes for a change of scenery instead of being stuck at my desk. The display looks good and does what it says on the tin by being very slim and portable. It's a very good complement to a laptop you want a little more work space with. If it's in your budget, give it a look.

I was hesitant at first when getting this monitor, around $100 for a portable monitor that doesn't have an internal power supply? How good could it possibly be?
It is genuinely surprising how good this monitor is. I've had full blown desktop LCD monitors years ago that weren't as good as this. Add in that it's so lightweight and this is an incredible monitor for any price point. It does weigh about 1.5 lbs, but because of the size the weight is pretty well spread out and feels much lighter.
I plugged it into my macbook air and it turned on right away and it was detected just fine. I've never really looked into portable monitors before so I wasn't holding out hope that it would turn on over just USB-C, but it did! My MBA detected it easily and selected the native resolution without issues.
The visual quality is great, I wouldn't use it as a gaming monitor but to give yourself some extra space while on the go? Definitely and it works great.
I have two gripes they aren't big enough that either would prevent me from recommending this. First being the speakers don't get that loud even at 100% volume. The 2nd is the buttons, ignoring that they're hidden by the stand, they aren't marked and when you press one, the OSD that pops up isn't very helpful, I had to just button smash until I figured out what did what. Again neither are deal breakers. Likely you're connected to a laptop that has built in speakers, which are probably louder. Also how often are you really in your monitors OSD?
If you need an affordable portable monitor that's anything but cheap, this is the one to get. It punches way about it's price point.

Incredibly Versatile!

I didn't realize how versatile this monitor would be. I initially thought I would just use it as a portable monitor that I'd bring with me when away from the home but also find it to be incredibly useful around the house where I can work from the dining table, the couch, and even on the patio and still have the increased productivity of a second screen.
The "power" (pun intended) behind the portability is the fact that just one USB-C cable can both power the display as well as send the display signal, all in one. I use it with my Microsoft laptop and just have to run one cable out to the monitor. The included USB-C cable is about 38" long which offers plenty of flexibility when it comes to positioning it and they also include a mini HDMI to HDMI cable if that works better for your setup.
I have a 32" monitor in my home office where I typically work so I was a bit skeptical of a 16" screen but I was pleasantly surprised. Just having a second screen when you're mainly working on the smaller screen of a laptop has increased my productivity a ton. Being someone who does a lot of writing and research, I can have a second monitor for any articles or sites I'm referencing while being able to write in full-screen on my laptop.
The 16" size is a good balance between being large enough to be useful but also small enough that it can fit inside a bag. It's also almost unbelievably thin at around a half inch thick so it can fit in the laptop compartment of my backpack along with my PC. My only complaint is that I wish it came with a protective cover or sleeve.
One bonus for me was using it with my phone! I'm able to plug it into my iPhone so I can watch YouTube or Netflix while traveling without having to view a small screen.
For around $100, you can use this monitor is SO many ways!

Impressive and more useful than expected

For anyone who is comfortable and used to using multiple monitors in their stationary setup, having a portable monitor like this one from Acer makes working on the go a much easier transition. Even if not for that reason, sometimes it can be useful for troubleshooting and you do not want to lug around a heavy monitor to do so. One of the best benefits of this is how budget friendly it is for what it has to offer.
Now, this is no comparison to an OLED screen, but with the HDR mode turned on it does a decent job. It may not be good enough for photo editing as it does feel a little washed out compared to an OLED, it is good for nearly everything else. The reflections are minimal and the monitor is very usable in daylight. What is nice is that the adjustable stand feels very sturdy. It is nice and stiff and the monitor shows no indication of moving on you during use. The speakers, as expected, are barely usable and should not be considered a feature for this monitor. Mini HDMI is a bit undesirable, but is expected to have such a slim profile. Because it is a monitor, you do have to be careful when transporting it. The screen can suffer a little bit of abuse, but it is not very rigid and can be bent with not much force.
Overall, I am very satisfied with the performance of this portable monitor. There is not a lot more you could ask for when it comes to something like this, and you will be extremely satisfied with what this has to offer.

nice little portable monitor. Works nicely and provides me the abiltity to have 2 screens for my laptop whenever I travel. Wheather for work or vacation. Simply plug it in and away I go.
I used the USB-C with a USB-A adaptor for power - then the Mini HDMI for video out. It also works with just the USB-C port if you have one availalble.
Screen detected at 1900x1200 and displayed great. Was nice and bright for office work. Response times at 6ms is a bit slow for competetive gaming. But casual play is good.
Overall a great little monitor. My only complaint is that I want this for portability. While my backpack is well padded and provided good protection. I would have liked to have some sort of cover or slip for this device. Its not expensive but I have this thing about smudge and scratches on the monitor. Also a small back for the cables.
While USBC is pretty common the micro/mini HDMI is not a typical cable I use. So having a way to keep the screen and cable together would have been nice.
Overal, gets the job done that I have a need for and works well. Price was not bad for the performance.
