Customers are saying
Customers love the Predator Helios Neo 16's performance and graphics capabilities, frequently praising its excellent value for the price. Many appreciate the customizable keyboard and the option to upgrade the RAM. However, some users point out that the battery life could be improved, and the laptop's weight and potential for fan noise are also mentioned as drawbacks.

Fastest laptop I've ever owned...
||Posted . Owned for 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I bought this laptop while out of town because my daughter kept using mine for Roblox. So now we play together. But this laptop is a GREAT spec'd gaming laptop for mid to high range games. I get all 165 frames in Fortnite (which used to be my game of choice when streaming). The IPS display looks AMAZING with all of the colors running on the RTX 4050. I will say I don't know why 16:10 is desirable as most content is created in 16:9 so videos running in an HTML5 format may "flutter" ... Changing the display to 16:9 in Windows fixes this.. But I don't like the 16:10 aspect ratio. Other than that.. VROOOOMMMMMM This thing is FAST!

A little hot and powerful
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This computer works pretty well although the power supply gets pretty hot and the fans are pretty loud. If you could get over this then this is a great one.

Value Gaming Laptop
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.OVERVIEW: The Acer Predator Helios Neo 16 (i5-13500HX RTX 4050) is a feature rich entry level gaming laptop that has its share of assets with a few liabilities. I normally do not use the term “for the money…”, but I find it does accurately fit here, especially when one is able to purchase this laptop on sale. Overall “Good Job” by Acer including all of the stated features in a cost effected end product for those cost conscience users who do not have unlimited funding. On a scale of 1 to 5, I would rate it a solid 4.0. PROS: CPU/GPU: The i5 13th GEN paired with the RTX 4050 certainly gets you into the AAA gaming ballpark, ahhh maybe not front row seats. More than sufficient for most gamers and surely overkill for students. 16” DISPLAY: The WUXGA IPS panel is fairly large and very colorful, better than your average laptop display. A lot of desktop real estate here. Factor in the 165Hz refresh rate, 100% Color Gamut Standard RGB, 3ms Overdrive, G-SYNC, 400nits, and she checks off a lot of boxes. MEMORY: 16GB DDR5 in dual 8GB modules that can be upgraded to 32GB per Acer. The stock memory configuration is just fine for this laptop and a nice upgrade from those units with only 8GB. Yeah, you would need to replace both modules if you want to go the 32GB upgrade route, but at least the modules are not soldered on the motherboard. STORAGE: Well, the fact that this laptop comes with 512GB PCIe Gen 4 SSD is not the “PRO” here. That fact that this laptop has a second NVMe slot makes it a “PRO”. Very simple process, once you get the bottom cover off, for adding and/or cloning another storage SSD. Very sweet indeed! COOLING: The cooling system is top notch with dual metal fin fans, vector heat pipes, and liquid metal thermal grease. Yep, these fans are loud in Turbo Mode or if you manually turn them on MAX. But this cooling system hands-down does its designated job; you can actually watch as the CPU/GPU temps drop. PORTS: More connectivity options available than I have seen for this price point. And the dual Thunderbolt 4 ports with USB Charging is an unexpected bonus. KEYBOARD: Sweet backlit RGB keyboard 4-zone lighting options (if that’s your thing) using Predator Sense. I will also mention the dedicated Predator Sense Key and the dedicated Mode Key that can quickly step you through the different power options. CONS: HEAVY: It’s heavy, so much so, that I personally would not want to carry this around all day if I was a student. Add the power brick and you’ll definitely may want to consider other smaller lighter options. Note this would not be an issue if your primarily intention is to use this laptop in a home environment with only the occasional relocation (think portable AIO). BATTERY: Battery life is less than desirable for serious gaming, and just OK for general use (email, light web surfing, etc). Now you can extend battery life for general use if you run in ECO mode, turn the display down to 50%, turn off the keyboard back-lighting, and set the screen refresh rate to 60Hz. Then again, not an issue if you are primarily using with the power brick. CAMERA: No Facial Recognition capabilities to support Windows Hello login. (Not an IR capable camera.) BOTTOM COVER: This has got to be one of the most difficult bottom covers to remove for upgrading the memory or NVMe. Should have at least one corner, or a designated starting point, that is easy to pry to begin the bottom removal. I could get it off, but I shouldn’t feel like I’m about to break something to remove.
