Honestly was looking for a budget OLED and this is it!! Wow !! Set up was incredably easy. Only thing that gave it 1 star less is the fact that it keeps asking me to shut off every 1hr-1.5hr for 6min so the pixels can rest and refresh ( which is important for lifespan of the OLED ). 100% reccomnend.

Honest review

I'm going to be honest. This perspective is coming from someone who never owned a Oled before. This monitor is really nice; it feels high quality compared to my Samsung IPS monitor. The colors are indeed more vibrant, and blacks are really black and inky. The issue is that for full price I would not buy this. At first I thought there was going to be a mind-blowing difference, which unfortunately it was not, I am not saying that it isnt good im just saying that my IPS monitor at max saturation is on par with this monitor which is also saturated with settings on 70 on the color saturate setting menu, and as a matter a fact the blue hue on my IPS monitor might be more vibrant even with my blue and cyan saturate being at 70. Of course, I can intensify the colors even more, but it just looks unnatural. The reds however are much better on the Oled.
As for HDR I'm not sure if it's an issue on my end but even with a DP cable and HDMI 2.1 port being enabled on windows it says that HDR certification not found. Which is strange because im pretty sure its HDR certified. Also, the HDR mode when turned on makes everything grayish/bland and eliminates the options to saturate colors and increase darks. I've tried trouble shooting for a while and even called the support line which did not work unfortunately.
Overall, the Acer predator X27u WQHD QD-OLED 280hz is really good, as I mentioned before the blacks are really black and inky if you increase the settings for it of course and the colors are really nice once you saturate it. This monitor excels in darker environments, and the stand is high quality. However, for full price I will not buy this, only get this if it has a good discount. I got mine for 430 USD after tax. 8/10 not bad buy
The pictures I sent Arnt as good as what the screens actually look like since I have an android, but you get the picture.

I’m very impressed with this monitor. The QD-OLED panel looks incredible — colors are very vibrant, blacks are truly black, and everything looks sharp at 1440p. The 280Hz refresh rate and 0.03ms response time make gaming extremely smooth, especially for fast games like FPS and competitive titles.

If you can catch this monitor on sale like I did, this is a great deal.Acer has been around for a good while so I believe they make monitors that have longevity. This monitor came with an HDMI cable included no DP cable.

The screen is very clean and crisp. The box was a little damaged when picked up which made me nervous but havent had any problems with it so far and i use it daily for several hours at times. A great oled monitor at a discounted price well worth it in my opinion. The stand is a little large so I had to get an arm for it. Very good specs at a good price definitely recommend.

Opened the box and everything was good but realized there wasn’t a Display Port and only had an HDMI cable. Luckily I had a Display Port from my old monitor.

Dear DubbleAA, Users have a choice on what connection they want to use for their monitor. This monitor only allows for connection via one cable. If cables are provided for both inputs, each consumer of this product would have a cable that would not be used. This would create unnecessary environmental waste and not be a cost effective approach. We try to provide a cable for a connection that the majority of users would use. We understand this may not meet the needs of all users that want to use the DP connection. We appreciate you taking the time to write this review.

If you have never used an OLED monitor before, the first thing that hits you is the way the screen looks the moment it turns on. The image has a kind of depth and clarity that feels different from LED or IPS displays. Every pixel lights itself, so the screen can show true black without any glow around bright objects. This alone makes movies, games, and even everyday browsing feel sharper and cleaner.
Color accuracy is another area where OLED pulls ahead. The colors look rich without feeling exaggerated, and gradients look smooth with no weird banding. Whether you are editing photos, watching HDR videos, or gaming, the panel feels consistent and reliable. HDR performance is especially impressive because the monitor can flick individual pixels on and off, giving bright highlights a punch that LED monitors struggle to match.
Response time is one of the biggest strengths. Motion looks clean and smooth, even at high frame rates. Fast moving scenes in competitive games feel crisp with almost no smearing. It makes aiming easier and reduces eye strain during long sessions. Even if you switch between work and gaming, the experience stays solid all around.
One thing you notice after using it for a while is how comfortable it is on the eyes. Because black pixels are actually off, the screen is less harsh during night use. Text looks sharp, and the lack of glow or blooming around bright objects makes reading and editing much easier.
There are trade offs though. OLED monitors can suffer from image retention or burn in if the same static element stays on screen for long periods. Most modern models include protection features like pixel shifting and screen refresh cycles. These work well, but it is still something you need to keep in mind. Brightness is another limitation. OLED panels can look incredible in dim rooms, but in very bright environments an LED monitor might still beat it for overall visibility.
Build quality and design tend to feel premium. Most OLED monitors have thin panels, sturdy stands, and clean minimal frames that look great on a desk. Connectivity is usually strong with USB C support on many models, multiple HDMI and DisplayPort inputs, and sometimes even built in KVM switches.
For gaming, movies, creative work, and general use, an OLED monitor almost feels like an upgrade in every direction. The clarity, contrast, and motion quality create a viewing experience that is hard to go back from. If you spend a lot of time at your desk or you want your setup to feel high end, an OLED monitor is one of the best investments you can make. The only real question is whether the extra cost and the small risk of burn in matter to you. If they do not, you are getting one of the best displays available right now.

The Acer Predator X27U is one of the best monitors I’ve used, especially if you care about both gaming and visual quality. The QD-OLED panel makes an immediate difference. Blacks are truly black, contrast is excellent, and colors look rich and alive. Everything on the screen looks clean and high quality, from games to movies.
The 27-in resolution feels like the sweet spot. It’s sharp without being too demanding on hardware. Text is clear, details are crisp, and the screen size works perfectly for desk setups.
For games like Cities: Skylines 2, this monitor really shines. The colors make cities look vibrant, nighttime lighting looks realistic, and zooming around the map feels smooth. Long sessions are easy on the eyes because the image looks natural and not washed out.
In truck simulator games, the OLED contrast makes a huge difference. Driving at night, going through tunnels, or watching sunsets looks incredibly realistic. The depth and lighting make the experience more immersive, especially when cruising for long periods.
For fast-paced games like Battlefield 6, the performance is on another level. The 280Hz refresh rate and 0.03ms response time make gameplay feel instant. Movement is extremely smooth, aiming feels more precise, and there’s almost no motion blur.
Watching movies on this monitor is also a great experience. OLED blacks make dark scenes look cinematic instead of gray, and colors look rich without being over-saturated. Movies feel more immersive because of the contrast and clarity, even without extremely high brightness.
HDR looks good thanks to the OLED contrast. While it’s not the brightest monitor on paper, the true blacks make highlights stand out naturally, which makes HDR content feel more realistic.

I think it’s not the best build quality from the perspective of the stand and frame, but the picture quality of the screen (particularly the HDR mode) is exceptional for the price

I have had the monitor for a week and have enjoyed my first experience with OLED! The colors are richer and the image is smoother. My secondary monitor is a 27" MSI IPS, and the difference in color richness is obvious compared to OLED. The 'fuzziness' I expected is less noticeable, which I am happy about! I play BF6 and Arc Raiders on it, and I've noticed an improvement in gameplay smoothness. The price is fantastic for what you get!
The only odd thing is that when I turn on HDR, it looks gray until I manually switch the monitor into HDR settings, which I have to do each time I turn on HDR. It only takes about 5 seconds to do this, so it's not a big deal considering how much I saved.
