When someone thinks of acer they may think of gaming. Another individual may think of gaming laptops. The Acer Swift 16 AI laptop is not a gaming laptop, but rather it is a fast laptop that can be used in a business setting, college, or for creativity. Want to do some light gaming? The Swift 16 should be able to handle the light gaming with its Intel Arc graphics card but make note of “light.” This is my review of the acer Swift 16” AI laptop.
*TLDR at the bottom
======================
IN THE BOX:
Acer included a nice protective sleeve, small charger, and some documentation with this laptop. I would’ve liked if the charger had foldable pins for easier storage. Regardless, I do like the size of the charger. This size will make it extremely easy to carry around.
======================
DESIGN/FIRST IMPRESSIONS:
In terms of design, the Acer Swift 16 sports a sleek ice black color that is low key. The entire laptop is this color except for the acer logo and stickers that display hardware information. The track pad is large, and keyboard is comfortable as well. The number pad is awkwardly tiny but nevertheless, it works fine. Additionally, there are some quick setting keys mapped to the F keys. Do make the note that if your trackpad does not work, make sure to turn it on using F10. The OLED display is the part that stands out the most. Not only is it bright and vibrant but the viewing angles are incredible. I know OLED screens are vulnerable to screen burn-in but it is hard to tell how this one will fare. I have hidden the task bar which should help prevent that screen burn-in. Avoiding static images all the time should help minimize the risk too.
======================
PERFORMANCE:
Upon boot, be aware that the newest version of Windows will take a while to install. About 45 minutes or so later, the computer will boot into Windows. I did notice that there was a lot of bloatware which I am not a fan of. There were several acer apps installed and third party apps like Express VPN, and McAfee. There were also pinned games in Start which were later deleted. Speakers are decent, sound is mostly flat and there is absolutely no bass. In terms of performance, the Acer Swift 16 AI is indeed swiftly. From bootup, to light web browsing, and cloud gaming, the Acer Swift will allow you to quickly open something quickly and get right into the action. If you are a creative or someone who does keep lots of tabs, apps, or multi-tasks, you may find that the amount of memory is limited. At one point, I was using, Chrome, word, and another app or two, and my memory usage went up to 70%. If you plan to multitask with this laptop , I certainly recommend upgrading to a minimum of 32GB of memory. As for the graphics card, it is a Intel Arc graphics card which is mid-tier and capable of some lightweight gaming. I mostly used XBOX game pass which does work flawlessly but honestly I would look something else more capable if a gaming laptop is what you are looking for.
======================
CONCLUSION:
Overall, this is a neat business laptop with a beautiful display and sleek black look. This laptop is not flashy which is nice to have. It is a 16” laptop but yet lightweight making it easily portable. Some of the items that stick out is the OLED display and processing speed. On the other hand, some items that could use improvement are the following: If you are a multitasker, the 16GB of memory will not be enough, if possible, increase the memory to 32GB. The speakers are decent and good enough to show others videos or be on a video call but I recommend using headphones or external speaker to experience the complete sound. All in all, this acer laptop is great for a business use case, college student, or a creative. The processing speed, beautiful OLED display and the 1 tb of storage should be plenty for these users.

Nice laptop.
Things I like:
Fast
Cool
Quiet
Nice screen (Big, nice resolution, rick colors)
Decent battery life
Excellent in games (Considering integrated GPU)
Comes with a headphone jack (lots of laptops don't have them anymore)
The NPU is a nice option, it's not very powerful, but it is ultra efficient and can offload tasks from the CPU, though there aren't a ton of things that take advantage of it yet.
The bad:
Speakers SUCK. I mean, they are terrible (whatever you're thinking, it's worse) and it's why I took off a star. Thankfully, blutooth and headphones are an option.
Minor nit-pics
They should have put a USB-C port in the right side.
Laptops should come with magnetic power plugs (get one aftermarket on Amazon).
My power cord died the first week. Probably a fluke.
Cant upgrade the memory (it's integrated into the CPU. Makes it fast, but cant be upgraded.
Some type of built in card reader would have been nice.
Overall I really like it and the deep discount I got thanks to Christmas sales helped a lot.

Pros - Stunning display, plenty of power, keyboard is easy to type on, decent battery, lightweight
Cons - speakers are comically bad, number pad is configured strange, doesn't feel too premium
So far so good! I'm coming from a 2018 i5 FHD laptop so the i7 speed and 3k display are a huge upgrade. The laptop shell doesn't feel the most high end, but the specs make up for it.
Note that when streaming in full screen, I had flickering on the screen and had to return my purchase - BestBuy made it very easy. Overall, at the sale price, the specs are super strong and it punches above its weight.

The brand new Acer Swift 16 is $350 off right now at Best Buy, only $850 - not a gaming laptop, only has integrated graphics, but the integrated graphics are good for light gaming. Very thin and light.
Has Lunar Lake 256V which has exceptional battery life, like near Macbook levels, great single core speed, slow multi core speed, very good iGPU, and runs super cool and quiet.
2880x1600 (3:2) 120 Hz OLED, gorgeous screen, good touchpad, fantastic keyboard and a numpad which I like, for data stuff
Fingerprint reader on power button is super fast and accurate
Speakers are literally god awful, like laughably bad. Worse than phone speakers.
Back left side: 2x Thunderbolt 4 USB C, 1 USB A, full size HDMI
Back right side: 1x USB A, combo mic/headphone jack
Only other annoyance besides the terrible speakers is the fact that both USB C ports (used for charging) are on the same side. I like being able to charge from both sides
But overall, for $850 this, in my mind, is a truly insane deal for lightweight programming/simple gaming/general use (really anything that isn't going to use a lot of multicore CPU), so long as you don't use the speakers very often.
If it was full price, at $1200, I would probably be looking elsewhere simply because you can get something that matches this everywhere, but with better speakers.
But at $850, just insane value.

I recently purchased this laptop and it was a great choice. Fast performance, exceptional battery life, and a sleek, lightweight design. The display is gorgeous as well.

Acer Swift 16 Review: Perfect for Streaming and AI Tasks
I've been using the Acer Swift 16 for streaming and AI work, and I’m really impressed! The performance is top-notch, thanks to the Intel Core i7 processor and NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4050 graphics. With 16GB of RAM and a 1TB SSD, multitasking is a breeze, whether I'm editing videos or running streaming software.
The 16-inch WQXGA display offers stunning visuals with vibrant colors and bright details, making my streaming experience enjoyable. The built-in speakers are clear and enhance the audio quality, which is a big plus.
This laptop is also lightweight and sleek, making it easy to take on the go. Compared to previous models and rival laptops like the Dell XPS 15 and MacBook Pro, the Swift 16 stands out for its performance and value.
Overall, the Acer Swift 16 is a fantastic choice for anyone looking for a powerful laptop for streaming and AI applications. Highly recommended!

as other reviewers mentioned, the awkwardly narrow keypad and terrible (emphasis: TERRIBLE) audio are the drawbacks. otherwise, it runs smoothly, stays relatively cool, has decent battery life (nowhere as advertised though!), and the screen is beautiful

Before you read further down, let me be perfectly clear that the review title is not going to be misleading. If you are looking to use this laptop for gaming, please go find a different item selection immediately.
The TL;DR if you don't want to read everything below this: This laptop is NOT MEANT FOR GAMING, it is meant for usage in a Professional, Educational, or home environment for work or school related tasks. You can definitely try to game, but do not expect a good experience. My experiences with it so far on the initial are good, but there was one small complaint with the amount of bloatware loaded on, but you as a consumer can easily remove it using the built-in uninstaller in the windows settings, or use a management app.
There are reviews saying that X game doesn't work, or it keeps freezing, which is because this is not what this laptop is meant for. This laptop is an absolutely amazing choice if it's used correctly. With the Intel Core Ultra 7 Evo Edition chip, this laptop is meant for what Intel likes to call "Go-getters," otherwise known as people who take their laptop with them everywhere they go in a professional or educational environment. This laptop is primarily not meant for simple home usage but will still run absolutely perfect for that. I use this laptop for school, and in a major of cybersecurity, is perfect for what I need to use it for, which includes coding in Python, running cybersecurity LAB's, and simulating networks using Cisco Packet Tracer.
**THE INTERNALS**
CPU: This laptop uses the Series 2 chip of the Core Ultra lineup, which compared to its' predecessor, is the most power efficient chip there is for a modern laptop. The NPU performance is over 4 times higher, reaching up to 47 TOPS making this an actual Copilot+ laptop. Secondly, the Core Ultra series 2 is also one of the first CPU's to be certified as a Copilot+ laptop that is on the x86 architecture. The iGPU in this chip is once again part of the Intel Arc series, which comparing to last generation's CPU, is 2 times better in terms of graphical performance advertised by Intel.
RAM: The RAM is perfect for this model, Acer substituted size for speeds, and it shows if you dive into the specs of the laptop. When I used CPU-Z to see the internals, the RAM speed was over 7500MHz, manufactured by Samsung. However, the RAM is not upgradable in the traditional way as it's soldered onto the board in 8 chips with 2GB per chip. Make sure you only need the 16GB before you buy this laptop or consider using a program like Intelligent Standby List Cleaner (ISLC) to help keep RAM freed up for your foreground applications.
Storage: Perfect choice by Acer on storage, no complaints here. They went with a Western Digital SSD for the advertised 1TB of storage.
**THE DISPLAY**
The display on this laptop is absolutely beautiful, truly showing that OLED picture and clarity. The display is also HDR compatible, with a maximum rated brightness of 350 nits. HDR **WILL NOT** be enabled by default, so if you want to take advantage of that HDR coloring, you will need to enable it in the settings after initial setup of the computer. However, as since it is an OLED display it does have its main drawback, glare. The screen will look absolutely horrifying in bright environments, as it doesn't have that anti-glare screens that an LCD or LED screen would.
Initial setup: Very straightforward, make sure you install all updates before trying to install any other applications, because there will be a lot. I recommend to all consumers buying this laptop to first go to a website called Ninite, it is an extremely useful tool that you can use to download multiple apps at once without having to search for them individually, including Chrome, Discord, Python, CCleaner, Revo Uninstaller (You will definitely need this one), Dropbox, Google drive, Etc. BEFORE YOU START GOING HAM, CLEAN UP THE UNNECISSARY APPS PRELOADED ONTO THE LAPTOP. I really do not understand why, but Acer preloaded the laptop with several apps including over 15 of their own for QoL of the laptop, but they also preinstalled McAfee and Express VPN, which are known to be absolutely annoying. The preinstalled M365 app and outlook is a nice touch as a student however, good job on that one.

Both myself & my girlfriend bought one & both computers the operating system failed before i could extract the encryption key making all attempts at restoring stock operating system useless. I reformated & installed a clean verion of the operating system without any acer software to start. I extracted the encryption key & immediately decrypted the boot drive as soon as I could get into the operating system. I then installed most of the acer software & the computer has been great every since. I really enjoy the OLED monitor but it needed recalibration which i did. Colors appeared slightly oversaturated especially in anything that used red. Skin tones were quite unnatural before calibration. Speakers on this laptop really suck big time, but the laptop works great with my external DAC/AMPS which I use to drive my headphones and my other computer sound system in which I built the subwoofer that has some very special capabilities for considering its size which is quite small (10-inch). Once I reinstalled the operating system it has been extremely reliable.

Absolutely love it. The display is crisp and clear. The laptop is quick and amazingly noiseless. It's lightweight and also comes with a padded case. The AI is cute but does not make much of a difference when being used. Would definitely recommend if looking for a laptop that's above the basic budget laptops but does not cost as much as a gaming. I think I'll definitely get some good years using it.

Great laptop besides the speakers, which are shockingly bad. The display is fantastic, though it is glossy so it reflects light sources easily.
The keyboard has a good tactile feel to it. I wish the touchpad was larger but it's smooth and responsive.
There's some kind of matte, ant-fingerprint coating on the metal chassis that feels really nice to the touch and hides smudges.
It's also got all the document navigation keys like home, pg up, etc, which was important for me as I do a lot of writing.
The battery life is good. Nothing out of this world but considering this thing's got a 3k 120hz OLED panel it's not bad.
The Acer software it ships with is pretty bad. There's a ton of bloatware.
This is a good laptop if you can snag it for under $800

I bought this for starting my bachelors, and I love it! Im on publoc transport, and the light weight of this laptop makes it comfortable to carry in my backpack. The battery life last about 2 days straight with normal 8-10 hour use per day. It even runs some minor games for those boring lunches or just free time. Screen is bright and crisp, and the touch really helps me personally for zooming in and following instead of using the mouse.

Pros -------------------------------------------------------------------------
- Screen is vibrant, clear, and responsive. It does ship with only 60hz as the base refresh rate, so be sure to change that to 120hz in the display settings when setting up for the first time. I found HDR to not look quite as accurate as non-HDR so I left that off, but your milage may vary. I may just need to calibrate at some point. Others were complaining about the brightness not being high enough, but I almost never use the laptop outside and I have found it to be plenty bright in every environment I've used it in so far. I usually use it around 1/3 of the brightness.
- Integrated graphics with Intel Arc is perfect for light gaming. I've been able to play most of my casual games here and there with no issues. I always game while plugged in, so I'm not concerned with gaming battery life.
- Keyboard feels pretty good overall, considering its a thin laptop. Unfortunately, they decided to cram a number pad on the right, which is almost unusable because of how narrow the keys are. I would rather have had a centered keyboard and trackpad without the number pad.
Cons -----------------------------------------------------------------------
- Battery life is great, once you disable all the Acer Sense software and AI suite of apps that run in the background. Out of the box, I was only seeing about 5 hours battery life. After disabling Acer UserSense and various other pre-installed apps, I shot up to around 9 hours total. Those features may be nice, but not at that cost. These should come installed, but off or disabled and only turn them on if you prefer.
- Mousepad has some glitches with multi-point touches. Usually, scrolling with two fingers will periodically press on the screen by accident. Using the gestures is always a challenge. This happens far too often for this price point of a laptop. I have resulted to just using a mouse most of the time as it has gotten quite annoying.
- Gaming for short periods of time get the lapto quite hot, specifically right above the keyboard. Its not that much of an issue, as it it a thin laptop with a cooling solution to match, but just wanted to give the disclaimer that it gets toasty. Luckily, the hinge design allows the laptop base to lift off the desk surface, increasing the available airflow for the fans.
- BIGGEST CON - Speakers. These speakers are absolutely not usable. Very cheap, tinny sounding speakers with no rich sound at all. After playing around with the DTS:X Ultra app, maxing out the bass and turning the trebble half way up, made them slightly less ear periceingly terrible. I cannot beleive at this price that that was the thing that was cheaped out on and overlooked. Previous reviews stated this when I was researching if this was the laptop I wanted to go with, but I didn't think they could be this bad. I came from a 2020 HP Envy X360 with a Bang & Olufson and that sounded so much better than this laptop. I really wish this was something they put more thought into.
Just over one month of use and overall, this is a great laptop. Performance is there, battery gets me through the day, gaming is capable, and the OLED screen is absolutely beautiful. I can't speak to the CoPilot or AI capabilities as I have no current use for them in any of my tasks, but they are there for people who do use or need them.
I got it on sale for $849, and at that price, I would absolutely reccomend this to friends or family. At the normal sale price, it may be a different conversation.

My laptop had seen its better days and I also knew it would not be long my desktop would being ending its usefulness. My salesman at Best Buy was very patient with all my questions and he recommended the Acer - Swift 16. I have this set up in my bedroom and it is perfect. The laptops these days are not as robust in their size (thinner cases) and it concerns me they may be more fragile than the older models. I will not be traveling very much with my laptop, so I felt safe with this model. The colors are vivid, keyboard responsive and I also like the option of the number pad on the right. I did purchase a mouse and I am set! This unit holds its charge for quite a while. I was on the laptop most of the day and evening and I am still well over halfway charged.

This is a great laptop for the money! It's reasonably fast, lightweight, displays rich colors with a very bright screen. The sound could be better but it's acceptable. You couldn't ask for more at this price point.

Good laptop but recommend getting powered computer speakers because the speakers on the laptop leave much to be desired. Love the OLED display. Nice and bright with great color. Laptop is just heavy enough to feel like you got something for your money without being too heavy. I like that it has the 80% smart charging option in the acer sense app. Battery life is quite good too and gotta love the fingerprint reader. I use this pretty much for movies and music at home and its great for that as long as you have seperate powered speakers. Lots of features for the price

The specifications of this laptop exceeded my requirements for doing small business consulting work, financial spreadsheets, word processing, email, etc. Beautiful display may tempt me into light gaming. Great bargain at the Best Buy sale price before Christmas. I'm replacing a 9-year-old laptop so I'm finding this Acer Swift so much faster and better than expected.

This notebook has been amazing so far. It’s super fast, boots up in seconds, and handles all my tasks smoothly — from work to streaming. The design is sleek and lightweight, making it perfect for travel. Battery life is impressive, and the screen quality is crisp and vibrant. Definitely one of the best laptops I’ve owned.

We tried to look at many laptops with 16 inch and OLED, Touch, and only with numeric keys: not so many!
Most of them were overpriced and only 1 Gen Intel Ultra 7 CPU. So Samsung, Asus were present very poorly and Acer were the only choice.
There is still doubts about sturdiness for display and surviving this thin laptop in next years. We'll see.
After 1 week of usage:
got some more extra discount - better value.
PLUSES:
OLED screen,
Updated ARC external Intel video card, AI CPU, Last Intel.
Speedy NVMe WD disk.
Acer software is not really bad - we wish there were more OLED care settings. Who know how fast this screen burns here.
Thunderbolt 4 with charging with any good GAN charger.
Webcam 2k is ok. Main thing here- Windows Hello supported - so Face Unlock is great!
Finger unlock is good too.
Battery keeps long - 3-4 days with browsing, especially if you setup it right.
Fast Intel Ultra 256V - 35W.
Good stylish thin laptop body.
Windows 11 is good as usual.
Nobody said - here is included DTS X codec with W11.
So surround sound in stereo phones is DTS -> INCLUDED!
CONS:
Terrible sound from speakers.
But still this DTS program codec helps to make it sounds with bass etc. (on maximum) more or less.
Bad Backlit in Keyboard: ohhh - so dull dim absent light on max... how come Acer? In 2024?

This laptop is remarkable. The new Core Ultra 7 Series 2 w/ ARC is night and day to the Series 1. This thing can run in performance mode for hours and remains cool to the touch. Also the ARC iGPU is now 150% faster!
While not a hardcore gamer, this laptop is perfect for day-to-day productivity. No fan noise, no heat, fast, long battery life, what's not to love. Say so long to my cooling pad!
I've heard some people complain about the speakers. They are fine and very loud. If you're an audiophile, put on the headphones but if you just want to watch a movie online, these are great.
And the screen? What can I say - amoled bliss and so bright it almost hurts your eyes.
All this for $849 on sale, are you kidding me? Run don't walk to buy this!
