Customers are delighted by the responsive touch screen and the ease of use of the Switch One 10. Many appreciate its portability, sufficient battery life, and the convenient size. However, some users find the limited RAM and storage to be insufficient, and the sound quality could be improved.

If you are budget minded or looking for a beginner tablet or laptop for a child then this is a great choice. After using this for about a week, I wasn't overly impressed but it is functional for all the basics of networking, email, streaming, and any handlheld operations of an entry tablet. It feels very durable and sturdy when in laptop mode and holds its own as a tablet. It comes with 32 gb of memory with the capability of adding more with an sd card slot. Also comes with USB and hdmi connections. The track pad/mouse is somewhat clunky when clicking but it does have the touch/tap option if you want to use as a laptop. The key board is very nice and is useful for not getting fingerprints on the screen. The speakers are not good at all and you will need to connect external speakers if you are wanting to use sound without headphones. It is capable of connecting with Bluetooth and wifi which both perform admirably. Overall, it is a capable device. It is not something that i would use on a daily basis but only for quick internet browsing operations or emailing. It would make a great gift for kids.

It was a gift for my college kid that isn't working out. The WiFi is horrible and being a College student you truly need this capability. We have to make an appointment to bring it to the Geek Squad and with classes and work this is becoming impossible.

Had it for 9 months. Turned on for about 5 minutes and it needed to be charged. Turned off, charged for about 4 hours and never came back on. Acer doesn't sell the charger anymore or the tablet. Had to send in for repairs

Overall the build and quality of this windows tablet is very good. However there are a few things that make it less than perfect for "Power Users". First and largest flaw is that the windows install that comes on this tablet is 32bit. So if you have anything that won't run on 32 bit it wont work on this. The second this is that the tablet with the keyboard attached is fairly heavy. In daily use however, for things like checking email and watching Netflix, it is not a bad device. I prefer it to dragging out my large laptop when its not really needed and for traveling it fits well in a bag even if it is a little heavier than my ipad. The best benefit is the fact that it does run windows so productivity apps such as office and other non processor or memory intensive applications can be installed just like a desktop or laptop.
Overall I docked it a star because of the lack of a 64bit OS and the fact that it only has 2GB of RAM. Not really any excuse for it to not have at least 4GB.

This device is a 2-in-1 laptop / tablet hybrid running Windows 10 32-bit Home edition. (I'll refer to it as a tablet from here on out). It has a keyboard with a trackpad that snaps into the bottom of it. Removing the keyboard is supposed to trigger it to go into 'tablet mode' and vice versa into 'laptop mode' but I found that this feature did not always work properly and would force me to switch manually to the correct mode. I'm not a big fan of the keyboard piece as it is actually thicker than the tablet and bulky in general. I feel like some additional effort here could have made it a more thin and sleeker device overall. However, the keyboard piece does provide a full size USB slot that you can use to plug in a mouse or a hard drive as the tablet itself does not have a standard USB port available.
The laptop has an Intel Atom CPU (x5-Z8300) which is to be expected for this type of device but only 2GB of RAM. This is the absolute minimum that is required by Microsoft for Windows 10 PCs. 2GB would be fine for an Android tablet but due to Windows natural ability to multitask it cannot manage its memory as effectively as Android. Therefore, I feel that if Acer could have given this device 4GB of RAM it would have helped the processor out and perhaps made this little machine a little more usable, especially when being used as a laptop.
I feel like performance is for the most part on par with Android tablets in this same price range. In fact, when the keyboard is removed this thing looks almost identical to my Acer Iconia One which runs Android. As long as you stick to doing mostly one thing at a time it should work just fine. I did actually try a few games from the Windows store and was surprised that they ran about as well as their Android versions. Note the games I tested were designed for phones and tablets. You are not going to get a Call of Duty or Gears of War to run on this thing. I do definitely like it more as a tablet than a laptop. When you attach the keyboard you've turned a nice sleek tablet into a thick and bulky laptop that is just too small and resource constrained to use in that fashion.
As far as storage goes it comes with 32Gb of onboard memory and is expandable with a microSD card slot. This is about what most phones/tablets come with these days. If you are trying to make a low cost device this is one area I don't mind them skimping on especially when it is expandable. You can get up to 256GB microSD cards these days and when inserted it will show up as an additional drive letter.
So let's talk about wifi. Unfortunately, I had constant drops and other weird anomalies such as when moving from one location to another I would only see the wifi hotspots from the previous location until I turned off the wifi and reenabled it. Sometimes it would drop and all wifi access points would just disappear despite me sitting 10 feet from my router and a dozen more wifi access points that should be in range from neighbor's houses. I would have to restart to see them all. The wifi performance is really what killed this little guy for me. It's painful to watch web pages crawl to complete loading.
Finally, the battery life could be much better. It took me over a month to write this review because every time I wanted to spend some time with this thing it was completely dead. Even if it is fully charged it will not last more than a day on standby. I estimate it lasts around 5-6 hours on a full charge while watching Netflix. Fortunately it can be charged with a micro USB cable but doing it this way is painfully slow. In fact, it's so slow that the device will still die if it's being used while charging over USB. It comes with it's own power cable which works much better but does mean you need to stash another cable in your bag.
All in all, it's just ok. As long as you keep in mind that it's not going to perform anywhere near what the gaming laptop can do on the other end of the aisle for 10x the price. If it had more RAM, a better Wi-fi chip and maybe even just ditch the keyboard and call it a tablet it would have probably earned five stars from me.

The Acer Switch One 10 tablet itself gives a good presentation out of the box. The metal body combined with its heft makes it feel more like another certain unnamed Windows tablet.
But power the unit on and reality starts to set it. The low end Atom processor combined with too little RAM and extremely limited storage space make it behave more like a cheaper tablet.
Cheaper tablets have their place, but with Windows 10 staring you in the face, you expect it to behave like a laptop. And it most definitely is not.
In the end, it works, and has its place, just be sure to temper your expectations.

Yes, due to the small size of the device micro USB and micro HDMI ports were used. You should still be able to use your devices with adapters such as USB-to-micro-USB adapters and the same for the micro HDMI as well.

Before buying I did my research and found this to be a good tablet. It was not. It froze constantly, I couldn't open most windows, I could not make a user or even a guest user. I was not able to edit any changes either. Window would just not open. After 17 days I was not able to return or exchange it. Such a waste. Bought a galaxy tab a for less and it works great.

Under-powered and short on storage. This computer will get you Windows 10 on a convertible laptop/tablet, but that's about all you'll get. There's not much room to add software, and what little it starts with is reduced by the addition of bloatware. The keyboard and touchpad are a bit laggy, but the touchscreen is comparatively responsive. The keyboard is a little cramped. Between that, and the limited power, I wouldn't do much heavy computing on this, but it's ok for some basic windows apps, email, and web surfing. Definitely not a primary computer.
