Adobe does it again, and again and again.

Quite a while ago, I was introduced to Adobe Photoshop . It was a powerful tool but was complicated and had a steep learning curve. In most cases, it is overkill and not for managing day to day photos. That is where Lightroom comes in. It is a a powerful but simple tool for managing, editing and adjusting images. No long learning curve , just ample features for the casual or professional user. Here is some of key areas to review
Interface - clean, elegant design. Everything you need is a click away on the right hand side of the screen. No poking through menus.
Simple tools - yes, not as powerful as Photoshop but good for cleaning up photos and preparing them for production. Don’t dismiss the auto function, it really works great. Try out the heal brush, it cleans up a lot.
Learning curve - Moderate. The simplicity of the program makes it easier to learn then some of the other photo tools out there.
Organization - top notch for organizing photos, albums and assigning information to those photos. Think of it as a powerful cataloging tool.
Features - understand what this is for and take advantage of the Adobe cloud for storing. This has all the features you need for photo enhancement and organization.
At first, I did not go in understanding what the purpose of the program was. I was expecting some type of image editing program and the name “Lightroom” was lost to me. Now it is self evident ( as I say “duh” to myself.) This program is all about photo enhancement and organization. I have only begun to explore all the features but I quickly navigated around most of the core features. Overall , I like it. Adobe is really the gold standard for a multitude of programs. To be honest , I would not even consider a competitor in the word of images and graphics. There is simply no one close to Adobe. Recommend.

I tried PhotoShop several years ago, and I just couldn't "get it". I've used this product for about 2 weeks now, and I'm just amazed at how simple it is to use. Whenever you upload your pictures to your computer, you can then open LightRoom CC and start editing your pictures. There are prompts that let you know how each little icon is used. My pictures taken with my Nikon camera now look very professional! Love it!

I have purchased and used Photoshop and other Adobe products on disk for years. I have switched to the cloud based versions over the past few years to save money. It have worked out great. It is easy to install. Your files and program are available anywhere you need them because they are cloud based. The price is very reasonable. Would highly recommend to any photographer!

A Great Value for Pros and Advanced Hobbyists

Anyone serious about photography, either as a hobby or a business, needs to have Photoshop for alterations and Lightroom for organizing photos. In the past, the greatest barrier to owning one or both was the cost and the constant upgrade cycles. Creative Cloud helps on both fronts.
Rather than buying the software outright, Adobe has gone to a "software as a service" model where you pay a monthly or annual fee to use the software. You never actually own it, but you do always have the most recent version, eliminating the need to upgrade every year.
If you're interested in PS, you already know it's the industry standard for photo retouching and manipulating. The CC version is the full, professional strength version. Along with it you will receive Lightroom, the preeminent photo storage package. Together there's not much you can't do with your favorite photos.
Setup is simple. You go online to start an Adobe account (or log into an existing one) and then enter your code. You then have the ability to download PS and LR and install them. Simple!
My only complaint is that the included cloud storage for photos is way too small. You, of course, have the option to upgrade for a further fee.

The creative cloud plan really is a great value. You get access to all the great adobe software and have the ability to download what you want when you want it. The product verification code is very easy to use and input on the registration website! It doesn't get much better then adobe when it comes to photo editing!

Lightroom and photoshop has always been a staple. For hobbyists like me, editing should be simple but effective. That's what lightroom does for me nad photoshop for those little more complicated artwork. I did not realize how convenient it is to use the cloud features-- I have my sony mirrorless for my serious shots and my google pixel that I carry everywhere. The cloud features enable me to sync them both and to be able to choose files from either camera. The ability to share them easily through my mobile phone is also enabled because my nicely edited photos are already in the cloud so I can access them through my pixel and share my mirrorless camera shots. Even though mirrorless cameras now have the ability to share the photos directly, or even lightly edit them, the edits that I can do in my adobe programs are far more advanced, not to mention easier so my shared photos have now a much better quality. Oh, I almost forgot to mention, for beginners, this software guides you throughout the wayp plus has regular updates making it very easy and convenient to use!!

The BEST photo-editing application available

I've used Adobe's line of editing applications, on & off, since 1997, starting with Photoshop 4. Since then, I've used Photoshop 5, 5.5, CS (aka 8), CS2, CS4 & CS6. Until now, I've never really cared for the CC (Creative Cloud) line, primarily due to its fairly expensive subscription-based format. The original cost was too much for your typical user (yes, I understand that Adobe's primary products are aimed at professionals & advanced intermediate users, while their "Elements" products are aimed at the rest of us). In 2014, Adobe lowered the monthly cost for Photoshop to $9.99/mo, but I was finally getting to rally understand CS6, thus I never made the switch/upgrade until now...and I'm REALLY glad I did.
Before I continue, let me briefly touch on the other two components of "Photography Plan" - Lightroom CC, and Lightroom Classic CC. While many are familiar with the name "Lightroom", the new (and improved???) Lightroom CC is NOT the Lightroom you are familiar with. In truth, it's (far) less of being Lightroom, and more of begging a cloud-based group storage mechanism. As such, I'm not using it, as I have no such need ("group" of one). Lightroom Classic CC, on the other hand, is the Lightroom users would be familiar with. I have neither had the opportunity, nor the time, to truly test it out, so I'm refrain from including any details about it in this review.
Getting back to Photoshop...in this case, the 2018 "edition" of Photoshop CC...the improvements are incredible. While users of the previous versions of PS CC might only notice minimal-to-moderate improvements, anyone (like myself) still using PS CS (any version) still noticed vast improvements, most notably (new, for 2018) its inclusion of AI functionality. Imagine wanting/needing to remove a person, vehicle, power like, etc, from a photo. With PS CS, the results were writhing from "pretty good", to downright hilarious. With PS CC 2018, "pretty good" is, essentially, the WORST you can expect...in truth, expect to be amazed with what it can accomplish.
I could easily write a very lengthy, and extremely detailed, review, as I usually do when it comes to tech hardware...however, in this case, I have a much better idea. For those after familiar with Photoshop (especially PS CS6, or later), upgrading to the latest CC version will be well worth it. As for those who’ve never used Photoshop before (this includes those who have used Photoshop Elements, but not Photoshop), you don't even have to take my words for it, for what I'm about to suggest will seriously speak for itself – download the trial version of Photoshop CC from Adobe’s website (it’s completely free, but will only function for 7 days), and give it a spin. Once you discover the incredible photo editing power of PS CC, nothing else will come close. After reading this…and, for those who need to go the trial route, once you’ve given it a first-hand try…you shouldn’t have to ask, “Would I recommend this?” you’ll already know the answer.

Years ago I took a class on photoshop to learn how to edit photos of my boys playing sports. The version I have is several years old now so i thought I would try this newer version as see if there are any differences. Well it appears i was in the kindergarten version of Photoshop and now have graduated to the graduate school of Photoshop.
There are so many new editing tools associated with this Adobe Creative Cloud Photography Plan then I can even imagine. Even just being a weekend photographer I have cleaned up the action shots of my boys playing soccer and basketball to professional levels. No need to buy the photographs from professionals who take pictures during the games, I am one of them now thanks to Adobe Creative Cloud Photography Plan.

The Gold Standard for Photo Editing

If you do any kind of photo editing beyond basic adjustments, then Adobe Lightroom (LR) and Photoshop (PS) are still the gold standards. The Photography Plan subscription gives you regular updates, and when you do the math, it's less expensive than constantly buying new versions, even at upgrade prices.
Beyond pricing, Lightroom and Photoshop have a phenomenal user-generated ecosystem of tutorials, videos, blogs, shortcuts, training, etc… unmatched by any other application. Both LR and PS have learning curves but the community support is immensely helpful. Adobe's own tutorials are ok, but it's the vast user base that shines.

Lightroom CC leaves a lot to be desired

As an amateur photographer, I've been using Lightroom (now called Lightroom Classic) and Photoshop for years. This subscription bundle offers you the latest versions of Photoshop CC, Lightroom CC, and Lightroom Classic CC for a year.
I do like the subscription based pricing. I can easily afford $120 a year for the latest version of these products. It's much more economical than spending hundreds of dollars for a perpetual license simply because software is not perpetual. It is in constant need of continuous updates. I can continue paying for the subscription as long as it remains useful to me.
Photoshop and Lightroom Classic look to be the same desktop application I'm already used to using on my Mac. I have no complaints regarding Photoshop but renaming Lightoom to "Classic" does not instill any confidence in me that it will be Adobe's focus going forward. Which leads me to the new Lightroom CC (not Classic CC, just LR CC, yes I know it's confusing!)
So what about Lightroom CC? From a glance it looks like this is what Adobe wants you to migrate to going forward. Well, first I found out it only supports cloud storage, you cannot use local storage like you can with Classic. I have over 1TB of RAW photos in Adobe's DNG format, and this subscription only comes with 20GB of space. Bummer. Upgrading cloud storage is expensive, and there is no option to store your photos in other cloud service providers such as iCloud or Dropbox.
So after I realized I could migrate everything over to Lightroom CC that I synced a few collections from Classic just to see how it works. I then checked the Lightroom CC app on my iPad Pro and sure enough they were there. But...this is something I can already do with Apple Photos. in fact, the more I played with Lightroom CC, the more I tried to figure out what it offers that something like Apple Photos doesn't. Apple's machine learning search is hit or miss, but so was Adobe's Sensei. Apple's Photos is deeply integrated into the OS, Adobe's is not. I honestly could not find much reason to use Lightroom CC except for the integration with Lightroom Classic (my real image catalog application) as I can easily sync photos.
I guess if you do pay the storage costs and have your entire library in Lightroom CC you can ditch Classic. However, I found that the new Lightroom is also "Light" on features compared to Classic. For someone like me it would be hard to move over to the new application exclusively until it is on par with the existing application.
Overall - subscription is great, the existing desktop applications are great but the addition of the cloud version of Lightroom makes things muddy. I'm not sure how it would fit in my workflow, and having multiple products named Lightroom is confusing. Just keeping things straight while writing this review was confusing, as I'm sure it is for you reading it! I would like to see Adobe do two things to earn a five star review:
- merge the cloud and desktop versions of the software into one killer Pro-level application
- allow syncing with other cloud services or at least make the costs of CC storage competitive with other cloud services.
I would still recommend this others that need Photoshop and Lightroom Classic.

Adobe never fails to deliver. The Creative Cloud software ensures that you always have the most up-to-date software. This is no exception. It comes with Photoshop and Lightroom. Two of the most powerful software to help you with your photos. I highly recommend this for professional photographers but if you're just someone who likes to edit photos here and there, I'd suggest going for a free alternative.

Adobe's history of top-of-the-line photo tools shines through in their CC product line.
I was hesitant to sign up for a subscription based service at first, but the constant progress on the applications makes this a no-brainer.
I would recommend this to photographers of any skill level who are looking to take their photography to the next level.

Adobe has completely lost touch with anyone below professional. I’m saddened to say this because I’ve been a longtime user and fan.
This product has several sophisticated photo tweaking / editing features. I know this because there are many, many, many options. There are few, few, few, ways to learn about them via Adobe. (Yes, there are several sites you can visit to learn, but I shouldn’t HAVE TO!)
Additionally, the login is annoying. Remember when you bought a program, installed it, read some instructions and had fun? Not with Adobe. You have to ask your parents every time you want to play.
So to be fair, I asked some professional photographer friends. They love the product, despite having to subscribe. If you’re an amateur, I can’t recommend this product.

Ive been using these programs for years. Although, I've never been a fan of "the cloud" it is now a necessity. and honestly, for this purpose it is great having these programs as part of their CC lineup where I can access all of my photos on the go. This doesn't have all of Adobe's lineup but it has quite a few of the programs with Photoshop and Lightroom being the top two that I use on a daily. I definitely recommend it if you are serious about your photography. Plus I recommend purchasing through BB to get your points.

Editing Yes / Organization No

While the tool shines at the editing side, I almost didn't get there since the loading / organizing skills are so lacking.
I started out with tool by loading in a bunch of photos. I had them organized by subfolder. There is no way to say load all photos under this directory tree. I next tried to multi-select multiple subdirectories. While visually it looks like they are selected, it only loads the photos from the first one selected (or was it the last)....
It is nice that it detects if an image has been loaded already if you try to load it twice but all the organizing that is done is organizing that you do yourself. Having seen other programs organize my photos with facial recognition so any photo with my kid in it goes into one virtual "folder", I was hoping to see something similar here. There is no such feature.
If you only want to use the editing feature, not sure if this is your best option. Google drive is a better alternative for the automatic organizing of photos.
If they ever improve the UI, I might consider again, but it is so horrible now....
