Photoshop Elements I am an amateur digital photographer who spends a lot of time editing photos, and Adobe Photoshop Elements is the perfect tool for making those edits. Setup of the application was super easy. After redemption, I simply downloaded the app and logged into my adobe account and it worked. The initial download was pretty quick, but since I shoot in RAW (which adobe photoshop elements includes RAW supportI downloaded the add-ins as well. This release of Adobe Photoshop elements has a lot of what you’d expect out of photoshop (such as a number of select tool, plenty of ways to colorize/transform/edit photos) in a neat package. But, there are also a number of new features available, many rooted in utilizing cutting edge artificial intelligence. That includes removing object, creating an artificial depth of field (AKA portrait mode), changing the color of individual objects, combining pictures, and adding motion to pictures. After experimenting with these new features for a long time, I can say they are excellent. The ability to remove objects after shooting and to adjust depth of field after the shot really opens up the possibilities of image editing. I found removing objects after shooting to be especially useful in situations where I was taking photos in a crowded area. One thing to note, I ran this on a MacBook Pro with an M1 Pro chip and 16gb of RAM. Initially performance was not great, but after going into the performance settings and allocating additional memory, I found it to be very useable if not quick to perform. One thing I love about photoshop elements is the inclusion of a web and mobile app. The companion iOS app (currently in Beta) is super useful. It allows you to move photos between the devices and also offers quick editing options if you are trying to edit on the go. It’s not as fully featured as the desktop app but if you are looking to do adjustments to the exposure, contrast, color, etc. it’s very quick and useful. Overall, as an amateur photographer, Adobe Photoshop Elements is a great tool with professional level features as well as support for new AI features.

I have been using Adobe Photoshop Elements since 2022 and have gotten the updates every year because they keep improving the product. It is no different this year as Adobe Photoshop Elements 2025 is released. They have made it easier to use, and added new functionality that was not there last year. For those not familiar with Adobe Photoshop Elements, it is a version of Photoshop that is designed for the more casual photo/graphics editor. It is not designed for professional photographers, but for more casual photographers that want to be able to make their photos look better than when they first took them, and fix things they may not have noticed in the first place. It also allows you to create composite images, combining pieces of multiple photos into something completely new. It operates with 3 different modes. There is Quick Mode which lets you choose from a number of features with just a few clicks. Then you have Guided Mode. In guided mode, you can do more complex things, following built in step-by-step wizards, making the complex things easy to do. Then you have Advanced Mode which is more like regular Photoshop where you have your palette of options to chose from with no step by step guidance. The software starts with the use of the Photo Organizer. The Photo Organizer keeps a catalog of your images making them easier to find and to work with. Photo Organizer allows you to access, share, and create your media on-the-go by syncing your mobile media. It allows you to find similar looking places and faces so you can later easily search through your media to find what you are looking for. It also allows you to view your media based on where and when it was taken. There are a number of new features to the software. First off, they have added the Object Removal tool. You can paint over anything in a photo that you would like to remove. It’s better at removing smaller objects than large ones. I also find that it leaves soft edges that can be easy to spot after the removal. Next off we have the depth of field tool. It can do a couple things. It can create a background blur in the photo as well as changing the focal point of the image. If you didn’t have the camera focused on the subject, you can now correct it after the fact. You also have the ability to change the color of objects in the photo. If you don’t like the way you looked in that red shirt, you can change it to blue or green. You can also blend subjects from multiple photos. Some of the other new features include more backgrounds and graphics to include in your photos. You can add motion to your images in 2D or 3D. You can also add moving overlays with things like falling leaves, snow or confetti. I don’t remember how many guided edits they offer in the 2024 version, but in the 2025 version there are 59 guided edits. The software can create reels, collages, and slideshows and lay them out for your favorite social media application. This version also includes web and mobile companion apps, but I have not had the opportunity to try them out yet to see exactly what they can do. I know that the organizer has the ability to integrate with your phone via some kind of syncing option, but I do not yet have it set up. The biggest change this year however is the licensing. In the past, you were purchasing the rights to use the software for as long as you wanted. Starting with Photoshop Elements 2025, you are buying a 3-year license term. I have not looked into it enough yet to know if this includes upgrades or updates, but it’s something that you will want to research before going out and buying it. Overall it's getting easier to use and can do a lot more than it could before. While I like the changes, I do have questions about the new license terms.

Amateur photography is an enjoyable at worldwide hobby. This is a program suited for good hobby use. It’s fun to take regular casual pictures and turn them into a piece of art or memes, with the AI power of program like this. Another important but unappreciated feature of amateur photography is its usefulness in the future for helping historians and genealogists to find out what made the past tick. If this kind of entry-level program causes more people to tag their photos and share them with family members for future use, it’s done its job. FEATURES: · A Powerful AI works in the background preparing your files for affects you might want to use. · Displayed interface is suited for simpler tasks and needs of more casual users. · Slight motion can be added to still photos for interesting displays. · AI makes it simple and quick to remove objects from photos · Elements of multiple photos can be combined into one photo. · The AI makes it easy to change the color of any object in the original photo. · Has features to prepare your photos for ideal display in web and mobile apps. · Apparent Depth of Field can be altered easily with the help of AI · Textures can be added to photos. · Create Photo Reels and collages of your photo collections PROS: · Easy to get used to by those familiar with resent versions of Adobe Elements · With some reworking of your old digital photo files (Tags, Etc.), you can make them much more searchable and dynamic. CONS: - After purchase, your access to this program will end after 3 years. Never ending subscription models are a reliable source of income for corporations, but bad for consumers in my opinion. - Hard to get used to by those only familiar with versions of Adobe Elements from 10 or more years ago. CONCLUSION: Our photos often represent our family history. In the recent past family photos were either stored in carefully organized and labeled photo albums, or stuffed into a shoe box stored in the back of a closet. Either of these were too often lost in a fire or flood. We now have digital versions of our photos stored on some company’s cloud. The good news is, that they are not subject to the problems that can occur to physical media in a house, but they still need to be organized. Programs like Photoshop Elements 2025 have many features that make the preservation, organizing and spreading of your family history much easier and therefore likely to occur. This version of Elements is more for the amateur than it is for the professional, but there is an important need for that kind of program.

    PSE 2025 – Worth Taking a Look

I have been using Photoshop Elements (PSE) since version 5.0 in 2006 mostly to edit digital photos for printing or for including in high-definition slideshows. Adobe has packed enhanced features into each new version of the product. What started out as a fairly simple photo editing / art creation tool has turned into Photoshop’s little brother. Version 2025 continues to build in automation (Guided Edits) to assist in the photo editing process but also includes a bit of AI. If you are already using a recent version of PSE, you will feel comfortable with the 2025 version. At first glance, you will be hard pressed to see a difference. All the familiar tools and the layout are just where you would expect to find them. But, PSE 2025 has a few rather nifty additional features worth considering. Removing objects from your photo becomes a snap with the addition of AI to the selection process. I used it to remove several unwanted objects from a very busy street scene and I have to say, with a little bit of practice you can get the tool to clean up the photo to look as if the distracting objects were never there. I was very impressed with the results. You can find this tool listed under the guided edit section or as a new tool on the healing brush menu. Another new feature is a tool to adjust a photo’s depth of field. This is another AI powered tool and, like the remove objects tool, is simply amazing. For folks who aren’t familiar with depth of field, this is the area in your photograph that is in focus. When you focus a camera lens there is usually an area closer to the lens and often an area further away from the lens that is not in perfect focus. The area in focus between those two points is within the depth of field. If your photo has a busy background that you want to blur while keeping your main object in focus, you simply click on the item you want to keep in focus, then adjust the depth of field and blur strength. PSE will keep your main object in focus and blur areas behind the object giving the appearance of having taken the photo with selective focus. You can find this tool as a guided edit or on the Filter menu. One unusual quirk with this tool is that while you have a live view of your photo while you edit the depth of field, you select the focus subject in a small window in a toolbar to the right of your photo, not on the photo itself. Not an issue, but the first time you use the tool you will likely start clicking away on your photo before you realize you need to use the selection window. By now you should be able to see the big change in PSE 2025 is the increased ease of selecting and editing photos with the assistance of AI. There are also new tools to combine photos, select and change an object’s color, and new AI powered “Quick Actions” to add color to the sky, smooth skin, and to add simple motion to your photos to name a few. In the case of color change, you drag a new automatic selection box around an object and AI does a very good job of figuring out what you want selected. Kind of like a seriously improved magic wand. All good, right? But wait, there’s more. Starting with version 2025, Photoshop Elements becomes what amounts to subscription software. Adobe is quick to point out there are “no monthly or annual recurring subscription fees required”, but you will only get to use the software for a limited period. No longer will you be able to purchase PSE and use it “forever.” You will now pay a $99.99 “non-renewing” license fee that will grant you the use of the software for 3 years after which the PSE software installed on your computer will no longer function. The Organizer will continue to work, but you will need to purchase a new license for PSE, presumably for another 3 years, if you choose to continue to use the software. So, should you upgrade or not? If you don’t need the added AI functionality and are happy with the version you are now using, likely not. If you want the AI features or are someone who upgrades PSE every year, maybe yes. In the past we could buy PSE for around $70.00/year. If you upgrade each year, $99.99 for 3 years feels like a bargain. Finally, if you edit photos taken in RAW format, the first time you try to import a file into the editor you will be prompted to download the RAW converter. PSE will handle the download and installation for you. I'm not sure how I feel about the 3-year license, but the new AI powered features in this version of PSE are impressive.

I am by no means an expert when it comes to using Adobe-Photoshop Elements 2025. I've used it in the past to make simple fixes, but never really heavy duty edits. Now that I use a Mac I am more motivated to tapping into my creative side. With Photoshop Elements for Mac, I feel now is the time. I love that it was simple download and set up, with many familiar looks on the home screen. There are a lot of new additions to this year, but also a lot of similar features so that you are not really lost in the process. Adobe PE 2025 is geared towards using more AI elements, and that is up front here: AI-Powered Remove Tool: Very similar to what was in last year's edition. The quick tool/removal tools are very handy. I like that you can remove objects you paint over and replace them with generated background content. In addition, smart brushes was really accurate and helpful. Depth Blur: If you are familiar using this on your smart phone, then this is will be similar, but now with the larger screen. Combine Photos: As the name suggests, a lot of combination going on here. Change Object Color: This was fun to edit with some of my photos. New Textures and Graphics: There are newer selections of backgrounds. This was really fun to use. From the get go, using the Organizer tool has been very helpful for me to use the photos I want to edit. I was also able to add the location on these photos, for easy organization. It can get very tedious just be warned. Adding names is also very helpful, especially to help you organize people and places. The editing job is what most people want to do on Photoshop Elements. From quick fixes, using the tools to remove hair, blotches on photos, etc has been easy to use. The newer background and texture features have been more challenging on my case. I was able to edit a photo of my dog and make him look like the hulk, some similar tools that I have been using on my phone. Using the Quick, Guided and Advanced features has been the same from previous editions of Photoshop Elements so I strongly urge people to look into these and know your limitations, because it can get very overwhelming. Overall, I have been enjoying using Photoshop Elements 2025. The AI features are the future and I am glad that it has been very easy to use on this platform. It takes time to get to use so be patient.

    Great desktop editing software

Adobe Photoshop Elements 2025 is a download license for three years, that feels old school given that we are all now accustomed to subscription based models, especially from Adobe. Adobe also made a web companion and a mobile app to go with it, though they’re still in beta. As someone who mostly uses editing software to make social media posts with car pics and videos, I wanted to see if Elements 2025 is up to the task. One of the coolest things about Elements 2025 are the new AI features. There’s object removal and depth of field blur, which are really handy. One limitation is Organizer doesn’t automatically import RAW files unless you download the Extras Pack. But I guess people who work with RAW files probably use more advanced software anyway which is why it’s done this way. Elements 2025 has many of the same tools as Photoshop but they’re organized in a different way. There’s a Quick Fix mode that lets you try out different color and exposure settings to make your photos better. The Guided Edit mode is probably the most useful. It shows you a list of common fixes and effects, with 59 different Guided Edits in this version. Each Guided Edit has a step-by-step tutorial that explains how to use the tools. This is really helpful, especially if you’re new to editing. As I mentioned, some of the best things about Elements 2025 are the AI-powered tools, such as object removal. You can just paint over unwanted objects, and the AI will make sure the background stays in focus. There’s even a new Guided Edit that shows you how to do this. It’s really easy to follow, even for beginners although many folks already use tools like this on smartphones. Elements 2025 also has a cool new feature called depth of field blur, just like in Lightroom. It uses AI to make sure the subject stands out from the background, and it works pretty well. But here’s the thing: it’s only in the Advanced mode, and there’s a Depth of Field Guided Edit that seems to be a better option. It uses a tilt shift effect but in my opinion it’s not as good as the AI-powered one. Photoshop Elements 2025 also allows you to combine multiple pics creating something totally new and different from various pictures and objects. You can also use automatic selection tools to change the color of any object. But be warned, these edits might not always be perfect so your mileage may vary. All in all I think this desktop, non subscription based software is great for beginners especially those that don’t want to commit to any subscription model type software.

This software is a digital download. You will receive a license key and directions for downloading the software. You get a license for 3 Years that is not Auto renewable. When you install it does not overwrite or remove any older versions. The updated AI features allow this release of the program to remove objects from your photos. This allows you to adjust quickly. You can also change colors and integrate multiple photos into one. There are multiple step-by-step self-guided edits available. Using these edits allows you to do the following with the click of the mouse: under the Basics tab, add text, change brightness and contrast, correct skin tone, crop photo, adjust brightness contrast and tonal range, lighten or darken photo, move and scale objects, remove objects, resize, rotate or straighten, sharpen photo and vignette effects. Under the color tab, enhance the color, Lomo camera effect changes high contrast, remove a color cast, and saturated film effect. There are also some interesting effects under the Black and White tab, The Fun Edits, Special edits and combine tabs. You can also chose to manually edit your photos. There are an abundant number of features in the Advanced tab. There is also a tab for organizing your photos. You can import all media from your device into the organizer, then annotate people, places, and events. You can then later search media by these. You can also buy Premier Elements if you do a lot of Video Editing. I do not have this feature, so I am unable to comment on it. I have been using Adobe Photoshop Elements since 2021. In my opinion this latest release is a must have. I have it installed on both my laptop and desktop.

Adobe Photoshop Elements 2025 has numerous features that help in editing your photos. I find it useful and easier for everyday editing-adjusting contrast, brightness, highlights. It seems more difficult for some of the tools - to remove objects and add objects. I’m still learning. There are so many wonderful features from previous versions and the tutorials are helping me get past my editing fears. I love the ease in making different projects with my pictures-collages, cards, posters, iron-on transfers and photo books to name a few. There are so many new and interesting things to make your pictures pop. I can’t wait to work through my pictures and get them to where I want them. Cropping and straightening are 2 of my favorite tools. I will get the hang of the advanced applications with practice. I feel this product can suit the amateur like me to professional photographers. I have been a long-time user of a much older version of Elements and much has changed. I would certainly recommend this photo editing program. To the amateur, don’t give up, watch the tutorials and learn the techniques! For me, photo editing is something that I enjoy and it is primarily because of Photoshop Elements.
