Back in the 60s in Hawthorne, CA, I couldn't get the Superman series on TV and thus was always antsy to visit my cousins in Reseda, where the show *was* carried. It was magic! Unlike modern versions, where one doesn't know what to expect in character and script variations, the visual program was like a 3-D comic book, like finally getting to see everyone - Perry White, Lois Lane, Jimmy Olsen, Supes - in person just as DC Comics presented 'em. In grabbing this DVD set, I've found that, though the tech has gone thru the roof in superheroing now, none of the magic has worn off from the old days. The George Reeves version is both high camp and great "realist" fantasy simultaneously...and when I'm done with this box, I'm laying hold of the others and binging.

Many people find the early episodes of Superman the first TV series cheap and simple in story & special effects. The oldest Baby Boomers of today will tell you that these early comic come to life images of Supey were magical .special and easy to see why George Reeves was so tragically identified and only identified as one of the popular icons of the 50's & 60's.

Yes I know the Superman TV show from the 50's got progressively cheesy in production, special effects and acting as the final 5 or 6th season rolled around .., but i still grew up and loved the reuns in the 60's as a kid l

No CGI.Just action and adventure along with a cast that worked well in the series. Great collector's gift. If you have fond memories of shows you watched as a kid then you will enjoy the entire series. Ah to be a kid again..

THIS IS MY FAVORITE SEASON OF SUPERMAN WITH GEORGE REEVES,PANIC IN THE SKY IS THE BEST EPISODE GREAT FLYING SCENES FOR ITS TIME AND SUPERMAN IN EXILE IS GREAT TOO BUT REALLY FOR 10 BUCKS YOU CAN'T BEAT IT SO BUY IT TODAY.

If you like G. Reeves as Superman get this. To me he is the best Superman. I loved theses as a kid. I would run home from school and watch these. I just love these. Bought back pleasant memeries.

Happend to see this DVD set and decided to give it a try. This is the original Superman, the one I grew up with as a child. Haven't finished all the DVDs yet, but so far very pleased.

Well if you like old school stuff & superman then this is for you. It's great too see items like this. It makes you appreciate much more in terms of today's modern technology

This Is My 2nd Superman DVD Collection From The 1950-1960's Enjoyed Many Times In The Past Now The Present Even My Friends Were Amazed To See It, Young And Older!

Remastering helps picture quality, up to a point. This isn't HD, folks. The plots are still cheesy, but it's a fun show to put on & veg out to with popcorn. The price is very, very reasonable. I bought this as a Birthday present for a relative.

Brings back memories of classic TV shows that still provide entertainment today! .A time when families gathered around the TV and enjoyed the show together.

I purchased this old serial of Superman it was a great tv show It was great seeing it again. A great collection to have it in your movie or tv shows.

Love the original superman. Have season one and two now, will be looking for season 3. Nothing like the old black and white shows from the 50's.

This is Superman the way it should be. Family-friendly and fun. If you watch it with the little ones be ready to explain that TV used to be black and white.
