Remedy hit it outta the park again. The first game that I really FELT like I was playing a next gen title. Amazing story, graphics, atmosphere, music, voice acting, all of it. Remedy has released banger after banger and I’m looking forward to what comes next.

Incredible game that not only improves on the story from the first game but revolutionizes the survival horror genre in the process. The graphics are beautiful, the live action cut scenes are so well produced, the soundtrack is unbelievable, DLCs of Night Springs and The Lake House do have some ups and downs but overall are more than worth your time and money. I could go on and on about just how great this game truly is. It's one-of-a-kind and probably one of the greatest games I have possibly ever played. I can't recommend this enough!

Loved the first game back on the Xbox 360 and was super excited at the announcement of the second game. Was a little disappointed when they decided to only release it digitally because I prefer physical copies but now I can have both the remaster and this one on my shelf. Awesome game. Love the atmosphere and writing. The survival horror elements are excellent and the combat is satisfying. The soundtrack has always been a standout for me with these games and I love how the chapters end with a song.

Alan Wake 2 is definitely an horror masterpiece and great sequel to the first video game. Stunning visuals and story makes this game one of the best surviving horror from this decade.

For reference, I'm maybe 5 hours in. Alan Wake 1, and Control, were creepy enough games without actually BEING horror titles. Remedy went pretty wild with AW2, and it's not just jump scares and loud noises. The flavor of Twin Peaks and other surreal media is all over their game, and even the "safe" areas can feel..."off" because of how characters act. Survival horror elements are handled well, guns sound great, and enemies nail the "I do NOT want you near me!" factor. As a warning, I feel there's a LOT more dialogue than, say, RE2 Remake, so be prepared for a lot of voice work. Saga and Alan talk to themselves a LOT to rationalize/dictate the events of the story, respectively. That might be a turn off to some. The detective bits of the game aren't terribly complex, at least not yet
