    Alan Wake is one of those games that felt essential to me, but after playing the remaster my opinion on it took a major hit. Your inventory gets reset after nearly every cutscene, you just fight wave after wave of enemies more often than not, and Alan is a bit of a bad person. It's fun and the universe is awesome, but yikes.

    Never played the OG version, but I really enjoyed this game. The many performance issues on my PS5 left a sour taste in my mouth however. If not for those issues, an East 4 to 5 star game
