    Kicking It

I wanted to buy my son a computer for college. He's going to study Computer Science so I wanted something powerful. He wanted something to support gaming. This machine does both. The 1070 Graphics card is unbelievable. His Java code runs as fast as he can start it. The machine (as we knew) is heavier than many but the extra space allows for an improved cooling system which it needs as it is kicking it! Last night I noticed that Alienware is the machine Sheldon uses. Well, that's too cool.

I bought this laptop for gaming and video editing, and it has not let me down. I did buy it as an open-box and did have a few issues with the hard drive not being recognized and a popped up key on the keyboard. But I contacted dell support and they fixed everything under the standard warranty the laptop comes with. Since then I have not been let down and can play my games at the highest settings no problem. I only give it 4 stars based on how I was sold the laptop as being certified excellent, and it was not.

I took this computer home, and it ran fine, until one day the charger cord was tangled and when I got up, it pulled the laptop off my desk onto my chair and snapped closed, I expected it to be okay, with other laptops I never had an issue, but when I opened the screen, the entire LCD screen was cracked, and it looked as if a bullet struck the screen. Temporarily I plugged an HDMI to a monitor, but this was very frustrating. Especially since I paid $1899 for the laptop, I expected better.

Would be five stars if their was more memory in the main (C) drive. Only 150gigs and thats after the bloatware from Alienware, but just create a shortcut to the large D drive and "walah" you have a beast of a machine. Very nice layout and the mousepad is by far the most awesome ergonomic feel. Feels like its gummy, not like cheap plastic. I am satisfied. It does freeze sometimes, but very rarely, but I am pushing this baby pretty hard with programs, video editing, and photoshop heavy.

This computer is cool and gets what I need done, but it just isn't the fastest or most reliable like I thought. Needed to update all the time and need to talk to service providers. Not as thrilled as I initially thought, but I still love my new computer. I would not exactly recommend to a friend though, I think there are more reliable computers.

If you are looking for a machine to play computer games, this machine is at the price point where you have what you'll need. There is enough solid state memory to make loading the Windows 10 OS a breeze. The 1T hard drive has plenty of storage for games and data. The graphics are superb. I would recommend picking up a gamer mouse to make the whole gaming experience unique and a cooling tray for the laptop. Enjoy!!

What a great computer for SolidWorks and EdgeCAM software. These programs will kill even the best computer setups and this laptop handles it very good. No real lag on the processing of very large files. It says a gaming computer but will handle engineer software with no problems. The laptop is also much cheaper than any other computer with the same specs. Dell has stepped up their game on this one.

Top notch processor, more RAM than you need, SSD and one of the best video cards around. All in a package that makes the girls go wow! This thing will remain a gaming capable machine for a long time. Can't go wrong for the price. The only downside is no optical drive built in and not enough native ports to run an oculas rift. It does run the Vive great and the new mixed reality like a boss.

Bought this for running several software that I am using in my graduate work, and it has not disappointed. It may not be as fast as a fully built out desktop, but it gets the job done and being portable is a huge plus! The eye-tracker software can be a little weird to get used to, but it has its uses for saving energy and battery life.

This laptop is on the heavier and bulkier side but it has all the bells and whistles of a gaming laptop. I was a big fan of alienware laptops but never owned one. Its been over 4 months now and so far it has run smooth and worked with everything I have thrown at it. I use tableau, R, Python, data robot, SQL server and play games , world of warplanes.

This thing is a beast. You can do anything goes you need or want on it. I use it for school, video editing, games (highest settings), and Windows Mixed Reality (WMR). The computer is quiet as it cools, starts quickly, and feels very durable. I also own an MSI Steel series, and an ROG. After buying this Alienware, I will never go back. It's Alienware all the way. Buy it. You won't be sorry

So far so good - mostly. Except its set up with C as the small partition for the back up opperating system. D set up as the main drive. Default for installs & saves is C:/ No matter what settings I use for installs, saves, user data, they go straight to C. Which doesn't have enough room hold all that data. There is no DVD drive on this computer which is a total pain.

The laptop is good. It has a solid build and the hardware is top notch. The customization options are excellent--you have rgb down the sides of the laptop!!! So what are the downsides? For such a heavy laptop, you would expect some of that heft to be used on the heatsink...but that doesn't seem to be the case. Moreover, the ssd is a bit on the small side.

This computer is great. Screen is great. Great for gaming or anything else you want to do with it. It is a little heavy for carrying around. I got it instead of getting a desktop. So it is portable. My only thing I would change is to get the 256 gig ssd instead of the 128 gig which is slower and less space. Try it out, you want be disappointed.

I bought my laptop 2 weeks ago and I have already problems with booting up my laptop. It won't turn on, I don't have any image. The computer is defective and I don't live in USA so I can go to best buy and make the warranty valid, I have to go directly to the dell services here in Mexico, and see what kind of problem the computer has. You pay so much money to receive a defective machine

Good thermals, excellent build quality, and amazing battery life (for a gaming laptop). I did a lot of research and it came down to this or the msi ge72 mvr and while that laptop is good too, the build quality on this one is far superior.I was worried about cpu thermals but honestly so far they are excellent maxing at 84c while playing Witcher 3 ultra with hair full.

This computer is a BEAST. Runs Doom at high settings on 4K with no sweat. Also handles my very intensive business tasks. Also has gobs of ports. HDMI, DisplayPort, Thunderbolt 3 - has it all. Battery power is lousy but that's life with most gaming laptops. I found the Tobii eye tracking annoying so I turned it off. My only wish is that the keyboard had a numeric pad

Salesman was very attentive and knowledgeable; showed my daughter-in-law and me various products relative to a laptop I was buying for my grandson. Did not push the more expensive product which I ultimately decided to buy, but did detail the advantages of each laptop I looked at. Overall a very pleasant (except for the cost--LOL) experience.

We’ve had prosit here the first 2 we purchased, same laptop and had to return both. 1 st a graphic card malfunction, then a operating system malfunction. This 3rd one seems to be alright , fingers crossed. This is the last try. My son researched and really wanted this computer for gaming so we hope this one works out.
