Amazing laptop and very powerful performance with a good price

The 6 i7 cores provide plenty of processing power to run SolidWorks and any other engineering program I would need to run. The few games I've run that demand good graphics have run without any noticeable frame drops. For a first time Windows user it's easy to use and navigate. I'm very satisfied with this purchase and expect to use this computer for a long time.

I was not looking for a gaming computer. I was more interested in features like the 2 click buttons on the laptop which a lot of newer computers don't have. A couple of things to point out...picture quality is GREAT!!...The mouse on this is VERY sensitive....the built in speakers are inadequate unless you plan on using headphones. Also, this thing is heavy! I would recommend this item none the less. t

Graphics and speed and finally no lag in MMO gameplay, love it!

This fits my gaming needs. Plays most of my games at Very high or ultra setting. The specs were a little misleading. The 16gb memory was not 2666 RAM as advertised. After looking into the system specs memory was only at 2400. Best Buy, please correct . Would have given 5 stars if specs were as advertised. Other wise, it a good gaming machine.

I've been looking to invest in a gaming laptop for about a year until I settled on this one. Dell/Alienware is at the top of their game when it comes to chassis/packaging and thermal control. Especially at 17", physically there will be more airflow and plus sounds a little better with the built in sub-woofer. It is heavy like it should be, about the same with other similar sized models. I'm happy with 1080p and with GTX 1070 and G-Sync this one should be firing for a long time.

Bought this laptop along with the Oculus Rift bundle and I am loving it every chance I get to immerse myself into the VR world. I upgraded to Windows 10 Pro and installed Office 2016 and am very happy with the overall performance, large keyboard and screen size.

Good for gaming. Can run a little hot at times but so far no crashing from overheating.

I bought the 17R5 with the i7-8750h processor when it went on sale and it’s been a dream to work with. Super fast and easy to manage. Decided on the i7 over the i9 processor because laptops won’t see the full functionality of a desktop i9. Still one of the best laptops on the market right now for a pretty decent price.

It's a little pricey but trust me. you won't be disappointed. Cools down easy and love the color. Maybe the worse thing I can say its that is heavy. But its heavy for those awesome thermals that keep your game running 100 percent no throttling

I bought this laptop because 1. I wanted SSD operating systme 2. I wanted a good GPU. I did take out the hard drive and put in a 1TB SSD for extra storge but wasnt really needed. Everything on it works really well and is super fast at start up.

I have been looking for a laptop of this type with the large screen size and performance enhancements. This laptop boots fast, has well integrated software, extremely fast network performance and is lightning fast. I would definitely purchase this make and model again. Strongly recommend.

This machine does great. I can run what ever game I want on top of discord with no issues whatsoever. You'll probably have trouble find a backpack for it but it's well worth it. I wish it had more usb ports but maybe that's just me being old fashioned. Thunderbolt port is great though!

Only problem is that gets heated fast and loud noise.

I had an MSi gaming laptop that needed to be replaced under warranty and I chose this unit. I wouldn't have picked this particular model since it doesn't have an internal cd/DVD drive, but that's not as important as performance and ease of use and this laptop does really well for the gamer on the go. I would recommend it to those looking for gaming use.

Had for about 2 weeks now. Needed a mobile for software and VR development. This definitely met the requirement. Installed 1TB NVMe (still 2 more slots available- Sweet!) for Linux development workstation (boots in 7 sec). Occasionally, use Win 10 for Java compatibility testing, boots in less than 1 min. Use the BIOS boot menu instead of GRUB or other boot loader- very convenient. For Linux folks, using Kubuntu and Fedora 29, with NVidia drivers installed backlight and lid suspend worked (no tinkering). Haven't tried keyboard/LED colors- don't care, but looks like probably supported. (/proc facilities available). Is heavy, the power adapter is size/weight of another laptop... However, using is nice. 15" did not have keypad- show stopper for me. Keyboard very responsive tact, fast typing very comfortable. Primarily use Linux, but CPU never gets warm (probably because at nearly 10 lbs, 7 lbs Aluminum used to build it!!...
