    Great Gaming Laptop

Bought this purchase not long ago and received it within two days so shopping was hella fast. Opened up this bad boy and immediately started gaming once I updated everything. It ran above my expections. Trust me you will not be disappointed, even though it's running RTX 2070 instead of 2080. Getting 4/5 instead of 5/5 stars because,on my screen at least, there is some light bleed on the bottom and on the bottom left corner (immediately notices once I turned it on fresh out the box). Did some digging around and apparently this is an issue with this laptop (50/50 shot of getting it). Wish there was a notice saying this might be an issue or that there was a proactive fix but *shrug* still a good gaming laptop though.

Powerhouse of a machine. Got it at an excellent price since it was on sale and an open box item. My faith in Dell has been restored with this particular Alienware machine. Plays pretty much any game at max settings that we've thrown at it. Bought it for my son and I am pretty jealous =).

A very good laptop. One could argue the best on the market. Has incredible features and performance but occasionally freezes randomly without cause, laptop returns to normal after a moment though. Has done this since first prichasing it.

Very slient even with fans running. Two battiers plugs are annoying. Over all a awesome gaming laptop. The graphics are great! And the refresh rate is even better. When playing isle, BOB, and the loading time for sims 4 is alot faster.

I have always been an Alienware fan...way before they were acquired by DELL. This laptop is lightning fast and startup is under 6 seconds. I use this for both work and gaming. Definitely worth the investment. 10 stars

Blows away previous generations of AW...

    Posted .
This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.

I've been with AW for a while know and I've had overall great experiences with them. I went from and AW17R4 to R5 and thought that was a big difference. If that was going from a 350z to a corvette, then this is going from a corvette to a victory-class Star Destroyer. It's gorgeous, if I look at it long enough I want to eat it. That's just the aesthetics, the 144hz screen is a previously unbeknownst to me BIG difference, almost worth it in and of itself. The sound, for a laptop, melts my face off compared to my old R5 while the bad sound(fan noise) is far quieter than my suppressed farts at work when the hot girls in the general vicinity. Now lest we forget the gravy to the biscuits, lets get down to brass tacks. I alllllllmost went with the ROG G703x for the 2080 as it's only $300 more, BUT lest you make my almost mistake check out the CPU benchmarks. This baby has a 9700 and sealed the deal for me, you'll never bottleneck and you'll always be able to use that workhorse 2070 to max potential, and trust me the 2070 handles it's business especially since it isn't that max-q nonsense. Minor negative is the 16gb of ram, I wanted 32gb, but this and all the other major components are super easy to upgrade once time comes which is kinda sad because I love buying stuff. Oh well! Also kinda lame is you have to use TWO power bricks which is cumbersome, unless of course you find yourself confronted by outlaws or cyborgs thirsting for blood in a dark alley with nothing but your XXXL oversized laptop bag you now have not one but TWO polymer flails that each crash with the weight of the Apophis meteor on the heads of your foes!

I love alienware, and i have for the past fifteen years. This beast is simply beautiful to look at. its so flipping preeeeeety. It cools pretty damned well too, after a repaste and max fans the hottest the cpu got under load was 81. so sweet right!!! well it stops there, granted i might have gotten bad luck and hyper lost the silicon lottery, but my gtx 1660 ti out preformed this RTX 2070 by 10 fps. identical specs and identical benchmarks. SO either i got a bad gpu or dell severely down clocked their gpu. same resolution and all obviously too.

I bought this in June 2020 and was super excited to get it. I got it and and started this up and the keyboard lit up but the screen remained black. I shut it down 10 + times and finally the screen came on. I figured it was just a hiccup and once I update the drivers it would cease. The screen went black during the startup for the next 2 hours. I finally got through the startup and was able to update the drivers and started using it. After about 45 minutes I got the blue screen crash. Started it up again and got the black screen again. For 2 days it was the same, blue screen crashes and black screen. I returned the computer to Bestbuy and had to wait for a replacement to be mailed. Wasted a whole weekend on trying to fix my 2,800 investment. So I get my replacement and one of the power bricks was bad!! It would not store electricity for me to use the laptop mobile. This time I called Dell and they sent me another area 51m laptop. 3rd time is the charm. No issues. Loving the laptop but I am giving this 3 stars for the faulty hardware. Does Dell/Alienware even test these computers before they ship? Wasted a weekend and I am not happy about that.
