NOT COMPATIBLE WITH PS5
||Posted . Owned for less than 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Monitor aesthetics are great but that is all you get if you are gaming on console. PS5: This monitor is NOT compatible with the PlayStation 5. You will be capped to 60 hz due to communication issues between the monitor and PS5. Neither PlayStation nor Alienware seem to be addressing the issue so I would steer clear of this monitor until others have proven the bug to be patched. Multiple people have also left reviews on Dell/Alienwares website and they have made no responses. I previously had the ASUS VG249Q and was able to run 1080p @ 120 Hz without an issue. Shocking because that is a cheaper monitor and only has HDMI 1.4 ports whereas this one has HDMI 2.0. Talk on forums is that the EDID of the Alienware monitor prevents the PS5 from identifying its capabilities and therefore the ps5 only sends 60hz. Pretty bummed on this one. Wish the technical teams would help the consumers out and push out a patch. Not worth the money at this time.

Dead Pixel After 5 Months
||Posted . Owned for 5 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is a really great gaming monitor. Unfortunately, after purchasing it in July 2020 by December it already had a dead pixel. Which I know can happen but it is quite disappointing coming from such a great company.

Posted .Hi Wichitsuwan,
Thank you very much for your valuable feedback. We are sorry to hear that you are not too happy with your Alienware 25” gaming monitor because its picture is blurry.
Your monitor has a built-in diagnostic tool that helps you determine if any screen abnormality you experience is an inherent problem with your monitor, or with your computer and video card.
To run the built-in diagnostics:
1. Ensure that the screen is clean (no dust particles on the surface of the screen).
2. Press and hold Button 4 for about 4 seconds until a pop-menu appears.
3. Use Button 1 or Button 2 to select the diagnostic tool and use Button 3 to confirm. A gray test pattern appears at the beginning of the diagnostic program.
4. Carefully inspect the screen for abnormalities.
5. Press Button 1 again to change the test patterns.
6. Repeat steps 4 and 5 to inspect the display in red, green, blue, black, white, and text screens.
7. Press Button 1 to end the diagnostic program.
If you do not detect any screen abnormalities upon using the built-in diagnostic tool, the monitor is functioning properly. Check the video card and computer.

Not a good buy for the money
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Gave a 3 star due to the colors from the screen. They seemed to be crowded together making the icons seem distorted and blurry. Returned it for an ASUS VG258 280hz and love it so much more!

A Tremendous Machine
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. When Secretariat won the Belmont Stakes, Chic Anderson who was calling the race said Secretariat was "moving like a tremendous machine." Well the first impression of the Alienware 24.5" gaming monitor is exactly the same. I don't know what else they could have done to improve on this system. Straight out of the box you can tell there is something a little different about this monitor. Every part just feels strong and secure. Assembly is easy. No tools are technically required. The screw for the base can be tightened with your hands by using the attached clip or with a screwdriver if you prefer. Then the monitor clips on easily. Cord management is well thought out as the cords can be placed through the stand for a nice clean look. There is even a cover to put on to hide the connections into the back o the monitor for a perfect look. The system comes with 2 HDMI inputs as well. This allows you to hook up a gaming computer and Playstation, Xbox, or cable input too if you like. Once you are set up and ready to go, you enjoy every aspect of the system. It has an amazing 1 ms response time. There is no input lag here. Everything is smooth as can be, Then the refresh rate is a sizzling 240 Hz. It makes the game look and feel as smooth as can be. All of this comes in full HD 1920 x 1080 resolution. I tried out some easy games with FortNite and TitanFall and it looked amazing. But even with more demanding games, this system will handle it. The screen also is plenty bright. It easily can handle the brightest lit rooms. I was able to play this with the blinds wide open in the middle of the day and the picture still amazing. So you should have no issues with this regardless of the lighting conditions you are working in. Another really cool feature is how easy the picture can be adjusted. You can pan or tilt the screen to fit your needs. You can also easily raise it up and down. Plus if you want, you can even rotate the screen 90 degrees for a portrait image instead of a landscape. The bezel on the screen is very thin all the way around (it looks about 1/8" thick). This is great for matching up multiple monitors together for an expansive image. It should work will in whatever configuration you can create. I am completely blown away with this monitor. I wish I had 2 more to really make a sweet set up. This beast truly is a tremendous machine.

PLEASE READ
||Posted . Owned for less than 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I bought two of these monitors and they both had the same problem. There’s some sort of fan noise or coil whine or something that produces a high-pitched “ping” noise while the monitor is on. I tried every method I could find online to fix it. If you can’t hear high frequencies, it won’t be an issue. For my ears, the noise is quite clear even from 3-4 feet away with my computer and fan running, It sounds like a robotic mosquito or a dog whistle. Gave me a migraine after an hour or so. With good headphones, it really was an excellent monitor.

Great monitor for Tarkov with black levels at 1.
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Fantastic monitor, though mine after 3 years or so developed an issue with the internal fan that made a horrible noise about 2 years in if using the extreme refresh setting, though the extreme settings added overshooting for the pixels which was annoying. Fast response is the way to go on these as doesnt add visual inverse-ghosting or overshooting.

Looks significantly worse than my old tn panel
||Posted . Owned for 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Even after professionally calibrated the colors are terrible, the picture is worse, fast movement seems blurry even on "fast" setting. My 8 year old Asus 144hz monitor was more crisp and had just as good of color. For the price especially I would not recomend buying. I play only competitive shooters (Warzone, fortnite, rogue company) looks like playing on 720p when on 1080. I had a friend get the same monitor and say the same things.

Great gaming experience!
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Coming from an ultra-wide 29”, 3ms, 75Hz IPS (2560X1080) display, I was really interested to find out if I could go back to a widescreen 1080p display, even with all the bells and whistles. Spoilers: I was pleasantly surprised with my experience with the Alienware 24.5” AW2521HFL Monitor. For a quick look here are the main pros and cons. For a more in-depth review just keep reading. Pros: 1. Great futuristic design with RGB options. 2. Excellent adjustability options. 3. Several input/output options. 4. Small bezels. 5. Intuitive on-screen display physical controls. 6. Bright, vibrant graphics. 7. Great viewing angles with low reflection. 8. Incredible smooth graphics and gameplay. 9. Best for competitive gaming. Cons: 1. Very heavy. 2. Bulky design takes too much space. 3. Not great for professional content creation or editing. 4. Needs high-end PC to take full advantage. 5. Not a huge upgrade for casual gaming. The monitor comes well packaged in a massive box. It is easy to retrieve and can be assembled with no tools rather quickly. The monitor is quite heavy coming at almost 13 lbs. assembled, making it a bit difficult and awkward to carry around. I got the Lunar Light version, which is basically white and black. The design is, in my opinion, very stylish and futuristic looking. It is a bit bulky and will not fit flushed against a wall, protruding quite a bit forward -especially the stand, so keep that in mind if you have a small desk. However, the monitor is VESA compatible. The monitor is highly adjustable for height, tilt (-5° to 21°), swivel (-20° to 20°), and pivot (-90° to 90°). The base also features a cable management system, which keeps things clean. The back of the stand has customizable RGB lighting which makes for a very pleasant effect (including the Alienware logo). The monitor offers a great variety of inputs/outputs, including USB 3.0, USB 3.0 for charging, HDMI 2.1 (2), Display port, and audio jacks (i/o). The bezels are incredibly small which makes the screen look a lot bigger. There are accessible control buttons in the back for on-screen display options, which are intuitive to navigate. The screen is very bright (400 nits), displays vibrant colors with great contrast (99% sRGB), and can be customized further in the menu. Still, this monitor is really not recommended for professional video editing or content creation as the color palette is not as accurate. I will say that watching video content is an amazing experience -it almost feels like I was watching HDR content. The IPS panel has impressive viewing angles. The screen is coated so there are minimum reflections. Of course, the main attraction is the 240hz refresh rate and its 1ms response time, and its effect in gaming (if any). Coming from a 75hz display, I must admit that I was blown away immediately. I must mention that I am using a high-end PC with i7-9900k, 32GB RAM and an RTX2080ti Graphics card to support such frame rates. I started with games that push the frames super high such as CS:GO. I noticed the buttery smoothness and target tracking felt much easier. The response felt natural and I seemed to have developed much faster reflexes. Then, I threw in heavily graphical multi-player games, including racing games which do not reach 240fps but run at about 100-140fps. With G-Sync in place, I noticed no tearing and lag at all. I still felt that I had an advantage. Then I really pushed the graphics with a couple of single player adventure games and, while the experience is not as obvious, still looked great and smooth. In the end, I am overly impressed with Alienware’s latest monitor. If you are coming from a 60-75hz monitor, and have the PC rig to match, this is certainly a no-brainer. You will notice the difference and will never go back. I will admit that I do miss my ultra-wide monitor because of the screen’s real state, but it all fades away when playing -especially high speed, high frames, competitive games. Highly recommended.
