Dead Pixel's on 2 returns.
||Posted . Owned for 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Open to changing the review after product fix. This is the 2nd purchase from bestbuy. After finding a dead pixel on the first purchase I returned the product. The only available product in stock was a verified return monitor through geek squad. Being uncertain of the reason the monitor was returned I asked AT LEAST 5 times there would be no issues with the product, they reassured me through pridefully explaining the expertise of Geek Squad. Unpacked the monitor and BAM another dead pixel monitor, this one being right in the middle. Not only defective, I later learned that the product had gone on sale that same day AND had should've had a reduced price because it was a returned item. They did not reduce or refund any of the original purchase price. All in all I am a very reasonable individual and love the monitor. I just want one that is in FULL WORKING CONDITION.

Amazing and perfect
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I was using a triple monitor (3x 27") for a while and thought that was a great setup for me. Boy Alienware proved me wrong with my 1st experience with an Ultrawide. I have since used this 34" and never looked back at going to a multi monitor setup. The OLED is top notch, checks every box and the picture is just beautiful beyond words. Setting up this beast was super easy. My 1 and only gripe comes from this area and only here. The arm attaches to the base with the screw that is built in but the construction is all plastic. I would have thought with this super high end tier class of monitor, there would be more metal for stability. Now admittedly after using it for almost a week (not using a VESA mount) I can say the stand is SOLID and holds up the beast perfectly and with no flaws. There is a lot of play when it comes to getting the monitor at your perfect viewing angle. It offers 110mm up and down adjustment, 21degree tilt going backwards and even 5 degrees forward, 20 degrees rotation left or right and even 5 degrees of angle. Alienware also included DP to DP, USB B to A, and DP - USB C cables for you. Performance is stellar. I can't say enough how I wished I went OLED sooner for not only gaming, but content consumption. Blacks are perfect blacks. Colors pop in ways I never knew possible. It's even calibrated at the factory before being shipped out so you don't even have to fine tune it. HDR looks amazing. Everyone's mileage with vary, but I am using a 3090 in my rig so my experiences are based off that. Gaming blew me away with my rig. The UW could easily display max settings at the stated 165hz and images were super clean. The 3440 x 1440 is surprisingly a great resolution with me coming from a standard 1440 so I didn't take long getting used to the extra real estate. Watched the 4k videos in Japan for the vibrant colors and I just stared for hours on end. Shadow of the Tomb Raider, Cyberpunk, Red Dead 2, Doom and Metro Exodus all blew me away. It was like I was playing these games for the 1st time again. For those worried about burn in, there is a 3 year warranty and also Pixel-Shift that will refresh the screen every 4 hours to prolong the life. I've yet to experience it (knock on wood) but then again, the screen is still new. I'd not only try to convince people ultrawide is amazing instead of multi-monitors, but I would recommend this OLED on top of that for the impressive visuals alone it can produce. I am more than happy and ecstatic that I made the switch and would let anyone know that is in the market to go for this Alienware in a heartbeat.

The best 1440p ultrawide
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I got this monitor for $600 a month ago and I couldn't be happier. I upgraded from a 27" curved 1440p 144hz VA panel and the difference is staggering! I'm driving this monitor with a 4070 Ti Super 16GB and play mostly AAA single-player games. Games look incredible, and most of the time I can reach 100-165 fps at ultra settings (ray tracing disabled) without using DLSS or frame generation. With ray tracing and DLSS quality turned on, I can usually maintain 80-100 fps in AAA games. On older games or indie titles I can easily blow past the 165hz refresh rate PROS: -Perfect blacks -HDR1000 works great for gaming -QD-OLED Colors are incredibly vibrant, calibration out of the box is amazing -At the same frame rate as another panel technology, the motion clarity is way better due to the pixel response time. No more ghosting! -Ultrawide + curved screen is great for immersion, not too aggressive of a curve -Good build quality & the included stand is very sturdy and has lots of degrees of freedom for the monitor -Standard VESA mounting, compatible with most monitor arms (works with Amazon basics and the expensive arms) -I like the little joystick for navigating on-screen display -Panel health software is good for preventing burn-in -HP offers 3 years of burn-in warranty, which is probably the best on the market -Included data cable makes it easy to update firmware (mine was up to date out of the box) -Can't get anything better (as of April 2025) in the $600 range CONS: -QD-OLED sub pixel layout means there is some text fringing. For gaming and watching videos/movies this is inconsequential, but it bothers some people. I wouldn't get this monitor for work or if you read a *lot* of text -In bright environments, the blacks have a purple tint. This is a non-issue if you use it in a dark environment. In a light controlled environment (e.g. you have blinds on your window, or lights in your room aren't super bright) the purple tint is pretty much negligible. *Regardless of light levels in your space, the blacks are still better than IPS/VA/TA because those panel types also suffer from elevated black levels in bright rooms!* -Expensive compared to IPS. High quality IPS panels have very good colors, so you may not notice as big of a difference if you move to this monitor from a high quality IPS panel. -The included stand is quite large, and the legs stick out a bit. I recommend a $35 amazon basics monitor arm at minimum to support this display and save desk space. -This is a slightly older model, from 2022. Not the latest and greatest tech, but still holds up against new 1440p ultrawide OLEDs. Overall I highly recommend this monitor, and many reviewers agree this is the best 1440p OLED ultrawide. Gamers will not regret purchasing it

Faulty by design color looks fantastic
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Look this isnt there yet. Having to refresh the panel once every 4 hours of use is such a chore. Really takes away from the whole experience. Imagine logging on to play a game and this messege pops up telling you to let the monitor refresh for 10minutes. Sure you dont have to do it but now its in the back of your head.

Current Top Monitor of 2023!
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The Alienware AW3423DWF is an amazing gaming monitor. With a high-quality QD-OLED panel that reproduces some amazing eye-popping picture quality, that not only looks good but feels smooth during your gaming sessions. Alienware is so serious about providing you with the best picture quality out of the box that they even included the calibration report. So far I've not made any adjustments to the picture quality. With peak brightness coming in at 1000nits HDR content looks amazing. With deep blacks, it’s hard to go back to an LCD monitor. The risks are still there with OLED like burn-in from static images. One minor detail I’ve noticed is that the text is not sharp due to the subpixel layout of the pixels. Is not a deal breaker, but could be a minor issue if you plan to use it for productivity work. Either way, Alienware knocks it out of the ballpark when it comes to picture quality. As for features, it comes with a 165hz refresh rate with native FreeSync VRR support that’s also G-Sync compatible with NVIDIA graphics cards. For inputs, you get x2 DisplayPort (1.4), and x1 HDMI (2.1). To take advantage of the 165hz refresh rate you will need to connect via the Display Port since HDMI caps out at 100hz. Alienware does include a DisplayPort cable and USB-C to DisplayPort. There are also 2 USB 3.0 Ports that can be connected via USB-B to USB-A to your computer. It also comes with two audio ports, one in the back for your speakers, and the other underneath for your headphones. Some of the other features included are: Console Mode: downscales 4k signal to 1440p signal resulting in a shaper image than a native 1440p signal. Due to the lack of support for ultrawide formats, you will see black bars at the sides. Alienware Command Center: allows you to control the RGB backlighting and other basic functions like power consumption and color profiles. Only compatible with Windows OS. MacOS users will need to use the OSD to change the backlighting. Dark Stabilizer: gamma is adjusted so opponents are easier to see in dark areas. FPS Counter: shows the current FPS of your source. To reduce the risk of burn-in Alienware has an OLED Panel Maintenance feature and backs it up with a 3-year warranty in case of burn-in. Some of the features are Pixel Refresh (every 4hrs runs a pixel shift cycle duration 7mins), Panel Refresh (duration 1hr but after 1500hrs of usage), and last but not least Panel Health (displays a colored dot to indicate if it’s time for a PIxel or Panel refresh). Overall without getting into the nitty-gritty details, Alienware has done an amazing job with this panel. They did not just focus only on picture quality but also made sure that the fundamentals like input lag and refresh rate are at the top of their game too.

Immersive & Smooth – A Dream for Gamers
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Absolutely stunning display! The 34” ultrawide format with 165Hz refresh rate makes everything feel incredibly fluid, whether I’m gaming or multitasking. Colors are rich, blacks are deep, and the curve really pulls you into the experience. Zero ghosting, minimal input lag, and it looks beautiful on the desk. Setup was easy and the build quality is premium. If you’re on the fence—just get it.

Near Perfect Gaming Monitor
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. To me this is the best monitor you can buy for gaming today in this size/form factor. The near-infinite contrast ratio of OLED means you can get a true HDR experience on PC, which is something most other monitors will claim but fall short on. OLED means the risk of burn-in does exist, but as long as your primary use is gaming and content it shouldn’t be a problem and Dell includes a 3-year warranty for this. Opening the box, you’ll first find the stand and accessories. The stand comes in 2 pieces and assembles via a thumbscrews. In the second later is the actual monitor, which can be lifted from the box by installing the stand and lifting with that. It’s a smart way to get such a large screen out of the box with minimal risk of damage. For cables you get a power cable (no power brick), a USB-B to USB-A cable for the built-in USB ports, and 2 DisplayPort cables. The DisplayPort cables consists of one with a full-size connectors on both ends and another with a full-size DisplayPort connector on one end and USB-C on the other. For ports there are 2 DisplayPort (1.4), 1 HDMI (2.0), 4 USB-A 3.2, and a headphone jack. The monitor itself is VERY large, even larger than I was expecting coming from a 32” monitor. This is especially true when connected to the stand. The stand is very stable and has height, tilt, and swivel adjustments. It’s also got a great cable management system that, along with the plastic rear cover, almost completely hides the cables. That being said, it adds a ton of depth, mostly to the rear of the display. This means putting the monitor somewhat flush to the wall is not possible unless you replace it with a monitor arm (a 100mm x 100mm VESA mount is built-in). To get sense for how big this 34” ultrawide display is, it’s roughly the same height as a 27” monitor, but about 34% wider. The display is curved, which I typically don’t prefer but seems appropriate for this size of display and is not something I notice at all during regular use. Getting connected to my PC, my first order of business was to go to Dell’s website and download the latest firmware, as I heard there was some issues with HDR on earlier revisions of the firmware. Once that was done setup was easy since I already have an Alienware PC and the lighting and other effects are managed through the same Alienware Command Center. The monitor settings themself can be accessed and adjusted via a joystick at the bottom of the display, which was relatively easy to navigate, though I will likely download the Dell Display Manager to further manage this in the future. There are several preset display options, though I ended up settling on ‘Creator’ for SDR and ‘DisplayHDR True Black” for HDR as these appeared to be the most ‘accurate’ picture settings. I found the that while the display is 165Hz, it was automatically set to 60Hz by Windows when I first plugged it in, so something to check. With all this dialed and getting into some games, I was astounded mainly by the difference in contrast to my previous IPS display. The ability to display the full range of bright and dark scenes without having the blacks go gray makes such a big difference in my enjoyment of all my games, but especially ones that feature a mixture of both bright and dark scenes like The Last of Us. Colors are vibrant and appear accurate in both HDR and SDR modes (Dell also ships a calibration report in the box, which is a nice touch). I definitely noticed the response times while playing Halo as well and I felt a lot more connected to the actions I was taking in game. The resolution of 3440x1440 is just sharp enough at this display size and has the added bonus of putting less demand on my GPU. The AW2423DWF is not G-SYNC Ultimate certified like the more expensive AW2423DW, but it’s still G-SYNC Compatible and in general all of the games I played were smooth. A little background. I game in my basement away from any windows. I’ve heard comments that the curve of the screen and the coating can result in raised black levels from other light sources and I do notice that somewhat with my overhead lights turned on, but it’s personally not an issue for me. I’ve also read about some issues with the monitor specifically relating to it’s HDR 1000 mode that were supposedly addressed in the latest firmware update. I did briefly try this mode and found it just seemed to raise the brightness of the whole image up, which I did not prefer. The HDR 400 mode was plenty bright for me in the room that I’m in. The nature of OLED technology means there is an inherent risk of burn-in, which can occur when a static image is displayed on the screen too long and is then permanently retained on the screen, usually taking the form of a shadow. Dell has tools built into the display to help mitigate this, including a ‘pixel refresh’ that is prompted to run after every 4 hours of cumulative use. The panel refresh takes less than 10 minutes, though depending on what you’re doing the notification may interrupt an important game. It fortunately does not need to be run immediately and if you are currently using the monitor you can set it to run the next time the display goes to sleep. Dell does offer a 3-year warranty that DOES cover burn-in, so that is nice peace of mind at least. All this just means you have to be mindful about not displaying the same content onscreen for too long and productivity/work is not a good use case for this display. Another downside of this panel is the unique subpixel layout results in subpar text rendering compared to LCD displays. It’s not awful by any means and the larger text used in game menus do not show this issue, but it’s again another reason not to get this monitor for productivity/work. I’d also recommend setting Windows to turn off the display after 5-minutes. Overall I’m really happy with this display. I can’t think of a single thing I’d want from it that it doesn’t have. I know I’m going to stress about the burn-in thing, but I’ll accept that trade-off or the experience I get and I think with my usage gaming a few times a week it’s not really going to be an issue for me anyway.

A Perfect* Monitor.
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.TLDR: It pretty much the perfect monitor. Perfect blacks, insane HDR performance, perfect motion handling, super immersive 21:9 screen ratio, incredible colors, and all for a great price. The only negative is the text fringing because of the subpixel layout. Makes text not as clear. However after a week or two of use I don't really notice it that much anymore. A Little History: I've been PC gaming for over a decade now. I swapped over to PC from PlayStation in 2012. I didn't have a monitor at first and used an old LG 32 inch 720p TV for my first monitor. Since then I have been through many different monitors with different resolutions, refresh rates, and panel technologies. My first monitor was a 24 inch 1080p 60hz TN ASUS monitor. Then I upgraded to a 1080p 144hz TN Acer monitor. After the Acer I wanted to upgrade to 1440p, so I did. I got a 1440p 165hz TN Dell monitor. A bit after that IPS was getting better with response times and I got myself an LG 1440p 144hz IPS monitor. A couple years after that I ended up winning a RTX 4090 in a giveaway and I wanted to try 4K. I ended up going with Gigabyte M32UC. It was 4K 144hz curved Fast VA monitor. The reason I went from IPS to VA was that the VA version was a little cheaper and I wanted deeper blacks. I definitely got that from the M32UC and I loved that monitor. The reason I bring all these past monitors up is to show you I have been around the park on all the technologies. I have used it all and not a single one of them is even close to this OLED monitor. The Right Price: When I bought the Gigabyte VA monitor a couple years ago, I had been wanting an OLED for awhile. The prices for OLED was just a bit too much out of my price range. Always hovering around or above the $1000 mark. My personal budget for monitor is around $600. For the past few months I had been eyeing the 27GR95QE-B on Amazon refurbished for $699. It was $100 over my budget, but it was really tempting. My buddy got one and loved it, but alas I held off on purchase. I am glad I did, because a few months later I saw this monitor available open-box in excellent condition for $650 and finally bit the bullet and order it. The Perfection of OLED: It arrived fairly quick, quicker than what it said it would. I got it in a couple of days and immediately set it up once I returned home from work. It came in the original box fully packaged and the monitor looked practically new. When I turned it on I immediately opened Chrome went to YouTube. I turned on HDR and did the Windows calibration and watched the LG OLED True Black video on there. I was completely floored. The highlights were so bright, but not overly bright and losing detail. The blacks were completely black. The colors were so rich, vibrant, and full. It was perfect. I decided to boot up some games to check out the near instant pixel response times and to check out the ultrawide aspect of it. Battlefield V, Cyberpunk 2077, Elden Ring (Downloaded a mod to make it compatible with the ultrawide aspect ratio) and a few others. Again I was floored. The extra pixels you get on the sides just make every game feel so immersive and the motion was so clear. No blur when moving around the mouse or joystick. It was clear. I'm Closing: I finally knew what HDR was supposed to look like and why people rave about it. I finally got experience perfect blacks, no IPS glow or backlight inconsistencies. I finally had perfect motion, no VA black smearing and motion blur. I finally had the richest colors, no more dull TN colors. Then I finally had an ultrawide for that super immersive gaming experience (also great for movies since movies fill the aspect ratio perfectly). I love this monitor and highly recommend it.

I just wish they had a bigger size!
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. If I can give 10 stars to this AW3423DWF I would've! Listen to this, its OLED, Curved, insanely low latency rate and honestly, not that expensive for what you are getting. The brightness on this thing is unreal, the blacks are so dark and immersive it added extra layer of joy for when playing games like RDR and Forza. whats in the box? you get the monitor, the stand and a plastic cover plate for the back for cable management, you also get every cable you might need to use this montor and even to daisy chain it. one port I wish it had is a display out to link another monitor directly without the need to use a hub or a docking station. putting this thing together takes a minute and the last step is taking the monitor out of the box. its big and bulky, yet not super heavy. the monitor comes color calibrated from the factory with a calibration sheet printed specifically after calibrating this monitor. I like that I am able to set different modes for different viewing modes from gaming to movies to productivity. I like the fact that you can search and update the firmware on this device without the need to take it to a Dell service center, unlike its more expensive elder twin, the AW3423DW. Oh and one more thing, this Monitor has PNP for productivity, what more do you need? This monitor has it all, I just wish they had it in 49 inches.

Alienware AW3423DWF
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The Dell Alienware AW3423DWF,is best ultrawide gaming monitor i 've tested. It's an excellent gaming monitor with high-end performance and fantastic picture quality. It has a 34-inch screen with an 1800R curve that helps bring the edges closer to your field of vision, especially if you sit close to the monitor. The main advantage of this monitor is that it has a near-instantaneous response time for incredible motion handling, so there isn't any visible blur behind fast-moving objects. It also has a 165Hz refresh rate for a smooth and responsive feel. This monitor uses a QD-OLED panel, providing exceptional picture quality. Deep blacks are visible next to bright highlights in dark rooms, and colors are vivid and life-like. This makes it an ideal choice for playing HDR games as highlights also pop. [12:22 AM] Has low input lag for a responsive feel.It has a max refresh rate of 165Hz that you can reach over a DisplayPort connection. And it supports all common VRR formats to reduce screen tearing. It's a great choice for dark room gaming as it displays perfect black levels in a dark room without any blooming around bright objects. [12:25 AM] Is exceptional with HDR. It displays deep blacks in dark rooms thanks to its near-infinite contrast ratio, and there isn't any blooming around bright objects either. Its QD-OLED panel also displays a wide range of colors, making them bright. [12:25 AM] Has outstanding color accuracy. Its dedicated sRGB mode has extremely accurate colors, and it isn't necessary to calibrate it. It also keeps this accurate image consistent across the entire screen thanks to its fantastic gray uniformity. In a short, I recommend it 100 percent

OLED is the Future
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I upgraded from an ASUS 34" LED Backlit Ultrawide and let me tell you, the jump from LED to OLED is the biggest upgrade I could have made to my 3080 gaming setup. I feel the 34" QHD Ultrawide is the sweet spot currently for pixel density and performance. I saw this screen side by side with the LG 45 in QHD Ultrawide and I preferred the sharper image on this 34". It is subjective but I felt the 45" was too much and the image clarity definitely took a hit, at least for my setup and it had significant issues with text that I could see clearly on the demo unit. This unit, while the text still has some OLED Text artifacts, is still super crisp when sitting about 18 inches away and the issues are only noticeable if you really look for it by getting way too close. This monitor has excellent brightness. It took some tinkering to get the HDR to work properly but once I figured out how to get Auto HDR enabled along with the HDR 1000 preset on the monitor, this thing has blown me away. It is way brighter than my prior LED and the contrast and clarity I see in games such as MW3 is insane. No more backlight bleed on dark scenes!!!! It is important to note, if you want 10 bit HDR, you will be capped at about 100hz unless you decide to tinker. If you are ok with 8 bit, then that will work up to 165 hz out of the box. Considering I max out all of my games for fidelity and barely get over 100 fps anyway, I am ok with this, and I can always tinker with custom settings later if I feel like it. I am only marking down Ease of Use to 4 stars as it did take some research and tinkering of monitor settings to take full advantage of the advertised features but other than that this is a great monitor!

Absolutely phenomenal superwide monitor. Owned 1yr
||Posted . Owned for 1 year when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Absolutely stunning monitor. Owned it for a year so far. Love the colors and the inky blacks. The oled refresh thing takes a bit gettinf used to but overall I have no complaints. The fact that Samsung/Dell makes this monitor makes it even better. The super wide works in most games. I already had a nice asus monitor but once I heard destiny 2 supported superwide i got even more excited. I don't overclock this monitor because it is good as it is.
