With the newest firmware update at time of review (1.04) HDR is incredible in-game. Sucks its pnly 165hz rather than the 240hz in used to. I was very hesitant but i made the switch from 16:9 to 21:9 and will never go back.
Monitor supports dell display software to change monitor settings and hdr modes on the fly so there is no hassel with the monitor hardware interface button. (Little 4-directional button on bottom middle of monitor.) Honestly is a great interface and easy to navigate.
NOTE TO NEW USERS OF QD-OLED. This monitor features a 4 hour pixel refresh sync to keep the colors from bleeding and to align the light panel back to standard. I have extensively gamed from 4-8 hours on days off of work and skipped the on-screen pop up reminder once or twice a week. And will often skip the reminder to extend from 4 to 5 hours to enjoy end of day routine with emails/movies/youtube. You WILL want to apply the refresh manually through the interface when turning the monitor off over night. This is just proper maintence for QD OLED to prevent burn in and dead pixels. If this concerns you to have still images on the desktop for long periods of time. I recommend a few things to prevent long-term issue.
If using for productivity, set windows task bar to auto hide so that you dont have any risk of burning in the bar at bottom of screen. If using split screen mode and splitting monitor apps in half, ocassional change where the :line: between programs would sit for extended hours. Let the pixels see something new every once in a while.
If u are doing rhe pixel refreshes this shouldnt ever be an issue, but if you skip them occasionally and want to have your 8-12 hour game fest weekend i recommend still applying at least once during your session. Refresh is 6-8 minutes.. literally stand up, get water, restroom, food is important. It will be ready when u return to turn the screen back on. Its not a big issue.
Best monitor ive used in a wild. The HDR true black is a treat i would recommend to everyone to experience in their life.
Would give 6 stars if i could.
If you face these weird burn in or color issues get the warrantied replacement, its their for a reason. Only defective panels should truly get this, if u have issues, it was probably defective anyways. Some things in life happen, we have services for a reason. Dont let strange reviews pull you away from a beautiful product.

I also don’t get any headaches from playing without any blue light glasses! Curved monitor is the way to go.

This is TRUE HDR/OLED Gaming! BEST OF 2023!!!

In all my years of looking at monitors, I have never seen anything as beautiful as this. This is downright the best monitor I have ever laid my eyes on in the existence of PC gaming. And while there are super Ultra Wide monitors, they can reach 49 inches this one can give a much more impactful experience than anything you can imagine.
The Alienware 34” QD-OLED AW34DWF is literally my favorite monitor of 2023. There is absolutely nothing like looking at all the OLED technology, it’s absolutely stunning, and this is got to be the pinnacle of PC gaming in my eyes. The UltraWide is very beautifully crafted from design to the stand, there are some great features that I love about this monitor as well.
Display: It is one of the most beautiful displays I’ve seen in a very long time. They are deep levels of black, and every angle is viewable with no light emitting from the back LCD. This means blacks are SUPER black and contrast/colors are eye-popping. Viewing anything on the display stands out perfectly and I’m actually surprised Alienware made something like this. I have never experienced gaming on this level.
HDR and auto HDR seems to work fine on this display. Which just adds to the perfectness of this monitor. Dell / Alienware provides a comprehensive calibration report for your device at the factory so you can see the test of color, accuracy, and consistency as well as their grayscale testing and tracking. And while I wanna do individual testing myself, I truly take their word on the report. This is something I feel like customers need in order to know what they are truly buying in the display and I love it. This to me means I could just go use it without worrying about it.
My natural reaction was to test games, picking out some interesting, colorful titles. I wanted to see pop on this display. And boy oh boy it did! “Forza Horizon” had so much better color accuracy with HDR & designing your own gave even more color personalization. You can see each small change in color. I’m driving on this QD-OLED Monitor is so good!
I quickly moved on to a fighting game, called “GrandBlue Fantasy: Versus” which heightens every single color from what it naturally is. The outline of each character for black was simply amazing paired together with this monitor. At every stage, the background popped out with massive, overly bright colors that only OLED can provide. I can’t stop looking at it.
Display resolution is 3440 x 1440 @ 165hz using FreeSync. This is probably one of the best you can get at this point in my opinion. They work together flawlessly when paired with a good GPU. It reaches a peak brightness of 1000 nits. The text in my eyes is sharp and doesn't have any issues reading when on a website.
The monitor comes with every cord you need to get started in the box and hook your PC to it. It comes with: DisplayPort, USB to Displayport, Power A/C, Cleaning cloth, and USB uplink cords are provided so you have to buy NOTHING extra to get the best possible gaming experience.
And obviously, the discussion of OLED should also bring up the discussion of Burn-in. And while I can’t prove to you that it won’t cause burning in Alienware, give a three-year warranty for something like that in case it happens.
The monitor also comes with a feature called “pixel-shift” which turns off the display after every four hours, so It can keep the monitor health good as long as it can. This can last up to 4 to 7 minutes and it’s a pretty quick process. You must turn the monitor on afterward. If you want to test Burn-in yourself; the easiest way to test for Burn-in is open up MSPaint and make the content 3440 x 1440, then fill it with dark gray and then F11 full screen.
There are so many features in this Alienware 32” QD-OLED I don’t think I can put them all in a review text. But some of the cooler menu features are here like Dark stabilization, Console Mode, Game Enhance mode, Picture in Picture…There are 2x display port, and 1x HDMI all of which supports auto-switching between the inputs. You have many options and possibilities for hooking up a device.
At the end of all, it is just an amazing display. It’s really really good. I can’t believe this is where display tech has gotten and it’s OLED. This is definitely one of the most phenomenal products have ever owned. If I can give it more than five stars, I definitely will give it 10. Playing games, watching movies or animation, watching videos...it all gave me one of the best PC experiences I've ever had. If I could have a gamers choice award for the best monitor display of 2023...it would be the Alienware QD-OLED AW3423DWF. Flat out.

It’s UltraWide, it’s OLED, and it rocks. Alienware nailed this one. It’s not overly stated. It’s just a good monitor. It’s OLED so watch out for burn in. It does a pixel refresh every four hours but make sure it doesn’t stay on overnight. The picture is incredible and HDR is impressive. Games look incredible. With freesync premium variable refresh rate works well with my RTX 3080. It’s a definite buy.

This monitor is an excellent choice for an oled display that also offers an UW aspect ratio. The 165hz refresh rate is nice and smooth, not much different from similar resolution monitors at 240hz. The response time and colors are fantastic and the care settings for the display also set me at ease since I usually spend most of my time playing MMOs. There's also Alienware's warranty to consider as well. For the price, and compared to other monitors in a similar price point, you'd do well to at least consider this powerhouse of a monitor.

This is hands down one of the biggest game changers when gaming. The picture quality is absolutely stunning. The color is vivid and clear. I tried purchasing another display and returned it for this one. Nothing beats an OLED display and now I want to switch all of my screens to the. You gotta get it. i love you also do not need a special mount mount it.

So, for context, i have owned a LOT of premium displays. Ive had 4 LG OLED tvs over the years, ive had two Q9 series Qled LED tvs from samsung, and now this QD OLED monitor. Im impressed. Theres a noticable brightness increase on highlights compared to standard OLED screens. Colors are vibrant at all luminence levels. After previously gaming on 4k panels, i was nervous to "downgrade" to a 1440p panel, but combined with the QD OLED and the screen size, the clarity is more than adequate. Id definitely make sure youre pairing it with a high end GPU to make the most of it with these modern games. I have an AMD 7900 XTX and im not maxing out the 165 hz refresh rate in more demanding games. If youre on the fence, and can afford it, just do it. Its awesome tech and you wont need anything else for a long time.

Wow, what a great addition to the space. I love how wide this is compared to our other monitors. The curve heightens the experience while playing. Helping to give the feeling of being immersed and locked into the game. The Oled screen is wonderful, crisp and clear. The blacks are great. The colors a vivid and bright. I love the glowing ambient light that emits from both sides in the back. Game play is magnificent and handles the types of games we play perfectly. Performance is quick and punchy.
There are a couple things that I don’t like but the performance and quality of it helps me to overlook them. I wish that it came with a remote and it doesn’t have speakers. My other monitor came with these and it was great and helpful to have. I would have at least loved to have a simple remote to turn it on and off and navigate the settings menu and inputs. I found navigating the menu a little difficult at first and took away a bit of excitement. I definitely could overlook the monitor not having speakers, so I could fully control my own sound. It just would’ve been nice to have.
It comes with several cords to connect to several different games, devices etc. and neatly fits in and behind the monitors stand. It helps with cord management and clutter. I love that. The height is adjustable. It has rotation to the left and right, up and down, and forward and back. Overall it’s a great monitor and It’s our first Alienware product. If I was looking for another monitor, I would buy this again although it lacks a remote. The quality is nice.

OMG! Hands-down The Best Gaming Monitor!

This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.
Let’s just get straight to the point: This display is amazing for gaming (and pretty much anything else!) Colors are vivid and want to pop right off the screen. Blacks are inky and because it’s an OLED, there is no blooming like you’ll find with LEDs or even the more recent mini-LEDs. Each pixel can be illuminated individually meaning the contrast can be infinite. There’s no backlight, hence no backlight bleed. This monitor is pretty much the perfect combination of size, aspect ratio, resolution, screen technology, color gamut, etc. for almost any gamer.
The monitor follows the design pattern of the latest Alienware laptops, which like the namesake can best be described as sci-fi themed. Excellent build quality with RGB customizable “34” and Alienware logo on the back. The stand is stable, 3-way adjustable, and includes cable management, but will take up a fair amount of room on your desk, particularly front to back. It includes an HDMI 2.0 port (limited to 100hz) and 2 DisplayPort 1.4 inputs (175 hz). It also doubles as a USB 3.2 hub with two ports in the back and two under the front of the panel left of center. I like the ones up front because it allows me to place my USB receiver as close as possible to my wireless mechanical keyboard.
The monitor comes with a printout detailing the results of the factory calibration. That’s right, you don’t need to do anything when you take it out of the box to have a great gaming or movie experience. It supports 99.3% of the DCI-P3 colors space and there is also a Creator mode that can be toggled on to allow you to do some color accurate work.
As mentioned above, gaming is simply amazing. My usual shooter, Fortnite, has never looked better. It really benefits when played on this monitor as it’s such a colorful game. Same is true for Forza Horizon 5. Even though my old monitor supported HDR, I never played with it enabled because it didn’t do a great job and everything looked washed out. The AW34 nails HDR, so much so that I leave it on all the time even on the Windows desktop. I found myself loading up games I haven’t played in years just for my jaw to drop when I saw how beautiful they had become. The HDR effects in Shadow of the Tomb Raider or Halo Infinite I had missed out on in my first playthrough. I’ve had HDR monitors that could somewhat do the brightness, but not one of this caliber that could hit both the shadows and bright parts of a scene at the same time. My old monitor also has a much faster refresh rate than this Alienware but I don’t think it matters. This monitor is uber fast. Thanks to an absurd response time and little to no motion blur, games that are running at the max refresh rate on the AW34 appear to be just as fast as when I play on my old (but more expensive) 240hz LCD monitor.
It's also great for movies. “1917” (2019) has one of the best scenes for showing the range of HDR. About halfway through the movie the main character is running for his life at night through the ruins of a French town while flares and muzzle flashes are lighting up the scene from all directions. I turned the monitor to HDR Peak 1000 mode which really showed just how incredibly bright the burning city square could be when he stops and encounters a German soldier who sends him running again. I was left to marvel at how this display could produce the perfectly black silhouette of the main character against the incredibly bright fires in the same frame. This scene will make you squint a bit!
Because it’s an OLED screen it could suffer from burn-in (where static elements like your Windows start menu or taskbar can get “burned-in” to the screen) and to combat this it includes two functions: Pixel Refresh and Panel Refresh. Pixel Refresh by default wants to run every 4 hours but you can also tell it to only run when the monitor is in standby. It takes about 6-8 minutes and the power led will be flashing green while it’s performing this. Panel Refresh is similar except the monitor will run it every 1500 hours and it takes about an hour. While Pixel and Panel Refresh might seem like a downside it really isn’t once you understand what they do and most of the time you won’t even be around when it does a refresh. However, I haven’t experienced Panel Refresh yet since the monitor is still new.
The only downside I can think of is the screen is glossy and is not going to work as well if you have a window behind you or in a very bright room like an office. You’ll have the best experience in as dark of space as possible. Light reflecting off the glossy coating will make those inky blacks become slightly less black. Even so, I’d probably still opt for this monitor even if the lighting conditions aren’t ideal. It's that good.
The other thing to do if you buy this monitor is make sure you update the firmware if it doesn’t have at least M3B103. Some games such as Jedi: Survivor will have issues in HDR mode without this firmware.
Pros:
21:9 3440x1440p QD-OLED
165hz Refresh Rate
Beautiful Vivid Colors
Black as Ink
Ridiculous Response Time
Screen Uniformity
No Motion Blur (I’m serious!)
Best HDR I’ve Seen on Windows
Subtle but Effective Curve
Supports VESA Mount
Comes With Cables and Sticker
Cons:
Best in Dark Rooms
Overall – It’s hard to beat this monitor, it’s near perfect and highly recommended! If you’re currently gaming on “just” an LED monitor it’s time to upgrade to OLED!

By far the best monitor I’ve experienced and I’ve been through many many monitors! The curved and ultra wide experience is something I love it’s very unique and I only play one game which is NBA2K so that experience is super dope! Also this runs in 4K resolution once in console mode! That’s another cool feature this monitor has! I can go on and on! The material of the screen is next level! It’s oled so you yeah! This is def my number 1 monitor until I try the LG 45 inch ultra wide curved. Def get this one if you can afford too!

Fantastic with only one little complaint - it tries to get you to do an update at random times which pops up a window that blocks out a large portion of the middle screen. Not ideal when it happens to be right in a gaming session in a critical shootout.
Otherwise, the graphics are great, the settings are easy, and has nice colors.

Great monitor and super clean and liquid look. Super bright and super slick design. Makes gaming amazing with its quick refresh rate. After a month, one of my pixels seem to be burned in. Called Dell Support and they sent me a brand new one in 3 days and I sent back my old one entirely free of charge. I also love that I didn’t need to send it in first and go without for 3 days. They let me keep the monitor until my replacement came. Haven’t had any issues since then. It also includes a refresh pixel feature and refresh panel feature that you can’t find on other displays. This is a top notch quality monitor and has actually helped me improve my gameplay experience and I swear I see people before they see me. Super smooth!

The display quality is incredible, as you'd expect from an OLED, and the build quality is excellent. The four USB-A ports are more than most competitors have, and let me plug in my mouse, keyboard, webcam, and microphone directly into the monitor. Great value. It is on the smaller side for an ultrawide, so you'll probably still need one or two additional monitors flanking it for proper multitasking.

The Alienware - AW3423DWF 34" Quantum Dot OLED… Quick a mouthful, but nonetheless it
delivers on multiple fronts with rich feature sets.
The TLDR - If you are in the market for a top tier ultrawide 2k monitor, look no further.
Pros:
> OLED panel does extremely well with regards to response times along with no observable
ghosting.
> Color space is impeccable due to the OLED panel, colors truly pop and make the experience
surreal. This panel makes me truly want to game because of the new look and feel provided by
the color depth & richness. Really felt this when playing some of my favorites such as
Borderlands, Fortnite, etc.
> Curved screen makes gaming/movie watching experience more immersive. At first I thought I
wouldn't like it but it has grown on me and I kind of wish all my other monitors had the same
1800R curvature.
> Design language of the monitor keeps it looking very modern with a touch of futuristic vibes,
meanwhile not being too flashy.
> Build quality seems exceptional in regards to both the monitor & stand. I personally mount
mine on a VESA arm to reduce desk space clutter, but when using the stand i definitely felt the
sturdiness and quality.
> Feature rich settings to tune the monitor to your liking
Cons:
> HDMI 2.0 port instead of 2.1 - felt the omission of 2.1 limited my experience here when i
hooked up the monitor to my PS5 (was capped at 2k resolution @ 60 Hz instead of 2k @
120Hz). Would have loved to see a monitor at this price point provide at least a HDMI 2.1 port.
> UI/UX of monitor settings could be better. Felt like there was a bit of clunkiness in the way the
menus & options were laid out. I almost couldn’t find my way back to turning off the monitor’s
setting for toggling off the frame rate (took me a while to get there & took me even longer to get
there again to turn it off).
For reference, this monitor was paired with my desktops (one running 5900x + 6900XT & the
other running 12900k + 3080ti) and my PS5 for testing. Definitely happy with the framerates the
monitor is cappable of when running alongside hardware which could push it to it’s limits.
Games i play tested on the monitor were Borderlands, Fortnite, Apex, Call of Duty MW2,
League of Legends, Starcraft 2, Elden Ring, & Need For Speed Unbound. Each game felt like a
new experience and the vibes to game are coming back stronger than ever.
Summing up my experience into one word: WOW! I thought i was happy with my LG C2 42”
OLED TV for gaming, however this Alienware ultrawide has taken its place. I couldn’t
recommend this monitor more for gamers & those who are looking to get motivated to game
again. You won’t regret it!

For the price (on sale) of this monitor, you can’t do any better. Paired up with a gaming laptop with a fast processor and gpu, this thing rocks! The 1500r curve is perfect (as is the size). The syncing is great with no lag. The blacks are BLACK. Gaming is crisp and concise, especially when HDR is enabled. It’s a good idea to search around online for the best GPU settings. The user interface could be improved. Other than that absolutely no complaints… except for Best Buy using a horrible shipping service called Roadie! They delivered to the wrong address and I had to go out late at night to find my monitor.
