Would not recharge when new right out of the box. Only works as a wired mouse so is ten times more expensive than a regular one. Battery is an integrated rechargeable one so can even be replaced with a working one. Mostly useless.

Decent gaming mouse, too slippery for me

This is the first wireless mouse I've owned. I like that you have the option of using the included cord or not, depending on your choice. You can use the removable USB cable to charge the mouse or the mouse can charge wirelessly. You may use the USB-C transmitter (there is also an included legacy USB adapter for older computers) or Bluetooth to connect the mouse to the computer. The biggest thing for me to remember is to turn off the mouse when I'm not using it. Thankfully the mouse doesn't use much power when sitting idle, so even if I forget occasionally, it's not a big deal. For a gaming mouse, I found it to be a bit thin and slippery. There is a bit of texture on the sides, but I prefer a rubberized mouse for a good grip. The primary button (left for most people) makes a pretty loud clicking sound with each use and has a very mechanical feel. I would expect a mouse from the Alienware brand to feel a bit more subtle in both the clicking noise and the feel of the mouse, since it's intended for use in gaming. I played a few different games to try it out, from simple things like Solitaire that came with my computer, Wolfenstein The New Order (first person shooter) and Torchlight 3, which is similar to Diablo (lots of mouse clicking). It performed pretty well, though I think the smooth sides of the mouse kept me from keeping a good grip on it at all times. You can download the software and manuals for the mouse from Dell, you can customize the mouse for each different game using the software and adjust various setting for the mouse itself. Overall I think it's a good mouse, maybe not the perfect mouse for me because of hand size and texture preference. I think it will be a good mouse for me when traveling with my laptop, since I hate to use trackpads on a laptop.

The Dell Alienware tri-mode wireless gaming mouse is a perfect companion for my Alienware X15 or any other laptop for that matter. As with many Alienware products the Alienware line products match each other in looks and quality. The Alienware Tri-Mode gaming mouse has total of 8 buttons. Of course it has the RGB alien head on the mouse that you can sync with your Alienware Command Center. It is very light weighing in at on 0.33 grams and the this units also sports fast charging that will get you up to 20 hours of gameplay with only a five minute charge. As the name of the product implies it has three modes which you can connect to your computer with giving you a lot of options for connectivity. I appreciate this aspect wry much. It includes a wireless 2.4GHz USB C dongle. You can also connect via Bluetooth 5.1 or just straight through with the USB C cable which I might add is a very nice soft braided cable. It also includes this clip that you can use to pull out the tiny wireless receiver that connects to the mouse itself. Performance wise this gaming mouse is great. It has 26,000 DPI which gives you smooth and precise movements. I’ve been playing a lot of Warzone with it and it performs exceptionally well and battery life has been holding up well after only one charge I’ve been getting days worths of gaming. I really prefer this style of gaming mouse as to those monstrosity of mice with a million buttons and it matches my Alienware setup perfect.

    Great Gaming Mouse

This is a great ambidextrous gaming mouse. Whether you're righ or left handed, this mouse will feel comfortable and easy to use. Having large hands, I'm a bit picky about the mice I use, and this mouse is bit smaller than most mice that I have used, but it was still comfortable and easy to use. The Alienware Command Center software you must download to adjust settings on the mouse is ridiculous. I get it, Dell has one program that covers all their peripherals, but I don't want to download software that takes over the power management of Windows 11 just so I can change the basic settings like DPI on this mouse. While gaming I did not notice any lag. It performed exactly like a wired mouse. The only issue I have with the mouse itself is that if it sits for a bit, it shuts itself off, which I understand is for saving battery power, but when it wakes up it takes a few seconds for it to fully wake and remember what DPI you are using. It can be annoying. None of the other wireless mice I have used lately do this. Hopefully a firmware update can fix this. Likes: 1.) Comfortable 2.) Good battery life 3.) No lag Dislikes: 1.) Slow to fully wake after it goes into standby mode 2.) Bloatware software just to change mouse settings

    Solid Gaming Mouse

This is a mouse anyone can be happy with. I will start first with saying it is in fact as it is advertised - silky-smooth. Plugged in or Bluetooth, I was happy with it the moment I needed to use either. The RGB aspect of the mouse is always a nice touch and can accent your setup nicely as it did mine but that is a constant in the Alienware style of devices. I have an Alienware x17 R1 and the Bluetooth was extremely responsive as I play action/fighting games most of the time. The only thing I can really say negatively about the mouse is that its ambidextrous grip makes for a narrower style of mouse. I have a large hand and the kind of mouse I prefer is wider so I feel like I'm more in control and more comfortable. Because this mouse was narrower I felt like I had to narrow my grip while using it which can be and did cause me to be a little distracted when I was gaming. So if you have a small to medium size hand I think you would be very happy with this mouse for your gaming, office, or administrative needs. I’ve always been a fan of Alienware products as they have dramatically improved as of late in terms of performance and style. Give it a try!

I really like the shape, build quality, and features of this mouse. But what really triggers me to drop this from a 5 star mouse to 1 star is the lack of re-mapping the side buttons for media controls like volume. I'm seriously shocked that a $130 mouse is missing a feature found on $20 mice. I have to use 3rd party software just have this feature, apparently Alienware mice have always had this issue for years now so It means Dell just doesn't really care to fix it.

I have found over the years that gaming mice have gotten ridiculous. Too many buttons, more LED lighting than a Christmas tree, ungainly ergonomics – the list goes on and on. This is not the case with the Alienware AW720M, it is exactly what I look for in a mouse. The AW720M has a minimalist design that concentrates on form and function over flash. In review: Build – The mouse has a fine textured finish on the sides and smooth top buttons. Weight is just right, not too light and not too heavy for extended use. I never cared for the trend to make a mouse so lightweight that it flexes when pressed. The AW720M scroll wheel has an excellent rubberized textured finish. Everything is built to true top of the line standards. Buttons – In a word, perfect. Every button has just the right amount of travel and pressure. I have found that some other gaming mice have made the buttons so easy to press that it causes erroneous clicks. The scroll wheel is very precise with just enough resistance to give you the best response. Ergonomics Mice with too many buttons tend to be too awkward and become uncomfortable after extended use. I find myself shifting my hand on the mouse or switch positions because it just doesn't feel right. That is not the case with Alienware AW720M, it feels like a regular well designed mouse that should fit most hands ( it can be used right or left.) In conclusion, this is a great mouse. As soon as you start using it, you will be able to tell that someone put a lot of thought into the form and function. It is exactly what I look for in a gaming mouse – good fit, minimal buttons, no elaborate LED lights comfortable and long battery life. Performance was spot on a in every aspect. You can download the software to fine tune the settings, but it probably is not necessary (the program took a while to install and did not do much.) Overall, this is a solid mouse that I am not only going to use for games but all my everyday use. The only area I see that it falls short is the price. It is not crazy but the Alienware AW720M would be a home run if it was.
