Couldn’t be happier with my purchase, wonderful laptop and a dream to game with. Is a bigger laptop than pictures can show, and I mean that in a good way. Not “bulky” big, just not “small”.

Good specs all around but it is a little pricey for what it is. Love the screen even though its not 140! Keyboard is solid and the material used is premium except for the plastic at the back. Gets quiet hot and battery life is very low but thats how gaming laptops are in general

Really nice computer and looks amazing with the backlit keyboard being able to chance to so many different colors. Did think it was bit over priced but overall still liked it, if you have the money then go ahead and buy it! Shouldn't be disappointed!!

I was very excited to get an Alienware, the last Alienware I had was a 17 R2 with the 970m and I had zero issues with it. Moving on to buying this one I was excited & it was a good performing machine, let me be clear you can get MUCH more value & performance for the money. Anyways, this laptop blue screened on me 22 days into using it, so I contacted Alienware tech support & they were awesome & helpful but, we came to the conclusion that the Ram failed causing the blue screens. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic I was unable to obtain the part that I needed which was the motherboard cause the Ram is soldered onto the board meaning you can’t upgrade or remove the ram alone. So, I ended up returning the unit & not going with another Alienware. I went with the 17.3 Dell G7 with all the same specs but I also got a 1TB HDD plus the 256 SSD & I ended up losing out on the 144hz screen but I saved more money. Plus my new laptop I exchanged this one for is upgradable, so I can remove & or replace the ram HDD & more. For $1,899.99 this is NOT worth it to be honest with you, look around.. You can do better, I did.

    Completely baffled by the quality

This thing looks completely baller and 100% money; that's where it ends. 1. Light bleed is beyond bad especially from both top corners. 2. Heat management sucks therefore you NEED to undervolt, which the average user won't do. (The motherboard is inverted, so re-pasting the cpu is a nerve-wrecking experience since you have to take the entire board out). 3. The trackpad, probably due to the coating they used to match the white paint scheme, is impossible to use with windows gestures. Simple things like 2 finger scroll DOES NOT WORK. Those 3 things points above were enough to make me return this very pricey machine. Had I kept it longer, I may or may not have ran into other issues, but at this point, I am glad I didn't keep it long enough to see!

      TechFreak,

We're sorry to hear about the issues that you've experienced so far. Alienware's Control Center does offer heating options to help control the overheating that you're experiencing on your computer.

If you feel like you need to re-calibrate your touchpad you can follow these steps:

Some Notebooks and Tablets with Keyboards have added gesture features to the touchpad hardware and drivers. A few of these features are two or three finger scrolling, pinch zoom, circle zoom, rotate and swiping. These new features may be the reason for the erratic cursor movement since most are turned on by default. You can disable or modify the way the features work in the touchpad driver properties. Here are some tips to modify these settings:

      1. In the Search box, type main.cpl.
      2. Touch or click main.cpl in the list of programs.
      3. Touch or click the Dell Touchpad tab.
      4. Touch or click on the picture of the touchpad.
      5. Touch or click Gestures (depending on your computer there may not be a Gestures option).
      6. Change the options as preferred.
      7. Touch or click Save.
      8. Touch or click the X in the upper-right corner to close the Dell Touchpad Utility.
      9. Touch or click OK on the Mouse Properties window.
      10. If the touchpad still does not work after following the preceding steps, refer to Dell Knowledge Base article - http://dell.to/2iaiujA.

You can read the full article here - http://dell.to/2tqmS02.

If you need to reach out to Dell's Technical Support Team with additional questions, you can contact them here: http://dell.to/2sH7Qlm.
