    I jumped on this one when it was on sale recently and expected it to be excellent for gaming. However, I experienced frame drops and stuttering in multiple games - even at medium settings. I checked Reddit & it appears there is a known issue with the Dell Support Assist software causing this behavior, but after dropping close to $2K on a laptop, I decided dealing with Dell's faulty software is not worth it.,

    Huge disappointment!

    It was good when it worked for two weeks. Since the start the Microsoft store didn't work, the xbox app didn't work so I was never able to claim the free 30 days membership, and now the battery doesn't even charge. I just get this error the AC power adapter wattage and type cannot be determined the battery may not charge. Sad, what a waste. I was really excited after reading all the good reviews. Didn't expect this many problems.

    Great Computer with a really really big charger

    This computer is amazing. Amazing specs with its Nvidia graphics Card, Intel Core i7 processor, SSD, and more. Has a flawless display and the computer looks really sleek in design. Unfortunately, this computer does have the biggest charger I have ever seen. It weighs a lot too which makes this computer not exactly portable. I wish it also had more than 2 USB ports, as well. Overall great computer but I might have gotten a different computer if I would have known about the charger size.

    A Powerful Gaming Laptop

    After a few weeks of using this new gaming laptop I am very satisfied with its look, feel, and performance. Most importantly, it performs right out of the box. It was easy to setup and make a few adjustments to the RGB keyboard lighting to set the mood. First thing I did after setup was to find the most graphic intensive game that we had and install it. I won't call out the brand of the game but needless to say it is one that has given several other gaming laptops and even mid range gaming desktops problems with lag. I was pleased to see that it worked perfectly without any lag, and that the recommended graphics settings for the game were very near the max. After that, I tried a few other games to see if there was any trouble taking advantage of the GeForce GPU. So far, all of the games have worked great and I am happy with the gaming ability. I can't see needing anymore power than this for quite a while. There has been no overheating and the fans are very quiet. Besides the gaming capability I also use this laptop for my workstation and it has a few other nice features that I would like to point out. First, the built in video camera is higher quality than my previous laptops. Streaming meetings for work is in high definition and lag free. Also, the ports are all located on the back of the laptop instead of on the sides, so the extra clutter on my desk is minimized. The power cord seems oversized compared to other laptops but is probably needed to accommodate the powerful GPU required for gaming. For the same reason, the laptop is heavier than a normal laptop. Aesthetically, the laptop is also pleasing. I like that it is all black and that it has RGB lighting on both the keyboard and the rear of the laptop. The little alien button used to wake the computer is also a nice touch. Overall, I haven't run into a single issue with this laptop so far and am pleased with nearly every aspect of it. I would recommend it to others.

    laptop is heavy. Buying open box was a mistake. Buying new might be the better way. Call support from dell and best buy. Told me replacement parts could take up to 8 weeks which seems a little for parts.

      Using the TCC Offset Controller:

      1. Controller is located in BIOS under CPU Management.
      2. User can set TCC Offset value between 0 and 15
      3. TCC Offset 0 = 100C Max CPU Temp
      4. TCC Offset 15 = 85C Max CPU Temp
      5. This feature, when available, impacts all USTT profiles.
      6. This means that if the user were to change the value, it would be applied to Balanced, Cool, Quiet, and Performance Modes.

    Good while it lasted (may change after fixed)

    Had this laptop for 2 weeks. It had a slight problem at boot up but worked great. Around the two week mark it would not display anything and had a problem starting up. Took it in to get fixed. If it works when it gets back I will rate it higher but can't until then.

    Having few performance issues.

    The laptop was working fine for simpler tasks. When working on memory intense tasks it was giving up. Got blue screen of death multiple times. It was good for gaming though. I guess the laptop I purchased has issues nothing to do with the Alienware m16z

    Ram must be sourced through Dell at 5x markup when it is in stock. About as fast as my 8th gen I 7. Not sure what settings are different but the new one should not seem slower half the time. Or does enough ram matter that much.

    Wish I could have loved it

    While I would have loved to absolutely love this computer, the audio quality was just awful. The computer had issues freezing and for the price I paid, I shouldn’t have had to reinstall everything repeatedly to get it to work. I initially purchased and exchanged for the same laptop within 24 hours because the audio completely didn’t work and then within 10 days the exchange had major issues. I ended up exchanging for an acer.

    DO NOT BUY THIS PIECE OF JUNK

    After 3 months the graphics card stopped working. I contacted Dell and they have to replace the complete motherboard. Unfortunately, it’s on back order and they can’t give me an estimated time for when it will be fixed. I requested they replace it instead and they just ignore me, saying they appreciate my patience and it will be fixed as soon as possible. So much for Dell’s come back. I’ll never buy from them again.

    Power cord falls out constantly during gaming, crushing my framerate and immersion. Such a bad design. There's also no USBC port on the side so I'm always reaching around the back.

    Nothing but blue screens

    Cant play anything without getting blue screens and having problems with nvidia not recognizing games and also the rgb on the power button will bug out and try to play rainbow colors the same time you have it set to one color. Will post updated review once i swap it out for another as i feel this one is a lemon.

    DO NOT BUY this computer. DO NOT BUY Alienware. Not even 2 months passed and the cable is loose and part the side popped off. They will not cover it saying it's wear and tear. Horrible product. DO NOT BUY
