Great powerhouse of a laptop at a reasonable price
||Posted . Owned for 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Built quality improved over the last years - Everything is still plastic though so I would rate 8/10 I/O - Moving the IO's to the back of the laptop was actually a great move. I felt a little sketchy before I had this but using it now it feels great. I feel I'm ONE USB too short, but ok. 8/10 Screen is great for its size, contrast is great! It's QHD+, 240hz so that's awesome if you don't have a second screen. 9/10 Keyboard feels really solid regarding size, placement and overall quality feel. Same for the trackpad. 7/10 Sound quality is really poor (at least with my unit) but not that I would be using that a lot, I mostly use Headsets anyway. 5/10 Now what REALLY matters: Processor - The new R9 7845HX is ABSURD! It trumps the i9's of latest 13th gen. Really good power house with good value to it. Thermals are good for something powerful like this - thanks to Alienware's cooling solution. 10/10 GPU - I got the 4080 version and I couldn't have made a better choice. This is WAAAY better than the 4070 by about 20% and dominates last gen 3080Ti for about 25%. It's 12GB GDDR6X is also a great improvement. It is AWESOME without being overpriced like the 4090. 10/10 RAM - Being one of the new line of laptops with DDR5 is awesome, I just feel like the default 16GB is on the low side....it should come with at least 32GBs (I already did the upgrade myself, but still...) - 8/10 SSD - Didn't perform any specific tests or anything because the nuances on a daily use are pretty much unnoticeable. M.2 SSD slot with 1TB of space, pretty standard. 9/10 Battery - You're a lunatic if you think this power house has a good battery....It's size is good but come on....no one will use this outside of the outlet.... 9/10 Overall - 8/10 If this came with a metal chassis and with 32GB ram from the factory it would be 10/10. Really glad I got this over the Intel version though.

Nice but could be better for the money
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. It is really fast, plays games as youd expect. Feels nice quality wise. Light weight for a gaming computer. However battery life is bad even just sitting idle youre lucky to get an hour unplugged. Its not very efficient at cooling. Will max out the CPUs 100 degree max playing simple games without even using overclocking featurss. But most of that is as to be expected for what it is

Alienware M16 review.
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. All in all I think this is a great computer. I’m getting the power and speed I paid for. The 4080 and ryzen 9 deliver great fps on all the games I play. Currently playing starfield and I average roughly 100fps in new Atlantis. On max to ultra settings. When I look up my 4K monitor I’m still averaging 60+ fps. So the hardware does it’s job. For the command center I am a big fan of it is very user friendly and easy to navigate. I don’t know what the alianware command center was like before this one but I heard people didn’t like it. But this one does everything I need it to. When it comes to build quality it phenomenal. It is definitely sturdy and a little on the heavy side but personally I don’t mind that I kind of view it as a plus because it doesn’t feel cheap and feel like it will break easily. The power cord is bigger and heavier then I would like and takes up a lot of space. I know they could have used a smaller one. So that knocks alittle points off. But not the end of the world. If you are going to lugging this thing around every day it may not be your favorite. Now my biggest complaint is the audio. While it’s working it’s great. It drowns out the fan noise no problem and the quality is good. But frequently the audio will cut out and have a little static so that’s alittle disappointing. For the price I paid I would expect that to work. That is the only thing keeping it from 5 stars in my opinion.

Great computer but beware buying used
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Bought used and ran into issues where the graphics card wasn't detected. Was able to get them sorted out with Dell thanks to their support but it took a good 2-3 weeks before I could start using it. Laptop is very powerful though, a little too powerful. The CPU was heavily unnecessary but consumes relatively low power. Just that the temps would've been better with a lesser processor since it never goes above 50% utilization. Lots of apps you have to manage with the dual GPU and different audio apps. I'd also opt for upgrading or purchasing the 32gb model. All in all, it can handle anything that can be thrown at it. Definitely worth the purchase but be careful and run your tests when buying used.

Great premium laptop but bad software
||Posted . Owned for 2 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The laptop is nice, premium feel, great build quality, perhaps the most premium design on the market but it weighs alot at 7.4 pounds. Dell ship it with the large power brick instead of slim like the x16 or the uk/eu variant and then charge 200 on their website for the slim version. The brick weights almost as much as the laptop! This laptop is a desktop replacement with a solid cpu 3 ( not 4 m.w slots ) on the ryzen model and ram is not soldered for easy upgrades. The downfall with this mschine the the alienware software snd with the ryzen model you cannot easily control overclock or uv because ryzen master and universal tuner does not support the dragon cpu architecture. The custom motherboard is a great design but it all falls far when it thermal throttles and dells command command center aka acc is buggy and useless. Get the intel version thet you csn control with universal tuner and intels toolkit. I returned this item sadly.

Great Desktop Replacement!
||Posted . Owned for 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Great laptop that can handle any game at high settings. Screen is great. A little loud. Would be great if it accepted usb c power but it’s high wattage so it’s acceptable. Overall would highly recommend as a desktop replacement.

Alienware m16 review
||Posted . Owned for 2 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. In summary, the Alienware m16 lives up to its promise in speed and build quality, delivering impressive FPS in games like TCM at max settings. The user-friendly command center meets my needs, and the sturdy build, while a bit heavy, adds to its durability. The larger power cord is a minor inconvenience, and though not ideal for daily lugging, it's manageable. Regrettably, the laptop falls short in battery, exhibiting a less-than-ideal battery life, This aspect becomes particularly pronounced for users who value portability and require extended usage periods without access to a power outlet. While the price justifies most aspects, the battery troubles prevent a perfect 5-star rating.

||Posted . Owned for less than 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Very powerful system, but there are something that turn users off! No usb 4 support Drivers were crazy buggy Price were very high compare to intel counter part However It run powerfully and cool but we need to offset the power down by 15 Celsius Very fast wifi connection *by default in 1st boot, it ran at 80 Celsius even idle. After offset, I can watch YouTube and it was only 60 Celsius Average battery life. About 3hr YouTube

Solid Machine, Good Performance
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Fast machine with good performance. Seems to be well built and sturdy. Its bulky. I think it should have come with more RAM at this price point. Easy enough to add RAM and another M.2 drive.

Worth the price on open-box
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Great performance, but bios needs more options. Dell locks memory speed to what comes stock. Overall, it's a good laptop with a great display. I'd still buy it if I had to make the choice all over again.

Awesome build, but ehhh on the little quirks
||Posted . Owned for 8 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I love the equipment in this computer but it just always has small issues. Like when I’m gaming it will open up a window on its own. It will sometimes if in sleep mode won’t unlock and I have to restart it. Battery life sucks but that’s a given considering it’s a power house of a machine. It can run anything but it can be a bit buggy for the price I would probably shoot for something else if it’s on sale maybe it’s worth it!

Good with hiccups
||Posted . Owned for 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Computer was purchased open box. I have enjoyed the performance so far ,but have had screen freezing and a couple of blue screen of death issues. Apparently, the drivers were faulty and BestBuy geek squad resolved the issue. I hope everything is now fixed. PHENOMENAL gaming performance, but definitely too bulky for most students to carry around daily.

Great Laptop with Some Minor Issues
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is a great laptop but has some minor bugs. When the device is working as it should, it is perfect! Great performance, speed, and a nice keyboard. However, I do experience the occasional crash, restart, and keyboard glitch. In addition, the charging cable comes out very easy and I tend to have audio issues occasionally.

Great for gaming.
||Posted . Owned for 2 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. So far everything is running at high FPS and cool (for AMD). Great screen and sound is decent. Only complaints is that Dell didn’t add thunderbolt ports to this model with a 4080.

||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. So far i really like the laptop. It plays any game i want without any lag for the most part. I will say the battery life is absolutely abysmal. Dont plan on gaming on battery power ever. Good
||Posted . Owned for 2 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Pretty good machine, runs all games and applications quite well. Video fan seems to make noise as there is debris in it, will be replacing it. Other than that it runs great and graphics are awesome.

It's acceptable, mostly good experience.
||Posted . Owned for less than 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Pros: It's a good gaming laptop. According to the benchmarks I did, it's apparently better than my gaming desktop (Ryzen 9 3950X, RTX 3080). High screen refresh rate, and I like the Alienware build, and the weight feels good. Cons: The screen brightness nits could be a little higher. There's no other colors in this model, you would have to get the X version which has the annoying soldered on RAM. Battery life is around 2.5 hrs (balance mode, non-gaming), and sometimes the Alienware Command Center program does not respond. I took 1 star off for the non-responsive Alienware Command center.

Great laptop overall!
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is a beast of a machine! Blazing fast processing speed and GPU (4080 does wonders) and the overall built of this laptop is excellent. Just two minor issues for me - it generates a lot of CPU heat (though solved by it's cooling system), and the laptop weight is above average heavy. Other than those, this is an excellent gaming laptop.
