    Super fast ! I can’t setting energy save battery not enough like the back lights on the cover I can’t find plastic covers to protect the laptop

    Looks really cool, but did not function as expected. I bought open box and the wifi chip was defective. Even during the setup process it would constantly disconnect and reconnect to the wifi. I updated all the drivers, tried a few manual fixes and after 8 hours I gave up, returned it and bought an Aurora 15 desktop. I had driven over 2 hours 1 way to pick this up. In total I had over 12 hours of time invested into this laptop and at the end of the day it did not function properly. On top of that 2 best buy wifi networks were saved inside the pc, therefore it was not properly reset during the refurbishing process before best buy sold it, which is a major security risk for anyone working with sensitive projects.

    Keyboard died after one day, do not recommend Alienware Laptops. Worked great until keyboard completely stopped working, tried resetting the laptop and updating BIOS and drivers and still wouldn't work. Returned it after three days.

    X15 overheats has bad air flow control and you can’t game too long with it. Eventually it will burn itself out and become unusable not worth the price I pads for and I’m going to return it and go for an exchange.

      Here are the steps to troubleshoot your heating issue:
      1. Update the system BIOS.
      2. Configure Alienware Command Center.
      • Open Alienware Command Center
      • Set the Active System Theme - Thermal as Performance Mode
      3. When the system boots up, using the preinstalled software Dell SupportAssist run the stress test.
      • Dell SupportAssist > Hardware Checkup > CPU > CPU stress test
      4. Launch the Alienware Command Center, go to Fusion, and monitor the CPU frequency.
      • The CPU peak temperature should be less than or equal to (≤) 100 ℃
      • When under high stress, the system average temperature can be expected to be less than (≤) 100 ℃

    Had ordered an Open Box Excellent but received something with multiple dents, screws dangling out, windows not fully restored and bestbuy did not disclose that the laptop had parts changed twice. The videofan wasnt working. During the return, it felt like a depressing experience.

    I’ve had a terrible experience with this laptop. After two weeks, the keyboard failed. Four days spent with Dell customer support, their solution was a complete clean install of the system. When that didn’t work, it took another week before a technician came out, and was still unable to solve the problem. I now have at least another three day wait for a part to come in, and a technician to be scheduled. I’ve lost almost two weeks worth of work with this laptop. I’ll never be purchasing a Dell or Alienware again.

    Alienware x15 R2 OS corruption

    The worst pc experience of my life. I don’t know if it’s my luck or Alienware is truly that bad. I have had this laptop for less than a month. The OS has corrupted twice due to updates. I’ve spent hours installing my software and things that I have used, to only get a blue screen of OS failure due to the computer just updating. Best Buy has fixed it once already and then another update happened the next day I got it back and it corrupted ! It’s a shame because the computer is lightning fast…

      3. Under the Source column, look for Windows and under Summary, look for Shut down unexpectedly.
      4. Right-click the line item and select Check for a solution.

    Purchased this laptop and received it on 12/23. Worked great for about a week, then I go to turn the laptop on today, and the keyboard stopped worked altogether. No lights or keys responding. Definitely not what I am expecting from a laptop of this price. Returning it ASAP.

      1. On the BIOS (System Setup) screen, click Post Behavior.
      2. Click Fn Lock Options.
      3. Read the information as to what the options are, and make the wanted selection.
      4. Click Exit.
      5. Confirm saving the changes.
      Your computer restarts now.
      1. On the BIOS screen, press the Right Arrow key until the Advanced menu is highlighted.
      2. Press the Down Arrow key until Function Key Behavior.
      3. Using the Up or Down arrows, select the wanted Function Key Behavior default, and press the Enter key.
      4. Press the Right Arrow key until the Exit menu is highlighted.
      5. Press the Down Arrow key until Exit Saving Changes or Save Changes (or similar wording) is highlighted, and then press the Enter key.
      6. Press the Enter key on Yes to Save Configuration (or similar wording).

    This laptop is sleek lookingvand performs all the duties I throw at it very well. Although I would of liked more usb ports, a USB hub easily solved that problem. Display is amazing.

    As stated in the title, this laptop thermal throttles and runs hot, but I still score between 17,000 and 17,750 on Cinebench R23. Good laptop, and if they can ever control the heat in this chassis, this laptop will be killer. My battery life is great too. I get around 6 hours of life. Sometimes I will get 7+, but that's not normal.
