love this head unit, excellent for ease of xm radio use. visually stunning

Radio is a little laggy. The sound is amazing and the expansions you can do I have never seen in any other radio. I installed this in a gmc savana van. Sounds like a concert hall without the use of amplifiers or subs.

This unit is unusable with Carplay or Android Auto. Maps, be it WAZE, APPLE MAPS, or GOOGLE MAPS, all display washed out during DAY MODE. You can barely see the streets you are driving on, unless the streets are displayed with darker lines (see image), which is clear an issue with the color contrast on the unit that cannot be manually adjusted. Forget about calling Alpine's technical support, as I did multiple times, but my experience was horrible. They basically said "That is what you get". I wanted to swap my 8.4 UAQ UCONNECT on my 2016 RAM1500 so that I could have Carplay, but the tradeoff is way too much. Having said that, the unit clearly has tons of potential, but because you rely entirely on maps through CARPLAY, this unit is unusable. As such, I don't recommend anyone buying it.

This was an upgrade for my car. The Alpine - 9" - Android Auto/Apple CarPlay™ - Built-In Bluetooth - In-Dash Digital Media Receiver does everything I needed and more. It is a bigger screen so make sure that it will fit without blocking out anything on you dash.

The resolution is much improved over the Kenwood unit that was installed wrong by another installer. Mike (the Best Buy installer) was a great help in fixing the problems I was having. Great product but better installation.

First of all the screen is huge there is no going back after You start using it. Overall setup and installation is just like You would expect in this type of radio

At first I wasn’t happy with the radio because I didn’t install all the things that I could with the radio (maestro, hdmi etc). After I went back to Best Buy they installed all those stuff and I stAred to enjoy the radio more. The only thing I don’t like about it is the screen resolution.

I purchased the Alpine ILX F309 for its large viewing screen. Very pleased.

Just like other reviews CarPlay Map apps are way too washed out and there doesn’t seem to be any setting to adjust it. Premium features but not a premium screen resolution, viewing angle, color etc. Considering returning it.

In love with my stereo makes my speakers louder than before.

Great radio. Only reason I’m giving it 4 out of 5 stars is my eyes are very sensitive and at night the auto dimmer isn’t dim enough. But if you turn the dimmer on, it’s perfect at night.

I really do like alpine products, just wish CarPlay was a little more friendly with the radio

The interface is really friendly to use. The colors change a lot though, almost too much and sometimes it gets distracting when I’m driving, but I love this receiver
