Keep it on the table you're sitting at and anyone within 20ft can hear it. Didn't drop it in the sand or water to test it out but if you do, let me know how that works.

The only downside is the way the outer rubber jacket is attached, within a week one of the little plugs fell out and cannot be reattached.

Great speaker for the money

It is definitely weather and shock resistant, we have used it on the beach multiple times, it is easy to travel with and works well. The only downfalls I see are that it is a little bit hard to use in the beginning, and it's not as loud as I had hoped.
