Just opened up our new swimming pool and wanted a poolside speaker that could get wet and still work. The sales person showed several different models and I purchased the Altec Lansing Mini Life Jacket speakers. The display was set up so I could listen to both models. We really enjoy the speaker and haven't gotten it wet yet :)

This speaker is awesome! The sound couldn't be better. I am so glad that I bought this speaker. Just the right size and it looks great. I can't say enough about it, if your looking for a small speaker, this is it, you will not be sorry that you bought it.

My ALLJ is awesome! On the boat, at the beach or golf course, or in the pool. Even when caught in Florida rainstorms. It is rugged and durable. We've played catch with it in the pool. No issues. The sound quality rivals my friends Bose. I only wish it was a little louder.

I bought this for my brother-in-law who works with heavy equipment with CalFire often way out in the forests. He uses this in a dusty loud place everyday and loves it. The sound is great, it's easy to attach and even he could sync it with his phone (he's not super tech savvy). Great sound and great durability.

This was purchased for onsite music at a construction site. So far the durability is great. It seems to be fairly dust resistant and can definitely take being thrown around a bit. Sound quality is quite good. Overall really pleased with this little speaker.

I have not had the opportunity to test the waterproof capabilities. However, the battery life is adequate.(The larger speaker has a much better battery life...at twice the price.) The price was fair, battery life is adequate, sound is above average.

I used it from a few different devices on the lake and it was amazing. Sound quality was excellent. I had the speaker on our dock, where it got knocked into the lake and sill worked flawlessly. Great multipurpose speaker.

I purchased this to replace my bulky computer speakers and it is amazing for my smaller desk. It has an auto off feature so the battery does not die and I just love it. I can take it anywhere in the house.

The sound from this little device is amazing. Good battery life too. One minor annoyance is when it is turned on/off, it speaks about it's status in a very loud voice.

We listened to these speakers at our local BB store multiple times before purchasing as a Christmas gift for our daughter, we loved the sound that they produced, as well as the fact that she would be able to throw it in the pool in the summer when she has friends over. She opened it XMas Morning, we charged for 4+ hours, and it will not turn on. We now must spend more time, and gas money to drive back to the BB store (40 min away) to exchange it. We tried calling Altec customer service, FORGET about that. The man that answered was foreign speaking, (huge language and understanding barrier) and there was nothing he could do to troubleshoot why this brand new $100 speaker wasn't working. He suggested shipping it back to the manufacturer, and waiting for them to ship back a new one. ? We've already got a Christmas gift our daughter can't use or play with, we aren't going to wait weeks to resolve the issue, we'll take it back to where we purchased it and HOPEFULLY get one that works. The inconvenience of driving back down and spending more money on gas to get there, and the poor customer service from Altec, leads me to this 2 star review.

Easy to set up and use. Really nice sound. Makes gardening more of a pleasure, because now I don't have to wear earplugs (which annoy me) in order to enjoy my music while I work!nVery durable also !

I bought one almost a year ago and everybody loves how loud and clear it is. I've thrown it in swimming pools and used the blue tooth and it sounds great. Bought a second one so I can give it to my friend. I highly recommend it and the price ain't bad.

This little speaker does not disappoint in sound quality. i purchased it for my son who is in college. I was particularly interested in the waterproof qualities of the unit as he and his friends like to go boating. So far, so good!

I bought this to take on a trip to Mexico. Thought it would be nice to have some music with us poolside, beach-side, and in the room. This little speaker worked very nice. Setup was quick and easy. Holds a charge for a long time - never even ran it down. Sound is good for a speaker this size. The fact that is waterproof, shockproof, etc is an added bonus.

Bought this for my dad to use in his garage. I told him if it gets dusty, he can swish it around in his sink. Of course, I don't think that would *actually* be a good idea, but hey, it says it's waterproof! And it sounds great!

It is a powerful little speaker that has good sounds quality, is water proof, shock proof, and dust proof. What more can you ask for?!?

I was looking for a Bluetooth speaker for my living room and couldn't afford to pay a lot. This speaker puts out a good sound for the price and I believe it is also waterproof although I have not tested this feature out yet.

Great sound, rugged build, rechargeable battery lasts for very long time in a compact size and very reasonable price!

After listening to Bose and other high end speakers, I felt this measured up with or near them for quite a bit less. The "ruggedized" case is nice as I use it in the garage, etc.

I take it with me on vacation and work. I like the ruggedness of it one less thing I have to worry about when I pack or leave it out on the beach or any other place that I use it and sounds very good for the size
