Decent alternative to AirPods

I bought these as a backup/alternative to my AirPods. They work as advertised. They stay in my ears. Unfortunately the first case broke. I am hoping that it was a faulty case instead of a design flaw.

The headphones themselves are made well, but they're oddly shaped and unfortunately didn't fit my ears. Didn't get a chance to test the audio on these.

These Evo’s are great. The clarity and noise canceling is amazing. I love the fact the case doubles as a charger. Really needs more play hours thats the only hang up I have.

I just purchased these headphones; and, I will be returning them tomorrow. All is not bad with this product; however, a couple of key features that I prefer to not live without are what has these going back to Best Buy.
SOUND QUALITY
I actually enjoyed the overall sound quality. It provided a nice amount of bass; and, the ambient noises were to a minimum. I am doing some editing with these in my ear while my fiance is watching television. I could not hear the television; and, I only hear the fan because it is quite loud and close.
FIT
The fit of the buds makes me feel secure. While I clearly have not exercised in them, they feel secure enough that I could go running or cycling on the trails without any major concerns. I did that dance that 3 & 4 (the dancing twin girls' ACTUAL names from Charlie Brown's Christmas during the "Linus & Lucy" dance; they're in purple dresses) did; and, the stayed secured in my ears. However, now having them in for a couple of hours, they are beginning to become uncomfortable; and, I am not a fan of not being able to have headphones in for at least 3-4 hours. I am only at the end of hour two.
THINGS THAT ARE CONTRIBUTING TO THE RETURN
1. The pain in my ears currently.
2. The left bud keeps disconnecting from the right bud. I don't care about this interference stuff I've read. The fact is that both headphones are in my ears, and my cell phone is directly beside me. There should be no disconnection.
3. (MOST IMPORTANT IN MY BOOK) I was NOT aware that there were no volume or track functions on this device. I did not think I would have to research that in 2018. Just as cars come with power steering, these devices should have the functionality to change songs and adjust the volume to one's liking. If I cannot do that, then it defeats the whole principle of why we became wireless in the first place. If I wanted to change the music and adjust the volume by utilizing my phone, I would have purchased corded earphones. That MAJORLY detracts from this product. I will likely go back to my Bluetooth wired headphones made by a competitor.
There's room for growth. If #3 was to be fixed, I would reconsider these for a future purchase.

Look, I'm sure in the future wire free headphones will be the new norm and company will be able to afford the tech to produce them. Unfortunately, it's not that time yet and these headphones are not up to par with the elite wire free headphones brands (i.e. apple, jbl).
The sound was pretty bad. No bass, treble and the overall loudness was very low. I was still able to have a conversation with them full blast.
In review, save your money for some elite wire free headphones.

I bought these at bestbuy, where I think these are exclusively available. I'm posting this review because it was very hard to find reviews of these buds, and I'm looking to help out anyone whose interested in trying these out. First of all, they do sound very good. I think they have great bass response, if you're into that. I normally have the bass on my phone's equalizer set to high, but with these I had to turn it down all the way. Sometimes, there's still too much bass, so if you don't like bass (muddy perhaps, though i'm not an audiophile), then you won't like these buds at all.
Fit is pretty good too. The buds include lots of fit options, including foam and silicone covers, and I ran with them for three miles and they didn't budge.
With that said, the reason why I'm giving them three stars is: [1] battery life; [2] bad connection; and [3] the charging case. Battery life is poor. Websites reported four hours, but the box only said three. I just got a 20% battery warning after using them for an hour and five minutes. I'm assuming they were completely charged, because they were in the case and the case was charged, but there's no way of knowing how much battery life is left because neither the buds nor the case have a battery level indicator. I'm shocked that they omitted this. Anyway, such short battery life is borderline useless to me, and that's the main reason why i'm returning them.
As for the connection, walking through city streets my the buds lost a connection to each other and my phone often when i turned my head. It also didn't matter which side of my body my phone was on. So that was annoying.
The charging case is HUGE! its like three times the size of the samsung gear iconx 2018 case, and four times the size of the apple airpods. There's no way the case would comfortably fit in my pants pocket, so that sucks too.
Some last points, you can use the left earbud while the right one is in the charging case, but you can't use the right one with the left bud in the case. Finally, I knew that the buds only had four controls on them, power on, play/pause, and voice assistant, but not having a way to change volume or play the next song seems kinda silly. I could live without these controls, but why??? (You're supposed to be able to reject a call too, but I couldn't get that to work).
