There's 3 modes on this dishwasher, heavy, normal, and 1 hour. These 3 modes translate to 3-hour, 2-hour, or 1-hour and though it gets the job done, it's super basic and it doesn't fully translate to a better wash. It's a cheap budget-friendly dishwasher, It might be nice to get something a little more capable if you're someone who cooks and generates a lot of dishes. but for someone who just needs some plates washed to remove the crumbs and some grease, this does the job and does it pretty well. Just don't open the door before the cycle ends because it fails to recover and you usually end up cancelling the job

Cleans Well. Leaves a lot water behind.

This dishwasher is one of the cheaper models but we were looking for a basic dishwasher without all the whistles and bells. It looks good, cleans well, and it's fairly quiet. If you use the "normal" setting it takes a long time to do the job. The "1 hour" setting is faster but not as energy efficient. In either case, when the cycle is done the dishes are clean and dry but there's a lot water left in the dishwasher. It's all over the sides, the bottom, and even the utensil tray is dripping. I called the help line and was told that it was normal for it to do that. They said that in order to make the units more energy efficient that the water doesn't get as hot. We always use the rinse aid but there's still a lot of water left inside. The help line person did say that the dishwashers with the stainless steel interiors don't have that problem. I would not recommend this product.

The Price is Right easy to install easy to operate but there is a major problem. The heating system don't works and with that say the dishwasher is going to builded up mold on the inside. I'm very much disappointed a waste of time and energy

As a single person, I knew I did not require a super fancy dishwasher with a bunch of useless features, but more of something solid and could be trusted not to leak. This machine was the cheapest one I looked at, and I was unfamiliar with the brand, but the features are pretty comparable to the next 2 more expensive machines. So I took a chance. I am definitely satisfied with how the machine cleans the dishes. Everything comes out real nice. However, the heat dry cycle could be WAY better. That is my one complaint. Even with the use of Jet Dry type liquid the drying cycle does not seem to make much of a difference. Everything is still pretty wet when the whole cycle is completed. Overall it is a decent dishwasher. Very basic design, but It does the job, plus it has a large sized cutlery basket so that’s a plus.

Dishwasher seems to clean good. Runs pretty quietly. Does not interfere with watching tv or other activities. Only complaint is that even though I use the heated drying cycle, there is still a lot of condensation on walls and door inside machine after completion of cycle.

Have only had it a month, so far so good; on par with other dishwashers in this price range. The only issue is it is a little deeper than previous dishwashers I have owned; 3 previous dishwashers fit into the cabinet space but depth of this model is about an inch deeper; it still would have fit except I have a drain pipe next to the wall, the unit sticks out about half inch too far to screw it to the counter top; I had to improvise.

This dishwasher is alright. Not amazing, but not the worst. The door tends to close itself when trying to load it, making it difficult and annoying to load. Even when using the drying liquid to assist with drying this washer has a hard time actually drying the dishes. There’s always drops of water all over the place and I have to keep the door open when finished so everything can dry completely. Overall this is an OK dishwasher. You get what you pay for. If you have a little more available for your budget I recommend going with something better though.

This is an economy grade dishwasher by Amana. It comes with all plastic tub which does not aid in proper drying (steel tub dries better). Top tray always comes out soaking wet. Lower tray dries almost always. Even after a full cycle there is almost always water left on the side walls and within the unit. There is no insulation blanket or any kind of sound deadening on this unit. Unit is real loud. Very basic controls. If you are on a budget and do not care about the noise then this is for you. Unit works okay. Pretty light to carry and can be easily moved around if need be. It comes with mounting anchors, starter soap kit, drain pipe and such. You will need to buy the install kit which should contain water supply pipe, fitting and electrical cord.

This is a good product for the price. It looks nice. I think it has a good amount of space inside. I wish it was a little quieter but not bad. Does not dry dishes well though.

I like the over all look and it runs quietly but it doesn’t dry the dishes very well. It has to stay open after it runs so it doesn’t stink.

Overall ok, but was surprised that it did not have a rinse cycle. I chose to run normal cycle without soap for a few minutes then cancel drain. Still kind of a pain and have never seen a dishwasher without a rinse cycle but I guess this is a way to get around it. I paid $279 so I guess you get what you pay for. It doesn't dry very well either.

I had an a mama refrigerator that lasted me 20 years so I was good buying this brand again. I wish I had read reviews online first. It does not dry well at all. It cleans pretty good and is sufficient for the time being. ( way better than hand washing) but I’ll be replacing down the road. It was fine for the price when I needed one quickly.

The best part of this dishwasher is it looks nice. It is serviceable as a dish cleaning system but severely lacking in the drying department. I have to either leave the door open for a day to dry everything out or pull them out and towel dry. A lot of dishwashers leave a little water behind, but this one excels at it.

    • Brand response from AmanaTeam
      Posted .

Current dishwasher heating cycles have been cut short due to standards set by the Department of Energy. To overcome this, we recommend using rinse aid to help sheet off extra water. First, fill the compartment with rinse aid until full. Next, turn the dial under the rinse aid cap from 2 (the factory preset) to 5 or 6. This will allow the rinse aid to cover the dishes and form to the inside cabinet. Turn it back down after a few loads, and you will notice a big difference the amount of water in the unit and on the dishes. AmanaBrand

Was excited to find a dishwasher in stainless steel around $400. Matches the other Amana appliances bought as a set for a rental property. Needed inexpensive set for a house being sold.
