Brand new Freezer, got it two weeks ago and already is building up ice

Looks great, very clean lines. So quiet, we cannot hear it running except for the ice maker. Has upgraded the look of our kitchen Good lighting Has more room than the 25.5 cubic feet refrigerator that it replaced with efficient shelving. The Best Buy delivery guys are the best.

We had limited space to put a new refrigerator. Our "wish list" for a new refrigerator was that it have space for gallon of milk in the door and had water, cubed and crushed ice in the door. We had looked at several units from various stores. The Amana 24.5 was ideal for us. It fit in the place our VERY old Admiral was. (The refrigerator was obsolete and was our home when we purchased it 4 years ago.) We LOVE this refrigerator. It runs very quite. I have never run out of ice. The service/delivery was on time and the delivery people were professional, helpful and very polite. I would recommend this to anyone with limited space. It really is not a small unit. It holds a lot more than our old unit without taking up more room in our kitchen. Thank you Best Buy. It really was a good deal and we are very happy with this purchase.

I want to love this. It looks great and the price was good. It has pretty decent storage (see below) and it is really quiet. However, there are a few things which make this less than ideal: 1. The water dispenser drips after use and there is no tray to catch the water. That means that water is constantly running down the front of the freezer side. 2. The way the water and ice dispensers are placed means that when you get ice, you occasionally hit the water dispenser depending on the size of what you're using. 3. The top of the fridge freezes items even though everything is set at the ideal temp. 4. This is my fault for not checking, but there is no drawer for cheeses or deli meats. I didn't realize how much I used it in my old fridge, but there isn't one here.

Only had it for a month now and so far so good. Refrigerator and freezer doing a great job even in the hot summer days we have been having. My previous refrigerator made a lot of noise when making ice but not this one. You hardly know it is on, that's how quiet it is. Very spacious in the inside too and really please with how roomy the bottom part of the freezer is. Great for storing frozen vegetables, or fruit or for quickly cooling tall bottles of beverages for hot summer days. Overall I am very pleased with my purchase.

The freezer doesn’t get very cold. I like the bright lights inside both freezer and fridge. Looks nice too. Plus there is plenty of space inside both fridge and freezer

We were in a rush to buy a refrigerator/freezer, but I researched as much as I could and settled on this one. The ice maker is slow-working and never full. I also had to replace one of the plastic door bins this month (January) that cracked after 10 months of use. Just a note, the featured pictures might show 2 gallons of milk in the bin, but in reality, too much weight in the bins will cause the plastic to crack. It's small, but there is plenty of room to store anything you need for as many as 3 people. Overall, I would give it a good but not excellent rating.

We looked at several frigs, and the main reason we got this one is that the other stock appliances in our new build were also Amana. We've had it for over two years now with little issues. It was noisy st first, but after a little balancing, that solved the running noise. The ice maker is still really loud when it dumps ice. The biggest negative is how the lever to dispense water is right in front of the ice dispenser and difficult to differentiate, so if you're using a larger cup to get ice, you often accidentally get water. Annoying more than anything, but the frig itself was a great value. So far, no real issues at all (knock on wood).

Replacing an Amana that I had for 30 plus years. This one does not have all the bells and whistles of my previous one (I really miss the sealed Cold Milk Storage and Meat Drawer). I do not care for the way the un reinforced tempered glass shelves are set up, there just isn't enough adjustment room, but for the money it is great value. Cools a whole lot better than my 34cf LG that cost 4X more.

Not the best but not the worst. Came in a little banged on the side and the freezer racks look like it moved on the side. Best Buy did credit me back with gift card so it helped. Overall it was replacing a 15 year fridge. Fridge overall is good and sturdy freezer can get really cold. Like other comments below the firdge handles do not seem to line up exactly but if you remove them and re attach them you can get them to equal levels. Love the built in water and ice, got it for that reason as the top and bottom fridges don't have this feature. It keeps things cold it does what it was made to do nothing fancy no bells and whistles. For the price it is good

The refrigerator works great and has plenty of space. Unfortunately it was damaged and the doors do not align correctly because of this. I am waiting for the replacement which is it on order. So far Best Buy is doing the right thing. I will complete this with you when I receive the refrigerator and it is installed. The only other minor issue I have with this product is when you use the water dispenser on the door. If you pull the glass away too quickly the water continues to drip down the front of the refrigerator

Nice frig. for the price compared to others. Roomy. Negatives are water from door is chilled by a basic coiled plastic tube located in the back wall of the refrig. section. Even customer service had to go to the parts diagram to figure out what it was since nothing is mentioned in the literature. We have had sporadic problems with the water dispenser in the door not working. My guess...plastic coil frozen somewhere along the line as we can hear the motor when button is pushed. The shipping packaging is very good and our was picked up from store by us and brought home and assembled. Easy!

This refrigerator is really a great deal! For the price especially it has everything we wanted including the water/ice dispenser in the door. That was a must and most other brands were double the price. The space inside is also excellent. The only reason for 4 instead of 5 stars is that when you are using a larger cup sometimes you hit the water button when you're just trying to get ice and then water comes out and gets on the floor. Once you adjust to that and hold the cup a certain way, it works fine. We did have some challenges with the delivery process not being logged properly but it was remedied.

Purchased this in white on March 14 2020. The geek squad did the installation but failed to mention that there were signs of a rework on the back panel. I found out later. I thought it was noisy but they said it was normal. Two days after installation I wanted to return it. By then then the pandemic response threw everything out of sync. I would have had to return it myself (I'm 85 year sold and accustomed to be taken advantage of) Subsequently called the MFG and found out that it was a last years model which ordinarily wouldn't have mattered. They sent a man from Appliance Repair to look at it and it was pronounced "normal" . Hums, groans throbs and ringing is not normal. I gave up and bought acoustic foam and Mass loaded vinyl to cut the noise. It is somewhat reduced but still annoying. Like living in a machine shop.

Hello if you are looking into purchasing a new fridge with out paying alot of money but still have some of the newer updates then this Amana might be the one for you. For the price we pd I'm very satisfied. This fridge offers a roomy fridge and the other side for the freezer has atleast 4 shelves down and a pull out draw. The front has two ways of getting ice crushed or whole and a water dispenser thats separate(my old fridge made us choose one or the other) also there's a built in light. Im giving this a 5 star and i waited to do this review untill after we had it for a month or so (2 now) no problems so far and within a few hours ice was dropping real easy to clean and as i stated earlier roomy and the inside dnt have that dull light that you really cant see when you open it. It really lights up the whole fridge when you open it. I think we purchased on a Tuesday night and it was ready for pick up on Saturday morning. Pd price well worth it.

This is a nicely sized value-priced refrigerator. Works well in our rental property which has a small kitchen so we couldn't buy a massive unit that sticks out into the floor space. As far as the surface, this thing shows A LOT of fingerprints. Most of my stainless steel I just use regular household cleaner (windex) to clean fingerprints off the surface, but this unit requires actual stainless steel cleaner to get it clean on the outside.

I love this Amana side by side refrigerator!!!!! It's quiet, efficient, and beautiful, not to mention it holds a lot of food. I had an Amana 18cf refrigerator from the 80's, but this newer model is perfect for me!!!!

Decent fridge while it lasted - which was only 13 months. The factory crimped connection where the copper lines meets the steel line on the backside of fridge leaked out all the coolant at the 13 month mark. Had best buy extended warranty which isn't worth the paper its printed on - best buy repair scheduled and repair guys no show/no call. Called best buy total of 5x and they promised they "escalated it" each time and that id hear back in hours with a confirmed repair date/time. 2 weeks later and still nothing. Finally had to call an independant repair tech who cut out the bad crimp and brazed in new section of line and refilled the r600a for a total of $575 repair cost an an $1100 13 month old refridgerator. Steer clear of amana and run far far away from the scam that is best buy extended warranty.

The Amana 24.5 cu ft side by side door refrigerator is a nice unit for under $1000, quite an upgrade to my previous refrigerator, whose seals were gone and the light didn't work. Nice stainless steel front, but oddly is magnetic so I can post my favorite frig magnets. Nice to have ice and water in the door The shelves are rudimentary, no drawer for lunch meat, but 2 large veggy drawers. The in-door storage on the freezer side are small and the open bottoms limit the size and shape of what can be stored them. The freezer shelves have no stop at the back, so easy for items to fall off the top shelf to someware in the bowels of the back. Lots of in-door storage on the refrigerator side. I had a challenge getting the right nipple to join my 3/8" water line to the 1/4" water input. The threads do not match pipe fittings but are really lawn water hoses thread type fittings (not NPT or compression but LF).
