I've never encountered this before and I am surprised they make it this way. Also, when the oven is on it has a really awful smell almost like burning plastic. WE had to look all over the inside to double check and make sure that there wasn't plastic stuck inside - guess what? There isn't... I may send back and buy better. On the nice side, it does heat up fast. Pretty much a basic stove

Specially, when the bottom drawer is pulled out, you can see how easily it bends from side to side. I replaced a 20 year old GE Spectra with this and I was amazed how things has done down in USA. Also the cooktop glass seems much thinner than the GE one (based on the sound it make when you tap on it)

Great Range

Takes a little more time to heat through my thicker wok, but works well. My only complaint is the streaking, ironically a traditional stove is easier to keep clean looking ! But wiping it down is a small price to pay for a very nice range.
