Our old stove was 8 yrs old and hated it from the start. So really researched this purchase. Almost got caught in the flash of 5 burners and fans in the oven--really to costly for my taste. This range is all we needed, easy to operate, sealed burners, cooks even. Our old stove heated the kitchen up real bad and took forever to heat the oven up- been looking for a reason to chunk it- well when the oven glow stick is on and the oven don't light- gas through the house- GOODBYE TAPPAN!! This oven heats quickly and does not keep the a/c running due to excessive heat loss. Very Happy! Range top has good heavy grates! If I was more articulate I could just gush on and on! Our old Tappan, bought in a pinch, was so bad I just can't get over this Amana! First oven with a top broiler burner so there is a learning curve on cheese toast making ( I set the smoke detector off! LOL) But that's on me!
