I tried to purchase this using a Best Buy gift card, but the staff said they were unable to complete my purchase because Best Buy is stopped allowing these kind of purchases to be made with gift cards a couple years ago. I then completed the purchase using my Best Buy credit card. Why not? If customers want to use a Best Buy gift card to purchase gift cards for other businesses, why shouldn’t they be allowed to do so? I can see not being allowed to purchase Best Buy gift cards with reward certificates because that’s changing something with an expiration date to something that’s indefinite for products purchased at Best Buy. I’ve read the reason they ceased allowing such purchases to be made with gift cards is to prevent fraud, but that’s not really preventing fraud if you think about it. If I’m being swindled into buying gift cards or gaming digital currency for someone attempting to defraud me, what difference does it make if I buy them with Best Buy gift cards or with my own money? Either way, I’m still being swindled. If I’m using Best Buy gift cards I swindled out of someone else, then I could just as easily use them to buy tangible products. Therefore, it’s not actually preventing fraud. The fraud would’ve already occurred. You’d have to discontinue gift card purchases altogether in order to prevent this type of fraud. Best Buy, please go back to allowing your customers to purchase gaming digital currency and gift cards for other businesses in your store and online with our Best Buy gift cards. There is really no legitimate reason not to. I have this product 5 stars because it’s not Amazon’s fault Best Buy is like this. Their product worked exactly as advertised.
