Worked, but why cant I purchase gift cards with paypal anymore. What is the difference between paying with a debit card or paying with my debit on paypal... always making things harder .

Bad Gamble. If it doesn't activate, you lose. Neither Amazon or Best Buy stand behind a failed gift card.
