I'm comparing this to the 1st gen Kindle, and it's so slim! I'm in love with it. I mainly upgraded to this because I needed a backlight to read at night, and because of this I tend to use it more often. I received $30 off with Best Buy Student Deals. So, if you're a student, definitely look into the discount if they still have it available.

My 6th Kindle, had one since their origin. This model is better than the previous with inner light (can read with the light off) and longer lasting battery life despite the apparent greater use of power

I bought this item specifically to read books outside. It does that well. It was my second Kindle as I also own a Kindle Fire. I would recommend this for anyone that wants a small item to carry in your purse so you can read when you are on a plane, at the pool or just relaxing at home.

I have several tablets and this is my second white paper. Since I had a first generation I wanted to upgrade to something faster. I love it. The white paper is so much easier on the eyes for reading. After working on a computer all day I don't mind using this tablet. No glare

I bought this to replace an older model that we had, one that wasn't backlit. I can't recall the model info. Anyway, this new one is great. It's easy to navigate and the screen is easy to read. Touch screen isn't as responsive as a cell phone screen but hey, it's not a cell phone. Overall a great deal and I use it daily.

Product is light weight. Battery lasts a long time.

I've always had the base level Kindle, but once I saw that the latest version had a backlight, I had to replace my older model. For the money, it's such a good value, and now that I don't have to clip bright LED lights that distract anyone else when I read at night, it's even more convenient than before. Highly recommend.

Purchased a Kindle because I am tired of lugging books around for travel! This is not my first Kindle and the Kindle design has certainly seen some great improvements over the past few years. I love the size, love the updated interface and the new screen lighting is a game changer! This is a great product for a great price.

If you are a Kindle user already, the Paperwhite is a lightweight reader that is easy to carry. Like all Kindles it allows you to carry multiple books with you without the bulk. One of the best features is the onboard dictionary that allows you to always know the meaning of every word. Another Kindle plus is the ability to highlight a name and instantly trace the history of that character.

I was able to choose which books wee allowed on my daughters device and which times she could operate the device. This came in handy when trying to fight her device addiction by preventing her from sneaking in screen time after bed time. the e-ink screen lasts for days before needing a charge.

I like it but hate the false advertisement. They say it’s a 4GB but it is really about 2.5GB and when you ask, they say it is because the software installed is about 1.5GB. What a bunch of BS. I think it is a rip off.

I love it. I bought this in particular to use in daylight. My old kindle I had trouble seeing through the glare. I have no problems reading sitting outside in the bright sun. It is also much easier on the eyes at night if I turn my room light out and read in the dark.

I bought one for each of my two kids because they love to read and this makes it easy to transport many books in a small device. They really like their new Kindle. It works great and the battery lets them read for a long time. We've owned many e-readers and this one gets two thumbs up. Highly recommend.

Best purchase for an avid reader. Biggest perk is the size, makes it so much easier to travel with multiple books on hand because I always switch between books depending on my mood!

This kindle purchase was an upgrade for my kiddos. They were on sale & I surprised them with these little reading gems. They were so excited & grateful. The battery life is amazing. The front light allows them to read at night & they love that they can pair this device with Bluetooth.

First time Kindle user, and I love this. You can read in the dark, in the sunlight. It's light and easy to hold. It's easy to find the settings so you can change the font or brightness. Very happy with my purchase.

Well I was missing not having my Kindle, when my old one died. So I'm back to my routne reading now. It's been part of my regular reference when I'm reading my Bible. It's super convenient for my study. So I guess I'll always have a Kindle around me.

Basic Kindle, but does everything I want it to, which was important. I didn't want to spend a lot of money, so if you're looking for your first Kindle and your budget is right, go with this Kindle.
