I wasn't sure how amazon echo will work and got it initially to control my Philip Hue lights. I was amazed by list of smart devices it can support. It also connects to the apps like pandora iheartradio and likes. I am in love with Alexa. The speaker is powerful and the sound is crisp. I didn't know that amazon dot could perform exact same tasks and it's almost 1/3 the price. Though I don't regret buying echo but I could have bought dot which is $50 a piece compare to $179.99 for echo. Could have got 3 dots for different locations

Sleek in design, talking to Alexa is as fun as talking to Siri. You have the option to upload the apps you choose. Having to buy the extra utilities, such as the special outlet to operate the lights, is the only downside.

Nice to have music, alarms, shopping list, lights, all available at the sound of your voice, works great! Hub for home, Highly recommended!

We bought this to supplement our Dot that we already owned so we could have them in multiple rooms. We've actually had a few issues with this device hearing us, even when standing very close to the device. We love our Echos overall, and the sound quality on this one is great, but we have had a few struggles with it.

I bought this as a gag gift for my wife. She returned the other gift (a bottle of perfume) but uses this device every day. Music plays, shopping lists get made, and the daily news is caught up on in no time. Alexa is pretty good at converting units when I cook and need to know how many tablespoons are in a liter, handsfree timer requests are easy to do and I find myself looking for ways to add more of these clever little devices. I would highly recommend this to all, in fact I'm off to buy one for my parents.

This product was extremely easy to set up and use. The whole family enjoys asking questions and the clarity of the speaker is great. We love the ability to link it to other smart products throughout the house.

The Echo is a great product, it was easy to set up and Alexa was answering questions in no time. There are several basic functions that the Echo is wonderful at: news, weather, music, time and timing. I love playing the Jeopardy game. I think that if I have anything to say on the "down side" it is that I had a higher expectation of the product's ability to search the internet for answers to some of my questions. Lots of my inquiries come back with the answer "I did not understand that question" or "I'm sorry, I do not know the answer." These are only a minor irritation/amusement. Overall, I am pleased with the product. Hopefully I will grow in my knowledge of the product and Echo will also grow in abilities through upgrades.

I didn't need one of these, but it seemed so cool, I took a chance. A year and a half later and I don't think I could get along without her. Shopping lists, to-do lists...I never get to store and forget why I went. You can be in your kitchen while you're throwing out an empty egg carton and just tell Alexa to add it to your shopping list. When you get to the store, it's there. No running around making lists and forgetting them. Check the weather, settle arguments. It was easy to set up and just gets easier to use.

It is fun talking to Alexa even though some of the silly questions did not get good replies but there are occasional questions do get unexpected answers. All in all, it is fun for everyday nonsense for the kids.

Then what are you waiting for ? If you don't have the money or really not into technology then this product is not for you. I have a iPhone 6s and use Siri not as much as I would like too cuz she doesn't understand me all that great but Alexa? Man she understands every word I say like flawlessly. The reason why I'm giving it 4 stars instead of 5 is because of the Skills now even tho it's over 3000 skills a lot of them are junk people made I wish more big developers would make some. Should be well known Trivia games in here even if you had to buy them unless I'm not looking in the right place. The main thing I'll prolly use the Echo for is to listen to music it's real easy to Alexa to play a song and it sounds great

THE ECHO WAS EASY TO INSTALL, PLUG IT IN AND FOLLOW VOICE PROMPTS. ONLY PROBLEM I HAD WAS FINDING THE PASSWORD ON MY ROUTER. ONCE I FOUND IT IT WAS SIMPLE TO CONNECT AND USE ALEXA. WE UUSE IT ALMOST EVERY DAY.

The Amazon Echo is my new BFF! I use it right now primarily for my shopping list. I say " Alexa, put eggs on my shopping list." And Alexa says back "I've added eggs to your shopping list." Then when I get to the grocery store, I open the app on my phone and there is my shopping list! No more forgetting what I needed to buy. I'm looking forward to learning more things that Alexa can do! I have played my Pandora music on the Echo, asked Alexa to tell me a joke, and checked the weather. She can do so much more.

We actually bought this Echo, after I had bought a couple of them for the house. I love the convenience of uttering commands and Alexa responding to them within seconds. Set up was easy, but you must get the accompanying app so you can complete the setup. While the app does have some neat features, I don’t really use it much. The other thing is that to be able to listen to unlimited music from Amazon, you have to get a subscription, which is like $4 or so. But you can always pair your own phone and play your own playlists from it. Otherwise, you get a limited selection from the Amazon library. There are other features that Alexa will do for you, like order supplies from Amazon, or tell you the weather or the Broncos game score, but those are just gimmicks, in my opinion. The neat thing for me is just being able to ask Alexa to play my favorite genre of music, and she’ll find a station for me in a matter of seconds. I paid around $90 for it, and also applied some of my B.B. points, so I got it for around $80, which I think it’s a fair value.

The echo is great and me and my family become so reliant on it for many things in our life. The device itself lack in features that are fixed or will be fixed in future generations. Like Battery or better Bluetooth integration. I find more skills to use every day. Everyone should own an alexa device.

Pretty much this is worth it just to have Alexa play anything from Prime Music. My kids love talking to Alexa (once she understand them) and I use the timer function all the time while cooking. Only keeps one shopping list and one to-do list but its great to just say something and have it added to a list. Alexa is great for the capabilities she has, but the skills are limited so far so I recommend looking into capabilities or plan on programming your own. For example, she doesn't come out of the box able to read your email even though she can access google calendar. She is also not proactive, such as notifying you of a phone call or email. But overall, fun add-on if you are in the market for a speaker.

This is my first time using a voice control device as I usually get frustrated with it. I am amazed how well it works, great access to all Amazon benefits, good speaker and loud enough in my living room

Love that Alexa does what I tell her when it comes to playing music or setting up the alarm or turning on my lights. Sound is great and loud enough. Thinking on getting another one for my living room.

Purchased two of these when they were on sale. One for myself and one for my sister. This device is awesome. I had the Hue lighting system prior to and had to have my IPhone or IPad around in order to control the lights. Now with Alexa I can let her handle that just by speaking to her. Now anyone in my ManCave can talk to her and control the lights as well as the music. Amazon Music Unlimited is just $3.99 with Alexa. Great deal. Give it a try. You won't be disappointed.

Have you ever had a device that actually changed your life? This is one of those devices. It's absolute genius. Echo is for you if you use Amazon Prime and have WiFi in your house. Tell it what music you want to listen to. Ask it how many teaspoons are in a 1/4 cup. Tell it what groceries you need. Tell it to turn on the lights, TV or anything you want with the addition of smart plugs. All in all, it's as close to flawless of any new technology I've ever had. Echo is worth every nickel.
