So much information is put at your fingertips. I love the unit and I'm going to buy one for my grandson.

I really do use my Amazon ECHO for all my alarm needs. I also do some cooking which needs a reminder when things are done or need to be added for the receipt.

This was purchased to have a second Echo in the house. The first one I have was placed in the living/kitchen area, as I use it to play music, add notes (a lot of items to my shopping lists) and appointments/reminders to my calendar. I love having a second Echo in the bedroom to give me the news brief in the morning, give me a status of the traffic and weather conditions, play music, etc. I've noticed a lot of imitations popping up by different companies, however, Echo is the best and has become an integral part of our house and lives. It sounds dramatic, but it's definitely true. Amazon constantly updates and adds new abilities/features. The ability to link it to lights, thermostat, etc. let's me think we are keeping up with the Jetsons! Highly recommend buying an Echo!

BEST thing that ive ever owned. my review is a comment i left in response to someones unfair, inaccurate 1 star review: sorry to hear that YOUR echo is useless. Mine on the other hand is awesome. just today alone, i used it as an alarm clock to wake up, turn on the lights and music to wake the kids for school, check how much gas was in my tank without going to the car, re-order toilet paper and laundry detergent for a price cheaper than the grocery store, hear the news headlines while drinking the coffee "alexa" made me when she turned on the coffee pot, roll a 20 sided die for a dungeons and dragons game with my one kid who managed to avoid summer school, pipe music into my home all day, order pizza for dinner, and get help with the kids algebra homework. After dinner we played jeopardy on it after the show aired, and used it to dim the lights inside, and turn on the porch lights outside when it got dark and i couldnt get up without disturbing my sleeping baby on my chest, who incidentaly fell asleep to the echo playing soothing music....she can also tell you facts about EVERYTHING you probably dont know, including starwars which pleases the kids, tells jokes, plays rock-paper-scissors, AND can call you an Uber. Have you tried activating her ever increasing fuctions via the alexa app? Oh, by the way, her speakers sound better than the bose speakers in my car so...yeah

...really wanted to go all in when these first came out, but very glad I bided my time. Excellent product and outstanding edition to our home automation. Plus highly entertaining for music, news, weather, you-name-it. Highly recommend!

Love it. Play any music, get weather, news, sports info and so much more. Create shopping lists and reminders. It's also an alarm clock and can make your home a smart home with some accessories.

Had purchased one of these for my family for Christmas and they absolutely loved it. Bought the Echo Dot for a co-worker and they wouldn't stop talking about it. Decided to buy my wife this for her birthday and all I can say is Wow! Super easy to set up, a blast to use, and connects to all sorts of connected home devices like light switches and wifi router. Plays Jeopardy and reads you the news in the morning along with playing music on command. Love setting alarms, reminders, adding to a shopping list, and making purchases on Amazon by voice. Definitely buy this if you want to make your home so much dinner!

Enjoying her a discovering all she can do, but there is a learning curve. She doesn't always understand what you're asking. You may have to ask the question in different ways until she gives you an answer you need. Regarding activating her skills is very easy, however when you ask her to perform a skill you have to word it just the way she needs to respond or at the very least remember the skill you gave her. Fortunately, there are books out there to assist you. I have to purchase one because I have no idea which the best to walk me through all of the thousands of things she can do. I will say this, the music aspect is wonderful. Once you active or connect to one of her music compatibility platforms, or even to radio stations.

Easy to set up and lots of great functions. Can play music, summary of the news, link in for the smart home
