Set up really isn't that complicated at all. Once you get the hang of what you're able to do with Alexa you will probably love it. Neat tip, you can also play nature sounds on it and use as a sound machine. We also subscribed to Unlimited option and this way we can pretty much listen to any music we want. Going to buy some wi-fi outlets so we can have Alexa turn on some of the other things we use in our house.

I hooked! I was skeptical about getting Alexa but the reviews were raving. I primarily use Alexa with the Phillips Hue Light Kit. I love that Alexa will turn my lights on and off when I tell her to do so. I can also control my lights from my phone or iPad. I can also ask her questions, get the weather, temperature, and have her set timers for me. I love her! I bought my parents one, too. They love her, too!

I purchased the Amazon Echo for my husband as a birthday gift. He had been eyeing it for quite some time, but it definitely seemed a little steep for what is essentially a Bluetooth speaker. But...oh were we wrong! The Echo is one of the coolest tech products we have ever had. It makes me feel like we are living in some futuristic home. Other than being an excellent Bluetooth speaker (which it is), Alexa sets timers, alarms, streams music through many different apps, tells you the status of your orders on Amazon, etc. We love it so much that we find ourselves searching for other products that pair with Alexa to enable it to do even more for us. We just bought our 7 year old the Echo Dot for his birthday and he absolutely loves asking Alexa questions and playing music. Very unique product and I can't wait to see what new things Alexa can do over time!

Ever since I got my echo Alexa and I have become good friends. It’s so easy calling her from across the room and asking her the weather or the time or just asking out to play some music such as Mozart which I love. You just talk to her it’s amazing. One of the best purchases I’ve ever made. Also I must say the sound that comes out of that little tube is amazing also

I love my Amazon Echo. It's not only a great start to setting up my smart home, but it makes my whole day run smoother - it wakes me up in the morning, briefs me on the morning news, tells me the temperature outside, plays my favorite music, and lulls me to sleep with relaxing nature sounds, turning off after a specified time. I don't know how I managed without it.

First, this is a great product. Seriously there is no reason not to own one of these. If you have an Amazon Prime account it is almost a must have. Setup is simple and once you add some of the skills to Alexa it's a whole lot of fun. We have a Wemo light switch that it controls, now that setup was a bit more challenging but nothing you can't get through. Plays any radio station, must genre, tells you the weather, helps with timers in the kitchen and the shopping list function is a huge help. Let's talk about the shopping list a little. You just tell Alexa what you want to add to your list and it will all appear in list form on your mobile device in the Alexa app as a check-off list. I'll give you one downside. Alexa seems to think the CNN news reporters are talking to her as they wake her up a lot.

This was purchased to have a second Echo in the house. The first one I have was placed in the living/kitchen area, as I use it to play music, add notes (a lot of items to my shopping lists) and appointments/reminders to my calendar. I love having a second Echo in the bedroom to give me the news brief in the morning, give me a status of the traffic and weather conditions, play music, etc. I've noticed a lot of imitations popping up by different companies, however, Echo is the best and has become an integral part of our house and lives. It sounds dramatic, but it's definitely true. Amazon constantly updates and adds new abilities/features. The ability to link it to lights, thermostat, etc. let's me think we are keeping up with the Jetsons! Highly recommend buying an Echo!

Ok ok. I’m not one for smart things but admittedly I DO like this! To get decent music you need an amazon prime membership or Spotify or pandora. BUT it will play radio stations, tell jokes, play games with you and you can connect it to things that you have a smart outlet attached to (lights, tv, whatever). It’s worrh it

Ok I was hesitant to get an Echo. BUT I'm glad I did. If you have prime your music is included....most of it. They try to get you for an additional fee, but you don't have to have it. Alexa is pretty awesome tho. Music keeps rolling as I work. Girlfriend uses it in her Pilates studio as well. Glad I bought it.

This is my second Echo. I have also purchased two dots. The Echo is a very useful tool. It answers most questions correctly and keeps me up on my calendar and lists. I like its ability to keep me informed on my sports teams. It plays all the music I can think of and has very good sound.

I wasn't sure about this product, but decided to give it a try. It controls the lights, A/C, sirius radio and has a wealth of information. Starts the day with a tidbit of information and ends the day with a joke. Easy to setup and use, highly recommend having Alexa join your family.

I love my Echo. I also got a couple of Echo dots to go with it. I have one in almost every room. It is a great wireless speaker, it is a great home automation system. I think Amazon is far ahead of the others this time. I am using my Echo to listen to music, news, get traffic reports, get weather reports, check my calendar, set alarms, timers. I use Alexa to control my smart lights, smart blinds, alarm system, smart thermostats,... I can control almost all my smart devices using Echo and Alexa. I think one area of improvement would be to have Echo/Alexa to act on triggers that connected smart devices generate.

I love my Echo for it's ability to play music but it's ability to control wireless devices is outstanding. I can control lights, fans, lamps, etc or anything that works off a WEMO or other compatible wireless circuit. A definite step forward in home automation.

Purchased on a whim. Didn't think we would use it very much. We use it daily for weather, shopping list, calendar for appointments, Pandora radio, Sirius XM radio, and getting random facts and information. We are really glad we decided to get our Amazon Echo!

I love my Echo. It’s great for almost anything. I use it for turning on lights, listening to music, weather, and answering questions when I need a question answered. The grandkids love it too. They use it a lot for setting timers.

Had several dots, and one echo throughout the house already. Wanted a speaker in the bathroom so I went with this. All other Alexa devises in house are black but went white with this one so it can blend in better in Bathroom. I have grown to like the white and may integrate a couple more that color. The only issue I have run inot with this is when the volume is set to 6 or 7 or higher, I have to wait for a break in the music or the news, or whatever is playing otherwise Alexa cant hear me. Makes it interesting if you need to turn down the music quickly. This is a problem I expect only because it is on a shelf that is about 5.5 feet high and in a corner of the room. If it were at a lower elevation I am pretty sure it could hear me better. I don't have this issue with other Alexa devices.

This is my third Amazon Alexa unit and it has made the home automation of my home a breeze. Compatibility with tons of home home automation devices and great sound and ease of set-up and use is a huge part of the appeal for me.

I love the echo and so does my whole family, We love to use it for listening to music . I like that it is handy if you can’t get to your phone you can just shout “Alexa “ and ask a question or order stuff from amazon.

This Echo has already been updated to a newer version, but this is a cool device. I am controlling everything in my house from the lights to security system. It has great sound for music that plays all day long.

I have been watching the reviews online and checking with friends that have purchased the Echo to see how much they liked or disliked its features. Last person I talked to went on and on about all the things there were using it for and that persuaded me it was time and Amazon Prime Day was the perfect opportunity to go for it. Amazon did a fantastic job of creating this tubular info-taining command center! There are so many cool and awesome things its able to do that I'll hit the highlights that work for our household. First, we love that it follows your voice in the room (the circle lighting will show which direction it is 'listening'), the speaker is wonderfully balanced, so whether listening to music, the news or to Alexa speaking, I have nothing but high marks for its sound quality, given its size. Next, set up (after downloading the app to our iPhones) was quick, easy and very intuitive. The more you look over the app, the more you will realize a world of 'skills' that the unit is able to perform once they are turned on and you master the right sequence of keywords to initialize them. We've added things to shopping lists, while asking about the weather and our calendar of events and then asked Alexa to change the temp of our Nest thermostats in various parts of the house, simply by saying her name and then our commands, sometimes sitting in the living room or simply pass through - she is always there listening and ready. We've ordered some LED programmable lights and I can hardly wait for Alexa to help set the mood in the house, room to room, all from a simple voice request. Even though we are fairly tech savvy and have phone, tablets and watches that can control devices, its HUGE to just ask for something and a pleasant voice setting it in motion.
