I wasn't expecting much, as Amazon is not really known to be in the TWS space but still... A company with that much resources and funding I expected a more polished and competitive product. Sadly, this is not the case the sound quality reminds me of some lower end budget options that you can pick up at Amazon. The controls are easy to use, the app is straightforward and the ANC is actually decent. The Sound is just the deal breaker for me. Save your money, spend more on something better

THE BREAKDOWN: The Echo Buds(GEN 2) are easy to get setup and sound great. The initial setup was done by downloading the Amazon Alexa app via the Apple store or Google play store. Once you get the app, just follow the instructions and within a couple of minutes you are connected and ready to use them. They do include some really nice instructions that are easy to read and follow. The Echo buds come with 3 different tips, (small, medium and large) and also some wing tips which is like a little silicone sleeve for the main body of the earbud. I have tried all of the tips and for me the best is one tip being medium and one tip being small. These earbuds include Alexa which I find a nice feature. Just by speaking to your assistance you can do a ton of things. One thing that I find helpful is the shopping list, I can just tell my assistant to add….milk and bread to the shopping list and poof like magic it is done. Very helpful in my option. The audio quality was very good with these earbuds. They are not the top of the line in sound but they definitely sound good on call, music and video. The ANC (Active Noise Cancellation) works very well as long as you have the right size tips selected. The battery life was good around 15 hours with case and 5 hours per charge on each of the earbuds. If you charge for 15 minutes you get 2 hours of battery life. PRO’s: - Alexa enabled - USB-C - Good battery life - Compact and easy to carry CON’s: - Not stellar on the bass - Had trouble getting the earbuds in the case properly SUMMARY: Overall, this product worked as intended, and I would recommend this to a friend if they are in the market for device like this.

I just picked up these new 2nd gen Amazon Echo Buds, and I am fairly impressed so far. The earbuds are true wireless and are capable of active noise canceling or passthrough mode. These earbuds claim to be sweat-resistant, and I believe them thus far, as I have had no issues even when running in the rain. I love how these buds connect to Alexa with ease, and you can just say the magic wake word “Alexa” and she is there to assist. Setting up the Echo Buds was a breeze. I already had the Alexa app, but once you open the earbud case, and the app, my phone instantly recognized the new device, and pairing the buds with my phone took seconds. So, the set-up was simple. Fitment is great, as these buds come with a fit kit that includes four different size rubber earpieces and three different size rubber wings. After you get those buds feeling just right, the app has a fitment test to ensure you are getting the most secure fit that will ensure the best sound. The case is a great size, small enough to put in your pocket, but not too small where it can become lost easily. Speaking of getting lost, the Alexa app lets you find your buds if they were to go missing, with a map and directions on how to get to their location. The sound quality is pretty good, not the best earbuds I have ever used, and definitely not the worst, these are right in the middle. I am glad the app has an equalizer which greatly improved the sound quality. The bud’s connectivity feels very strong, not once did the devices disconnect, or cut in and out, the connection worked flawlessly. I like the size of the buds where they are small and discreet and matte black, and not huge like some other buds out there. Overall, I think these are a decent pair of ANC true wireless earbuds. The sound quality passes for a water-resistant, ANC, and smart earbud that doesn’t break the bank. The fitment of these buds is perfect. The portability and battery life are great. The price point for these buds is on point. I would recommend this pair of earbuds, sure they are good, but I would also look around and see what else is out there.

Overall pretty solid pair of headphones. I purchased these solely to use while working out and for travel. The only downfall is they are pretty touchy, so when I am adjusting them in my ear they will pause easily. Besides that they are comfortable and are perfect for my needs. If I were using them more often and for hours during the day I may look at a pricier option, but these are great for my needs

I bought these after owning the 1st Gen Echo buds, and these are a huge improvement! Better sound, an upgrade to full ANC (instead of just "noise reduction"). The earbuds seem smaller and the case is WAY smaller. Priced way below earbuds with comparable specs.

These Amazon Echo Buds 2nd generation headphones are a recent purchase and have had them for only a couple of weeks now. They were very easy to set up as are most of the Amazon Echo devices. The sound quality is OK but lacking dimension. The highs are tinny and there is not much base. I bought them so that I could use them to communicate with the other echo devices in the house when I am outside (Alexa Announce or drop in) the problem is that I have not been able to get this to work. I will have to contact Amazon customer support to see if this function is possible.

Terrible touch controls for physical activity

Effectively useless for any physical activity. Experience from a short 30 minute jog in light rain. * 0-10 minutes: Even with the right combination of tips / wings, the bulbs are huge and don't fit well. Any touch to adjust triggers the controls which by default pauses your music. *10-20 minutes: For some reason the headphones start in pass-through mode. At a slow jog this feels like sitting in a wind-tunnel. The experience is unbearable when bike riding unless you like white noise mixed in with everything. Switching to noise canceling requires a long touch, so you might as well stop running for a second. Once you start remotely sweating, this will randomly trigger the headphones to switch between modes. * 20-30 minutes: The controls flake out even further in light rain. Expect periodic switching between noise-cancellation and pass-through mode about every minute.

These buds are ok. The function is average with a few drops in connection that I normally don’t get in other buds. The ear fit is not very good as well as protrusion from the ear which makes them likely to shift outward. Sound quality is good only after adjusting the eq in the Alexa app. Noise cancel is below average.

First "pod" style earbuds I've tried. First impression, they are solidly built. Takes awhile to get the fit right, but it's worth it. Hands free Alexa is a bonus. Would recommend.

The Echo Buds are fairly impressive so far. Setup was very simple. Add the Alexa app to your smartphone, open the app, open the lid to the ear bud charging case and they will find each other. If they don't, just click add device in the app and it will find them. Super simple. These buds are definitely intended to work with Alexa app. You will really enjoy these if you are heavy into Amazon smart products. You can pretty control anything using voice commands once you get the hang of it. The app is where you do all of your configuration. Bud tap options (which is important if you want to use a different voice assistant rather than Alexa), EQ settings, etc. I like the fit and the fact that they are lower profile than some other products. I really don't like to draw attention to my buds, and these check that box for me. If you get the right sizing ring on them, they are comfortable and seal well. A good fit is important on these buds because they relay on a physical barrier to keep competing sound out of the ear canal rather than fancy software. The general sound is on par with other buds in this price range. I own better sounding buds, but they were twice the price. I also have worse sounding buds that were about the same. Overall, I'm pleased with the sound. I definitely had to play with the EQ settings to get what I wanted, but I eventually dialed things in. I found that dropping the top and mid range a bit helped balance things out. The noise cancellation works pretty well. Most normal ambient sounds are largely filtered out as expected. The pass through mode lets just enough sound through to alert you to your surroundings. it's not great, and still find it a bit gimmicky on most devices, but it does make some different. The mic is just OK. I find that mic's aren't great in general on truly wireless buds, so this is pretty much par for the course. It gets the job done. You can definitely control the buds and make calls without issue. I don't love that the default settings of the tap buttons on the buds don't include volume controls. I don't really like having to reach into my pocket to adjust volume on my phone, or talk to my earbuds when I just want to turn things up or down. Maybe that can be changed in the settings...I haven't really dug into that just yet. Battery life seems fine to me. They've never died on me, and the charging case keeps them topped off when I'm not wearing them. I do like that they charging case is fairly compact and the lid stays closed. I have another much more expensive pair, and the case is too big and the lip flops oven if they get turned upside down. These are well sized and secure. If you are an Amazon geek you will love these. They are also great for workouts since there are very easy to use audio track controls. If you don't love Amazon products and don't really want to use voice assistants, then you might not be as impressed. You can certainly use them as simple earbuds, but that's really not what they were designed for.

The Amazon Echo Buds are decent sounding wireless earphones, with some nice features. The box includes everything you need to get up and running, except for a wall plug. But let’s face it, very few devices now days come with a cable and wall plug. The box comes with plenty of different sizes of ear tips, 4 to be exact and it also includes 3 different sized wing covers. The wing covers provide extra comfort, as well as providing a more secure fit. Lastly, there is a USB-C to USB charging cable. The Buds are light weight, so this makes them comfortable to wear, especially for longer periods of listening time. They also fit nicely inside my ear, and with plenty of sizing options, I was able to find the right size. The Charging case is average size for wireless earbuds, and it’s easy to see where the buds fit in. There is also 1 small LED light by each bud to know if you have them seated in the case correctly. The buds are touch sensitive on the ends of each tip, which you can customize what each ear does in the Amazon app. I did have several occasions where my touch wouldn’t register on the buds, or if it did there was a long delay. The amazon app is where you can get full control and use out of the Echo Buds. From the app you can, register them to your account, use the voice assist Alexa, customize the touch controls, and even customize the equalizer. The buds have 2 listening modes: Active noise cancelling and Passive. The active noise canceling is nice for mid tear pods, it does a good job at blocking out ambient noise making it easier to hear music or calls with any distractions. The passive or pass-through function is okay, it could be tuned a little better as I don’t really hear much of the environment that well. The most important part is the sound, which is on point with the Echo buds. I really am impressed with the sound quality. I’m not saying that they’re the best buds I’ve heard, but I will say that they do offer a good range of highs and lows. The buds pack some powerful base especially for their size, and good lows. Voices are heard clear, and it’s easy to understand. Overall, I think these are a decent pair of active noise cancelling earbuds. The one small complaint I do have is the touch controls do work that well, and when they do work, there is a long delay before anything happens. The pass through could also use some tweaks as well. They do sound good though and offer Alexa support. They can also run for about 5hrs (give or take on the settings you use). I would recommend these to anyone looking for a decent pair of ear buds.

Amazon Echo Buds (Gen 2) has more improved compact design compared to its previous gen and has similar external case design as airpods pro. It has improved active noise cancelling (ANC) instead of active noise reduction in Gen1, but not that great compared to Sony or airpods pro. This new gen now has USB- C instead of Micro USB for charging(gen1) and has a wireless charging case option for an additional $20. Comes in 2 colors (black and white). The new size and shape fit well compared to the previous gen that were large. Pairing and setup were easy with Alexa app. Sound quality is good but not great compared to airpods pro but on par with the competition of earbuds on this price range and perform well. Each bud has 3 microphones and sidetone feature that allows to hear your voice inside the earbuds which greatly eliminate the need of shouting when talking on calls. Passthrough mode is better and works well and can be toggled between noise canceling and passthrough mode by just taping and holding the either bud by programing on the app. A Single tap on the bud plays or pauses music, double tap tracks forward and triple tap tracks backward on music. All these can be programed in the app. Volume adjusted can also be programed to raise or lowered with touch controls or by using Alexa wake word. Just say “Alexa lower the volume or raise the volume”. Battery life is good and has 15 hours with the charging case and 5 hours of music per charge on each earbuds. A 15-min quick charge via the USB-C connection will get 2 hours of battery life. Pros: Good fit, comfortable, audio quality, solid battery life, good microphone, Alexa assistant. Cons: ANC not very impressive. Overall, it’s a budget friendly earbud with good design, audio quality, ANC and built in Alexa assistant with the optional wireless charging case.
