Okay, so the news media says it's like having a federal agent sitting on your counter, but as long as youre not plotting a crime, you should be good, especially if you don't tell Alexa to let you know when it's time to go rob a bank.... duh! Yes, it's got the capacity to listen and record, but in reality, it will tell me the weather easily, if there is traffic on my way to work, and some of the jokes are actually funny. The songs are cute - yes, she sings to you. Alexa will play the radio for you or control some of your smart apps with a little setup. Haven't tested the calling feature much yet.

I like the Amazon Dot so far. I have not explored all it can do yet, but am working on it. It is pretty easy to set up. I like that it can play my Pandora stations without me having to get into my phone or Ipod. My kids enjoy asking Alexa questions.

This is my first smart home purchase and have added a lot of accessories to it like smart outlets, Bluetooth speakers, etc. Alexa works well and can clearly understand what I am saying. Sound straight from the dot is not fantastic. I have mine connected to the JBL Charge 3 which sounds fantastic. I'm still learning the features which are sometimes difficult to figure out.

This is going into one of our bedrooms. Already have the main Echo in family room. Check calendar, ask weather, set alarms, play music, search for answers to questions, etc...

This product is amazing and lots of fun to use. The price was right at 29.99.

Works well for smart home intergration. I have one on both floors of my home.

This device can be used for a lot of smart home devices, play music, order items on amazon. For $40 (on sale) it's a great deal!

Alexa has a lot of capabilities, but its very much a “sold seperatly” product. If you want to be able to use it to its full potential, you will need to spend thousand. But, the best part about this product is that it works very well, and you can add to it at any time.

Fun to use. Great assistant. It was easy to set up, and it seamlessly connected to supported devices. I understands my accent clearly more than humans. I am greatly impressed.

It works ok most of the time. The voice recognition could use some improvement with how humans say things as when you want to turn on/off something you have to say the name of the item exactly right, say ceiling fan instead of fan, nope. Add please, nope. I would like to see the Logitech Harmony app be able to control multiple hubs. Although that's not the fault of this product.

Went to the store to pick up a Harmony Hub but the sales rep mentioned a deal for the hub and the Eco Dot for $10 cheaper than the price of the hub alone. So I went for it. Great decision! I am able to use Alexa to pretty much control my entire entertainment system!

I started out with this echo Dot, but it wasn't working well with my Harmony hub which controlled everything in my home entertainment center, so I switched to a Google home mini which worked great for awhile. As of late Google has had so many serious issues with their home, and home mini cloud making it virtually unusable, so I switched back. Happy to say that my echo is working perfectly with everything I need, from my lights, to my entertainment center, to my schedule, to my shopping list. Everything a GOOD virtual assistant should do.

This little Echo Dot is an affordable way to have ALEXA in every room! The most versatile Echo Amazon has for now. It allows you to connect to just about any speaker, using Bluetooth or with a cable you can purchase for under $5.00. If you use Bluetooth it is super simple to change from a smartphone to a Bluetooth speaker by just asking Alexa. I use this Echo Dot as my alarm clock and more. I use it to go to sleep listening to music/nature sounds. It's nice to be able to take my glasses off and still be able to start my sleep playlist add an additional alarm etc. I like being able to ask ALEXA for the weather. It is really nice to be able do everything by voice/hands free; especially in the mornings while I am getting ready for work. I also took it camping this summer in my little RV. Its so compact I think I will take it on my next vacation too!

I have the first echo (the tall one) and the sound is louder than the dot. This one doesn’t have bass and does not sound as good as it does in the commercials. If you connect a external speaker then the sound is way better, but for the price I paid it was worth it and I gave it to a family member as a gift.

This works just fine for me. Grand children love asking Alexa questions and getting her to tell them a story. I used it for music synced with my cell phone pandora

For the price the device is great. The original is better but I'd more money

Great device, works just like described. Easy to set up, easy to use. Looking forward to adding smart home devices to our house to allow the Echo to control them.
