Brought 3 of these, one for each bedroom and one for my family room. Absolutely the best things in the bedrooms other than the beds, lol. Started out with a Amazon Alexa and needed more of these toys just smaller in size. We use them for everything. ..weather, music, jokes, time and putting on our Hue lighting.

I brought the Echo Dot about 1 year ago and I am so amazed at what you can ask it. It is almost like having a personal assistant. It wakes me up in the morning. It tells me the weather and it controls my smart devices. I brought this one for my mom for Christmas. I hope she loves it as much as I do.

it takes up a lot less space than a clock radio and works great to play amazon music, play radio stations, set an alarm in the morning, set an alarm for taking a nap, set a sleep timer at night. put one in every bedroom and use it as a very small bedside radio and alarm. and you can ask Alexa questions too.

I have a couple of these as well as a couple of the larger full Echo's. Outside of the speaker quality, which is far superior in the Echo vs. the Dot, the functionality is the same. I put one of these in my bedroom and one in the basement gym so I can listen to music and control lights. I have a fire TV and two of my rooms and you can control that with the Dot. While the control aspects are not perfect, it does make it a little difficult to specify certain episodes (I'm still learning so this could very possibly be me doing something wrong). In total, this is great. If you listen to a lot of music you should get the bigger version as the speakers are much better. If you are going to hook this up to a bluetooth speaker or sound bar (as I did in one room) then save your money and get this. The functionality is great and controls my devices and smart home items perfectly. I also love being able to set an alarm for the morning and and it wake me up with a specific song (that I specify when setting the alarm).

Great little Echo Dot at an affordable price. Hooked it up to my Bose Bluetooth speaker and works great!

This is a lot of fun to play with. It’s neat to add skills to it and play with them, but as of right now I don’t have enough home automation adapters to do much “work” for Alexa. The more smart adapters and devices you have, the more functional this product will be. Vizio does not have a skill for Alexa, so it doesn’t interact with my brand new 4K tv, so that stinks, but it works great with my Bluetooth receiver. Buy it and enjoy!

I'm still involved with evaluating capabilities of the Echo Dot device. The speakers seem very good. Having a little difficulty with Alexa understanding what is being asked.

We bought two echos, and we are quite pleased. We have not gotten the full “Alexa experience” yet because we are still learning all she can do, but from what we’ve seen so far, it’s a really cool gadget to have in the house. As we learn all of the features, it just keeps getting better and better. We bought two smart wall outlets to go with them, and it’s cool to tell Alexa to turn them on and off. I bought the outlets for Christmas lights, and was nice to just ask them to be turned off and not have to get up and do so. Overall, it’s a cool gadget and can just imagine the possibilities once we buy more smart home devices.

I really enjoy this device. It makes life much easier with just the command of my voice. I am able to play my favorite music and save my favorite songs. I can turn my lights off and on, and communicate with Alexa with multiple topics. I will be purchasing 2 more devices for my home. Excellent product.

We have a few of these in our house. We bought the Alexa with the speaker for our family room to play music. The Dot does not come with as good a speaker but you can play music through it or connect it via bluetooth or mini cable to a third party speaker. The Alexa is great for making to do lists, setting reminders, keeping an eye on your calendar, as well as home automation. We paired this with the Lutron Caseta wireless dimmers and the integration is seamless. At $50, it really is worth a shot. There are lots of things you can do with it and Amazon keeps improving it. I don't know if Google's entry into this category will last as they seem to lose interest in things pretty quickly. Apple will probably join in the next two years so if you're entrenched in their ecosystem and don't want to dive it, that will eventually be here.

Great product. My son uses it for music as well as smart items in his room. Works great for alarm too.

I love my Echo Dot. It's not as expensive as the Amazon Echo proper, but I feel like it has almost all of the same features that the original one has, except for maybe better speakers. If you are buying an Echo product, the speakers aren't the reason you are buying it for. I love that I can control so many smart home items with my voice. I can play Spotify or Pandora, ask Alexa to tell me a joke, send messages to other friends who have an Echo Dot, and so much more. The amount of skills Alexa can learn is ridiculous. My favorite option is the Sleep Sounds option. I ask Alexa to play this skill as I fall asleep and I ask Alexa to also put a sleep timer so it's not playing all night. I like falling asleep to some soothing sounds but I hate waking up to music or sounds once I hit that REM space. I always wake up and even though the volume might be really low, it sounds like it's blaring to me. The sleep timer feature solves that problem and It's great. It's a powerful little guy. Very inconspicuous. Definitely recommend.

Easy to setup smart device. Plays music. Can be grouped together to play music on several devices at one time for whole house music, however the speakers will not be the same quality as the full size echo or google home. Seems more stable than the google home/had issues with google home stopping music play randomly. Controls smart devices as expected and easy to set up. I have one for every room. Great stable platform for home automation!

It take me only 10 minutues unpack/setup with my Amazon prime account without any issue. Take another 5-10 minutes integrate all my other devices : 1. Buzzi device 2. TP-Link module 3. Bluetooth speaker 4. Create groups with Alexa voice control with everything. I even connect Echo Dot connect to my PC(with bluetooth enabled) and play all my mp3/mp4 songs/videos through Alexa voice commads. Overall, very satisfy this little device.

I enjoy the features and skills. It does have a little learning curve to know what the commands are for various skills. Changing pandora stations for example, you have to use specific phrases. Got the LiFx bulbs, speak phrases correctly but Alex says she doesn't understand the question often. Unsure if it's the skills fault or the echo. I enjoy learning new tech so I find it interesting to try new things with the echo. My goal is to have it in my car, but it doesn't see my iPhone wifi hotspot. Still working that out. For the price it's a no brainer. Best Buy I prefer to Amazon shopping. I appreciate the brick and mortar. I will always buy and support local jobs when the product is available and at a competitive event price. I think it terrible that amazon promotes using these stores as showrooms. I almost didn't buy this product for that reason, but I was curious to see what all it could do and decided to buy it at BestBuy and not from amazon. Get one and support your local jobs! You'll be glad you did, it's definitely a fun little device.

This device is great for music and tech lovers.great voice recognition and havingnthe ability to set alarms is great. No need to read instructions simply play with it.
