Just wished the clock writing was bigger for my dad I taught my elderly dad to use this for everything turning on the lights turning on the fan turning the living room light on and off any light in the house! He loves it best thing ever because his Mobility is not all that good anymore

In all fairness of course, Google is a search engine. But Amazon has been improving. So I finally bought a new Amazon smart speaker for the bedside nightstand, and it is perfect for what I need it for. It’s a alarm clock, shows me the weather with its graphic, and as Alexa improves, I can easily ask for my favorite radio station by simply asking, “Alexa, play (for an example) 106.7 KROQ.” If you want something simple and cute, and you are already set up with Alexa, this is perfect.

Great sound and it shows the album cover of the songs that she plays. Now I wish I had bought one for hubby and myself when they were on sale.

The replacement was because when my cable box (with a clock built in) was upgraded, the new box had no clock on it. I figured it was a good excuse to upgrade Alexa. Install was a breeze with the Alexa app. The sound and response time is great. I did adjust default settings to not dim the clock at night so you could see it from across the room.

I connect my phone and I can play music and alexa can play a music playlist based on customer choices of music. Overall a good investment

I use Prime music with it. With Alexa, it can do much more than I current request. Larger Amazon devices have better sound, but for this Echo Spot, the sound is good for its size

Just tell Alexa want time you want to get up and it's done. No fumbling with buttons and switches to set the alarm. No more multiple alarms to set. Just tell Alexa and the alarms are set. Also you canc control the brightnrss of the red nightime digital face. That's another great feature.

However, Alexa still struggles to follow basic commands reliably, which makes the smart assistant experience frustrating. Another drawback is that you can’t freely use your music app of choice—being locked into limited options feels restrictive.

I am sorry that you are experiencing some reliability issues with Alexa. We are constantly working to improve upon our products and services and that includes Alexa herself. There have been numerous improvements over the years and we have more coming soon. Be sure to check up on how some of those changes will be an improvement for your experience with the upcoming Alexa+ service. We do still maintain a very intuitive and user friendly design with the standard version of Alexa however, so if you are finding issues with certain commands, feel free to provide feedback directly within the Alexa smartphone app or by simply telling her that you have feedback. Any and all feedback is welcome. You can also find an FAQ and Quick Tips directly within the Help section of the Settings and More section of the Alexa smartphone app. Lastly, you can absolutely use the music app of your choice and are not limited to just the default Amazon Music service. You can link accounts such as Spotify, Apple Music, Pandora, amongst others by navigating to More (the 3 line icon in the lower right of the screen in the Alexa smartphone app), Music & More, then tap the gear icon in the top right. This will allow you to choose and link the service of your choice for Music and/or Podcasts. So you can even mix it up if you prefer a different service for Podcasts versus Music.
