I love the fact that you set a alarm by talking to it and play music and you can also set your favorite picture on the screen

Bought for christmas for my parents. They love it! They are not the least bit technically inclined, but still thoroughly enjoy the new edition to the family. With Alexa’s various skills, she is able to do anything my parents ask of her. I also bought them some Philips Hue light bulbs and they love the idea of being able to turn on and off the lights without even having to get up. It was an amazing replacement for their old alarm and was the first step into the never-ending chain of creating their smart home.

Alexa is helpful for me since she can set timers and reminders. On top of that she plays my music and I was able to connect my arlo to check the cameras (all hands-free). The down fall is that it seems like shes always listening.. She will randomly talk when we are not requesting for her assistance. If she isn't connected to wifi she gets annoying, every time she hears you talking she will remind you that she's not connected to wifi. I did just recently find out we can mute Alexa overall it's good.

Love Echo. Fits in w my decor... A simple & new Alexa speaker w WORDS...!!! Can even make calls to my contact list... Cool...!!!

Works easily as an alarm clock. Tells you the weather. Syncs with other echo's. Gets confused when the TV says Alaska.

I was looking for a “clock radio”, basically something I can have by my bed that shows the time and is capable of making some good noise. I was shuffled to the radio section. Not what I wanted. On my way out, stumbled on the Echo Spot and fell in love. It was exactly what I wanted. I love the dimming when the lights are turned off. And it does some awesome things just because I ask it to, just like the Echo. Only it’s in a small and discreet but solid design.

Love the echo spot. I like the ability to have so many functions at my voice,like Clock, music, news, weather.

The Spot is actually just like the Dot but with a screen. Not sure if the additional almost $100 price tag is warranted.

Love the Echo. Video chat is great, it's very responsive, sleek, and speaker is really good for something so small.

I have learned you can never have too many Alexas. Sometimes I find myself in car ready to ask Alexa a question. It’s very sad. The spot is a fun video version of the traditional dot. The spot is nice looking and has decent sound. I found that I have to speak up a little bit as compared to the traditional designs. It may be because the speakers do not go all around. If you are a fan of Alexa, add this to your arsenal. It’s just another fun a.i.

I have a few other echo models throughout my house, and by far this one is the most disappointing. Overall the device performs just fine for how it is made, however, it honestly just doesn't compare to it's counterparts in any way. Sound: The sound on this speaker is very subpar. I placed it in my kitchen, as I figured it could show recipes, etc. while cooking, however, the volume when playing music at maximum doesn't very clearly reach over about 15 feet. It gets diluted very easily. Sensitivity: I have a generation 2 Echo (regular) that is placed behind the TV in my living room. The sensitivity on that device is insanely better than this Spot. I'll be standing much closer to the Spot, and the Echo picks up my audio commands more often. Screen size: I have contacts, so with them in my vision is pretty good, but even from just across my kitchen (that is not very big) it's difficult to make out the writing on the screen, especially while moving around. If you're going for an Echo device with a screen, I think the Show is probably a better option. I have talked to some friends who utilize this device in a baby's bedroom both to softly play music and to utilize to drop-in and have been happy with the results, however, for day-to-day use there are far better options, especially for larger, more open rooms. TL:DR Device works well for it's price range, however, it is easily outdone in almost every aspect by it's counterparts. Also, I bought this device for $30 as an add-on, so for that price it's performance has been stellar.
