Does what you ask it to do. It's almost instantaneous

As voice control get more main stream this will be the product known for starting it. Speaker sound is not bad, but not amazing as I use it mostly for music. It is nice to say "Alexa, play Taylor Swift" and bingo you got Taylor playing. You can set up smart home things like lights, etc. Does what it is made to do very well.

Sound is good. Very convenient for getting weather, setting alarms, news updates. Alexa sounds so much like a real person. Love that!

I'm not normally a techie person, but I read so many positive things about Amazon's Echo and Alexa, I splurged and gave it a try. I absolutely love it! Of course asking questions about traffic, weather, recipes, etc. can be a blast, but I have to admit that my favorite part is being able to request any type of music I'm in the mood for, and even change my mind a few minutes later, without having to sort through CD's or putz around with the various 'plays' or radio stations on my phone or laptop. Definitely a gadget worth the money!!

interesting information and support to the home. I have used it many times to gain information for my daily life. I can listen to music, have an XM Radio, sports up date, business up date and many other items. There are always updating and they are expanding what it can do. Helps me run my home security system and home.

I just love the Amazon Echo. It does so many things that I've almost started to take them for granted. From the time I get up in the morning or when I get home from work Alexis is ready. First thing in the morning I ask about the weather and a synopsis of the news. I have her play music while I'm getting ready for work. I can set a timer if I'm cooking or to remind me it's time to leave. If a question pops into my head I can ask Alexis. If I want to know what's on my calendar for the day, I ask Alexis. Where have you been all my life?

Great for streaming music. Tells corny funny jokes.

Fun and easy to use. Must be very specfic when asking questions. Music not as good as music played on Sirius. Has good sound and can hear you speak from across the room. I would buy again and recommend to a friend.

I absolutely love Alexa (the wake-up name for the Echo). She tells me a funny fact every morning after I say "Alexa, good morning" then I tell her to play my favorite wake-up song(Good Morning Starshine) followed by the local weather and morning news. I get free music all day long from Amazon Prime and I can always hear a Chuck Norris joke. The sound quality is amazing, comparable to a Bose system and it was perfect for our last party. I get updates all the time for new stuff Alexa can do. I love my Echo and find it endlessly fascinating!

The Echo is one our most used devices at home. The voice recognition, while not perfect, is one of the best I've tried (especially when it can hear our voices from afar). What I really enjoy about the Echo is the simple uses, such as quickly setting a timer for cooking purposes or setting an alarm for when playtime is over for the kids. The audio quality is also very decent - we live in an apartment so the size is perfect. Overall, one of Amazon's best devices - if not the best - and one of the most useful you'll have in your home.

Alexa is one smart device . she reminds me of appts. Controls my lighting. once I change my themostat she will make sure we are comfortable.

Space saving device and energy saver. Feel like a king commanding for information and ease of use - my music streams well and quality of sound is great coverage over 2000 square feet perimeter. Must buy product!

Got this for my 70 year old mother for Christmas. She is intimidated by most tech but wanted easy internet access. Got her the Alexa along with the 8" kindle. It was very easy to set up and easy to teach her how to use it. The speaker quality is really very good....much better then I expected. Streaming music and basic info requests are very simple. Not sure if this unit will get to all it's capabilities but it's just what we needed to get some tech into mom's house. Only down side is now I think I need one at home too!

The echo is a quality speaker, easy to setup, and easy to use. It is used daily for music, new, and weather.

This thing is great, turns my lights on and off, tells me stock market details and even tells me jokes. Couldn't live without it.

It literally speaks for it self!!! It's awesome to have something update me on news and entertainment! And the fact that it uses spotify for music as well, that's to awesome. I got it on my Birthday and told Alexa ( the echo's name) it was, and she said, " happy Birthday". That's Show's how personal it can get, then the other voice active products. The speaker works almost to well! I live in a 2 story town house, and the voice command can work as I'm walking down stairs. Just check the product out for yourself. You will want one!

Great little device. Very handy to have around the house. Microphone works surprisingly well. Must have Amazon Prime and obviously internet to take full advantage of product. Speaker sounds great in a small room. Louder than I thought. Only 2 cons that are annoying: 1. It should have separate volume levels for the 'Alexa' assistant and for music. When you play music at a lower volume then you can't even understand Alexa until you turn up the volume. 2. It is terrible at Google search. For some answers like "what day is President's day?" it works. For others, you don't get any answer.

Made life so much easy... reads news, weather, time, shopping list, to do list.. without us having to look at phones... awesome product
