    Good basic tablet

The Kindle Fire 7 is a good basic tablet. It is attractive looking - I like the blue. It's not super fast, but not really slow. It's good for reading and basic games. I did not like the keyboard...it seemed squished. I am used to Samsung though. Sound quality is meh. Battery life is good. The biggest reason I ended up getting a 7 inch Galaxy Tab a month after buying this Kindle Fire 7 is because the blue light filter on this thing makes the screen some shade of orange or red, and I cannot find a brightness setting with that filter on that does not hurt my eyes. I want to read Kindle books in the dark so I don't disturb my wife. The second is that the screen is cluttered by things I do not want - and this version of Android is very much un-customizable. Overall...I think this is a good quality product, and I trust Amazon. I don't hate this tablet, and will probably keep it at work in my desk where I won't need the light filter. But...I wish I'd spent a little more and just stuck with Samsung.

It's a decent tablet, definitely worth the price. It would rate higher with me if it didn't include ads. Not sure if this has been fixed, but at the time I bought it as a gift, the best buy listing did not state it contained Amazon advertisements. I was skeptical at first because compared to Amazon prices, this price for the 7" corresponded to their price for the one with ads. The same tablets without the ads is a bit more expensive so I bought it online and my wife went to pick it up. I told her to ask and make sure it didn't have ads. Of course the best buy rep confirmed it didn't have advertisement so she picked it up for me and I gave it as a gift. After turning on the tablets, the ads were there, always on the lock screen immediately. So aside from that, it's a pretty decent tablet for it price. Side note : There are ways to get google play on it pretty easily on it. Just search for the instructions online and you'll get plenty of results on how to get the google play store on it.

The tablet doesn't have any issues at all. Does everything it should. One compliant, it is very difficult for her to navigate this one, vs the one that she had before and broke. This one has several tabs across the top, if you choose games, (so she can play what we downloaded) it pulls up a lot of games to download, instead of what you have downloaded. So you then have to go into the library section to see your games. If you click the description it takes you to play store. You have to click on the actual picture to get started on a game. Also, getting to YouTube is a pain. I need some help to set this up for a childs use without her having the option of purchasing games or videos (and yes I have no credit card associated with it so she cannot technically buy), as well as making her downloaded games into icons that would just be put on a empty page for her to choose from, without having to go to the game tabs, getting excited by the games she sees available but hasn't and cannot buy. To list her Icons for the games she has already downloaded on one page would be amazing.

I have extensive experience with tablets, and was at first pleased with this item however as I used it more, it seemed to be slow loading apps like the NYTimes or the WashingtonPost however since I primarily purchased this for my mother who is very tech illiterate, it seems to suffice so far and she gets a kick out learning to use Alexa. The Alexa response to the most popular enquiry in the house “What’s the weather” Is really good and as time goes by I am certain to appreciate this device it in ways I’m not aware of right now. I do own a older (not Alexa enabled tablet which I like) I’d give it 4 stars but the slow loading of the apps is annoying especially since the router in their house was just upgraded.

I bought this tablet when it was a part of the Deal of the Day for my child to use. It's an ok, Android tablet. I did not want to pay twice to three times as much for the kid-friendly version. I tested that version in the store, and I did not think the extras were worth the extra money. The app/games my kid wants I can get from the app store. This tablet is a basic one, with just enough functionality for a young person to play with. Since it was at a great price is the main reason why I bought it.

The good: excellent price, color and resolution of the screen; great size and light weight, convenient to carry around. The not so good: although faster than a Paperwhite when choosing among purchased Kindle books, often agonizingly slow response time; extremely limited apps and hard to navigate around the apps store (exacerbated because of the slow speed). The "7" is most certainly not a bargain iPad but, if not in any way in a hurry, is not unreasonably useful.

I wish I could give half stars, because I would probably make my review 3-and-a-half. This is a good, not great tablet. I've had iPad minis for years, But after I gave back my iPad Mini from Sprint, all I had was an original iPad mini, which is underpowered and can't be updated. So I decided to give this Fire a try. It's just OK. The interface is fine, but can be sluggish at times and the Silk browser has a few quirks that are annoying. If I had it to do over again, I'd probably spend a few extra bucks and go with the Fire 8.

Bought to use as a mp3. And audio books ONLY. So I can go off without internet. Don't like. Should have bought another Samsung android. Have 3. One for each purpose. This fire kindle was a bad idea for a mp3. Audio book machine. To late I'm stuck. Thinking of the cost. I got cheap now I pay for it. I'm sure it would be good for other reasons. Amazon wants buy buy buy.

I was not expecting a ton of performance, I bought it for the fact that if you have Amazon Prime, you can download things to watch without needing Wifi. Unfortunately, when I downloaded something, it would sometimes work, other times it would give me an error, and I would have to then download it again, which kind of ruins the experience of not needing WiFi. I returned the tablet. Worked wonderful for everything else I tried though.

I bought 3 of these on Black Friday as Christmas gifts for grandkids. Price was great and they were delivered in 3 days. Bought them because they were such a good price, but will reserve judgment on how good they are. I bought two of the same ones last Christmas and they only lasted about 6 months then stopped charging, but bought again because of the good price.

I think this tablet was pretty good for the price. If you're looking for something small and you just want to do some shopping or some reading on it does the job. For watching Netflix or Hulu it doesn't have the biggest screen or the best sound quality. I think the bigger one would be better.

I would say overall this product is okay . The speakers could be louder . It only has one small speaker on the back, the picture could be a little bit more clearer instead of squinting the apps are geared towards younger children to teenagers . I have yet to find a adult like app . How ever the battery lasts Long time vs most product s I've had

We have had multiple iPads and Fires. There is a reason the Fire is cheaper...battery life on the 7” is pretty bad. We have an 8” as well which seems to hold a charge better. Overall these are very kid friendly devices. Amazon does good product support for this regardless of where you bought it. They’ve replaced 2 Fires for me without cost.

This tablet is great especially at a black friday price. My only complaint is I'm not an Amazon product user so when I went to download some of my ($14.99+) paid apps that I have through Google I found out I would of had to repurchase them for use with Amazon, which was my fault for not realizing this from the beginning but unfortunately was a deal breaker for me.

I recently purchased the tablet because thought it was a good deal for Black Friday and was looking not to spend too much but when I started to use it the quality of the pictures and videos was not to my taste and when going on line to use Facebook or YouTube it was very slow. Even when downloading apps it would take a while so I ended returning it and getting the Amazon Fire HD 8 instead.

This tablet is great for the price. But there is so much Amazone junk on this tablet. The older versions you where able to delet everything you didn’t wanted. Maybe there is still a way, but I can’t seem to find it. If you have everything from Amazon, this is a great tablet. If you want to use this tablet as just a tablet. Not so much!

I had heard about the Ammazon Fire tablet for awhile and decided to purchase one for travel since my iPad is a little large to carry around in my purse. The Fire tablet is very light and portable. It is a little difficult to navigate and I had a lot of problems connecting to public wifi so that was very disappointing. I am giving it another try soon an d hoping for better results.

I bought this tablet brand new it has many cool features and pretty sturdy but everything on it uses so much storage. I bought a memory card but you can't put most of the stuff on it. Also it's very slow i ended up giving this tablet to my 8 year old daughter it's perfect for her not so much for me.

I bought this for Black Friday 2017. It is a good size to read books..and, I really liked it..However, the USB connection went bad. I did not buy the geek squad warranty..as, I only paid $30..for it. I assumed it had a manufacturer warranty..I found out..it does not...so, not great review..thought it should last longer
