    I am using this with the dock to control my smart home lights, cameras, and speakers. I couldn't find a better alternative that was reasonably priced. But it is SO slow. I am used to iPads and it's just a night and day difference.

    I love the Fire HD 8. I have had one for a couple of years. The new one had to be replaced, because it kept giving me a warning that there was water by the charging post. But I always keep it in a closed tablet case.

    My ipad 3 finally needed to be replaced after more than 10 years. It still works great, but I cannot download newer apps. I really only use it to watch tv, Netflix and Amazon Prime in general. I watch TV on the Optimum opp often. I went to the Amazon APP Store to download it. It would not even come up. Got on the chat with the Amazon help desk. After 30 minutes and 3 different people no one could help me. They told me to wait 48 hours and they would try to fix it. FYI their website says you can use the Optimum opp. I found several apps I wanted to try in the app store on Amazon.com. At least 5 would not even download. It seems to be a decent product but if you cannot even download apps that their website says should be there, kind of pointless. If they can fix it then I will keep it. If not, I will probably return it.
