I purchased a 7in Fire tablet last year, and was absolutely surprised at the performance of it. My wife uses it now, and just loves it. When the 8in went on sale for Black Friday , I just had to have it for my use, and have not been disappointed. I would definitely buy this again. By the way, am a retiree and use mainly for email and purchases. LOVE IT.

This tablet is not the fastest, doesn’t have the sharpest screen, and the battery life could be better. For 25$ (Black Friday) you do you expect? This tablet is great for kids as it’s very durable and is a great size. Also, if you have amazon prime or any other amazon services, this connects with your account and you get all of your content instantly!

I bought this tablet primarily to use as a book ereader. The size and weight are excellent for that. The screen resolution for type isn't as good as an iPad, but still acceptable. Would have preferred an iPad Mini, but the Amazon Fire was on sale and literally cost one eighth as much as a new Mini and less than half as much as a Kindle Paperwhite.

I love this tablet and think it's an unbeatable value for either sale or regular price. I was having terrible WIFI issues with the 2017 Samsung Tab A 7" (drops as often as 8 in a minute) and when I sent it to Samsung for repair, they claimed it was fine and to check my network, despite the fact that NO other device dropped on the same network (including Samsung KS8000 television, 2 other Samsung tablets, Galaxy S5 phone, etc.) I've come to the conclusion that Samsung is all about marketing and image, but falls flat in so many important areas. I was obviously a fan previously, but won't be moving forward now that I know how they operate. Now to the Fire HD8. Zero WIFI drops since I got it (yahoo!), nice screen, very durable, great layout, etc. I followed steps online to install the Google Play Store and now I have a tablet that I would take any day of the week over the smaller Samsung that costs 50-125% more than this. For the price, there's nothing I can really complain about. Very happy with my purchase.

Great size compact tablet, plenty of apps to download. Also external slot for and SD card to add more memory. Alexa is available to answer all kinds of questions or play music. Spotify and Pandora apps also make music playing easier. Excellent device for reading books through the kindle app.

It's good for shopping... on Amazon

Get this for shopping and fun, not for productivity. This is an inexpensive tablet chocked full of bloatware and ads. I got it for the wife and she uses it to play mini games and shop, and that's what it's meant for so mission accomplished. The GOOD: It's cheap. Fairly good battery life. Fairly decent screen. Quick charge time. The BAD: It always has some sort of advertising for amazon shopping - annoying at times. Sound quality is terrible. Made of super slippy material, hard to hold; get a case for this or you will drop it; often. Amazon only apps. No android or IOS apps will work with this. It's kinda slow. No YouTube. Overall: If you need a simple tablet for light web browsing, shopping, music, movies, reading and small games then this will work fine. As a primary productivity tablet, forget it. Get something way more robust than this.

I remember when in the sub $150 range, all you could get was a slow tablet that couldn't run anything. And it only got worse the lower you went. This is under $50 and it's far superior to the Galaxy tab 7 inch line. I have no complaints at all. This is fast and simple.

Great tablet for a beginner,It has about 12 hours battery life, it has many settings that you can use to save your battery by going off Wifi if you don't need it. It is an 8 inch HD display, it has a quad core processor, 1.3 gigahertz. It it has 16 or 32 gigabytes of internal storage

I got lucky and bought this on sale for $49, it has great picture quality (I got it mostly to watch movies on the go) the only downside so far is the camera takes really bad grainy photos, but I did not buy it for that so I would say it is a great value.

This is my third kindle. I love the size and the portability. I have over 1,700 books store. I am able to access my books when I download them to my kindle even when I am not online. I have a expensive laptop but prefer using my kindle for everything.

Purchased the Fire on sale!! Love the ability to read a book when ever there is downtime. It is a little larger, which I like better than trying to read on a phone. It fits in my cargo pants pocket easily, is thinner and lighter then the previous Fire.

Not only is this one of the cheapest tablets, it’s the easiest to use in my opinion . Even coming from an Apple user I had no trouble navigating . Aside from that it has great had display although not 1080 . Great for using Netflix and YouTube

Bought myself one and the gf loved it. Decided to get her one. Got it for $50, totally worth it. Decent screen size, hd quality, long battery life. One gripe... You really need to mess around with all of the settings to get rid of Amazon's ads and notifications.

After having the 8.9 hdx and going without a kindle for a few years I really missed the lightweight, versatile mini tablet, as I call it. Sound is good, love the new blue light night feature, fast, lightweight, long lasting battery.

Not too bad. More freedom to do what you want. Expandable memory. Way better than the previous version. Major upgrade. Of coarse it’s not going to be as smooth as an operating system from Apple but for the cost difference you’re better off going with this.

Was in expensive, easy to set up, and works well. I am an android fan, but for what I spent, I am a fan. 16gb on board, all apps are automatically saved to memory card when purchased. Sound, ok, but better with headphones.

Happy with Amazon Fire HD 8

I bought this Amazon Fire HD 8 purely for personal travel use because I dont like to bring my laptop in case if I lose my laptop! This Amazon Fire is cheap enough that if I lose it during personal travel, I don't care & I will just buy another one. This is my first Amazon Fire. So far, I am happy because the screen is big enough during internet surfing that I can see a whole lot better than my 4" cell phone. If I could "re-do" my purchase, I should have purchased the Amazon Fire 7. Both Fire 7 & HD 8 fit in my side pants' pocket, but HD 8 is a bit bigger & thus heavier. When I looked at both Fire 7 & HD 8 in the Best Buy store, they were not connected to wi-fi. So I purchased HD 8. And, I will keep HD 8. I dont think it would be right for me to return it to BB to exchange for 7 because I already opened the package. Overall, I am happy with Fire HD 8.

I got my Kindle fire hd 8 and was very pleased with it. It was just the right size. I use mine for photography with birding apps. Works great. I also use it to get on Facebook. I can read easily with it and I use it daily.
