I grabbed this when it was on sale for Black Friday because it was such a good price. I had a regular Kindle before & traded it in to Amazon with the intention of getting another regular Kindle but I never did. In the meantime I did get an iPad Pro & I thought that would function as my Kindle/e-reader. Don’t get me wrong, I love my iPad. But the iPad Pro is just way too big to comfortably read in bed (12.9”) or carry around in my bag to have with me when I expect to be in a waiting room somewhere & might want a book or magazine. It’s also too big (and too expensive) to bring to the gym to set on the treadmill to watch a TV show while I workout. So I grabbed this Kindle hoping it would be everything my iPad is not. So far it does everything I need it to do. It was easy to set up right out of the box. I easily synced it with my Amazon account so I could pull my books, music, movies, & TV shows right from my Amazon account right away. I did add the Netflix and Hulu apps so I could watch some shows while I worked out. The screen is great. The picture is crisp and clear & way better than I expected. The sound is fantastic. It is easy to read on (which should be no surprise since that it was Kindles are made to do). I like that it integrates so easily with my Goodreads account. I haven’t spent much time browsing the web on it since that’s not what I bought it for. So I can’t speak to how it functions as a traditional tablet. But as an e-reader and media player, it is fantastic. I have had some issues with the SD card alerting me that it has been removed when it wasn’t, but some research showed me that it is not an uncommon issue with these Kindles & I’m hopeful that it will be resolved soon. Overall this is a great little tablet. It’s small & lightweight enough to just throw in my bag & have with me wherever I go. The size is perfect to read a book, but also a great size to watch a movie on when you’re on the go. It also feels pretty sturdy. I did buy a case for it, but I feel like it’s pretty solid on its own.

My wife's Ipad Mini had issues, she wore it flat out, and wanted to get another one but did not want to spend the money on a new iPad, so we gave this one a try. After BB Reward Zone $ I got it for about $100ish with 32gb of memory. To be clear, this is not on the same level as the iPad mini but it was not designed to. Technical specs not quite as good but for $100ish dollars from a reputable company it is not bad at all. The first thing to note is that it does not come with the ability to download from the Google Play Store. You can can get around this by side loading Google and there are plenty of websites to tell you how to this very easily. My wife has been burning it up with this tablet and she really likes it. She can let go of some of the shortcomings vs the iPad mini. Overall she likes it, which is good. So if you are wanting an inexpensive tablet from reliable company, try the Fire tablet.

I purchased the Amazon Fire HD8 as an upgraded Kindle, but have been pleasantly surprised as a tablet. I have a Samsung Tab Pro 12.2, but it's heavy, gets hot, and uses up the battery quickly. The Fire is light and, once you download the Google Play app, you can install most Android apps. which run like they do on my Samsung Tab. But, the Fire is a lot cheaper and the battery lasts much longer. I'm thinking about trying the new Fire 10.1 coming out soon with full 1080 HD.

Wonderful newest generation. Faster and lighter than the last one. Also nice upgrade to the home screen programming. Make's it much easier to see and find what you have looked at. It is used for everything from reading, internet, shopping, email and even spreadsheets. Also, the price is a no brainer. Great little tablet.

Bought it for my kids. Never bought Amazon tablets before because Youtube kids is a must have. However, installing Google Playstore, framework and services was surprisingly easy and from there was just easy. There was an excellent list of games and entertainment on Amazon store and integration with my Prime account was extremely simple. Price point for the performance and quality of this tablet $49.99 8" 16GB & $79.99 32GB) against most other ordinary name tablets which are $100+ is outstanding. Presence of ads and other material really isn't a problem and well worth the discount I'm very happy.

Tablet is easy to set up and to use. The Alexa function is a great asset. It is small enough to carry anywhere and functions with the precision one would get from a fuller size tablet. Great functional tech tool.

The tablet has excellent battery life, great resolution, easy enough to get started on. I use it with my Xfinity app to watch TV and download movies, and it works well and easily. My email account is with Office 365, and I had no trouble making that work. It is especially good when you import Amazon's apps or use Kindle books. I assume that is also true with their music. I would rate this five stars if it was apparent how to import photos and music from my PC without the tablet mixing it all up. I really want the thing to play a symphony in the correct order, not mix up the movements and intersperse them with other songs! The same thing happened with my pictures. On my widows PC they are all nicely in order in folders. Now they are spread out in no order at all. It is possible that I must import via USB cable, and I will try that. But it should be possible to use the SD card, as that is an easier way to transfer content. Other than that, I am quite satisfied.

First, let me say that this is my first Fire tablet. I've previously had either iPad's or Android tablets. I was skeptical at first, but decided to give it a try and I'm glad I did. ~GREAT PRICE ~Fast ~Great Screen resolution ~Great sound ~Responsive ~Alexa is kind of awesome ~Great Battery Life. ~The OS. The operating system is simple, responsive, and beautifully done. Everything is easy to find and it's really easy to navigate. Overall this is a fantastic tablet and worth so much more than the price. I LOVE IT!

Noticeable upgrade from the Kindle Fire 7 performance wise. Screen looks a decent amount bigger as well. If you use a lot of apps, definitely go with the biggest size you can get for internal storage, given all apps use at least a little internal storage (even if you have an SD card that you transfer some of their data to.) Only downside is it's Amazon and their app offerings just don't compare to those of standard Android tablets or iPad's, etc.

Amazon Fire tablets are amazing. The best aspect is their price, but the little detail that prevents it from being perfect is the lack of the Google Play Store. Amazon App Store does a good job, but there are some apps that are still unavailable.

Just got this so not sure of all it does, but I'm familiar with another tablet I've had before. Seems to be easy to use, convenient size, and I like it having the 32gb. My other Apple Tablet only had 16 and it kept crashing, I'm sure this one will work well for me.

Bought it for my 13 year old daughter and so far she really enjoys it. The screen is a nice size especially compared to her cell phone size. The 32GB works well with the expanded memory card we installed of 256GB micro card. The 12 hour battery life has been nice. A very nice overall tablet

I love this Amazon Fire Pad! It works quickly and is very easy to use. I would give it 5 stars, except the applications are somewhat limited. They do have most every app available, but there are a few that are not included in their app store. Not sure if they can be loaded from googleplay, as it hasn't been that important to me.

I love my new Kindle! My other Kindle was 6 years old. Felt it was time for an upgrade. So happy with my decision to do so. I love the clarity & sharpness of color with my new HD 8 Fire Tablet! Glad that I decided to go with the 32 GB. Would highly recommend the upgrade or new purchase. Who needs an ipad when this Kindle does pretty much everything. Can surf the web, check email, my calendar, keep up with Facebook & Linkedin, and ready books.

Very pleased with the product and performance. Easy and fast to download content - such as movies and music. Took on a recent trip and now wished I had bought one sooner - fits right in back pocket of my DSLR camera bag. Only draw back was unexplained power loss - as described by other reviewers. After a day it came right back on - suggest it might be a recharging problem as after a full charge it is working fine again. For the price and content available - great buy.

I got this Black Friday, 2017. The first thing I did was search the internet and read how to install Android alongside Amazon's Fire operating system. It was not too complicated if you follow carefully the rules. The only caveat about the Fire tablet is that it comes with only 1.5gb of RAM. Ideally, 3gb would minimal. Nonetheless, waiting for the Silk and other apps to open takes a few seconds longer, but not too slow to make you want to throw it against a wall. It is basically a large screened cell phone (and yes, you CAN make calls on it, via the Google Voice app, if you have a Google account). Just be sure also to get a case that, when closed, automatically locks the screen. Oh, and did I mention the battery life is still incredible...last days, depending on use.
