This item impressed me by still working with the abuse my daughter had put it through, we got the square trade extended service plan and amazon upgraded to a HD 10 fire prior to expiration, amazon made a tough competitor to the tablets out there.

Lots of glitches, does not load properly, volome controls are not stable raises and lowers automatically.

Battery life is very short for a book reader. It may be average but I need to recharge once or twice as I read an entire book. I have big hands and I am constantly sending the display to unknown places when I adjust my grip.

It didn't hold a charge well, apps were complicated to find. If you have multiple devices your profiles are installed every device. Not enough for storage.

Bought for my child, for the money it is not bad. Comes with a 3 month trial service of kids games and shows. My big issue is how poorly set up it is. Navigating content is terrible. Other than that I don't have many issues with it

I bought this for my wife. She had an outdated kindle I bought her this newer updated one. She loves it. She uses it everyday. She loves to read. Also uses other apps as well. If the wifey is happy, I'm happy.

I am an avid reader so my main reason for this purchase was so I could reduce the number of physical books I have in my home. It's great, easy to see in low light levels and can adjust the size of the font.

the tablet is ok, the apps available are ok but very limited so if you need a basic tablet for a kid get it but if you need to do advance work get something else.

The kindle Fire 8HD is very compatible with AMAZON. The price is DEFINITELY lower than a compatible i pad. I installed a 64 G card so that I have ample storage. Overall, I am extremely satisfied!

I got this tablet for reading and I am very pleased I also purchased the hard case.,i would recommend it to set it on your lap. I will use it for much more games, and on line shopping.

He can read, get games, watch nNetflix, listen to Amazon music. We also purchased a bluetooth keyboard that we synced to the Kindle and he can do homework on it. LOVE the Kindle!

I bought this tablet for my son who is ten instead of a ipad (cost) and he seems to be able to do everything thing he wants on it. Most of his needs are games though....

Bought the tablet for my 4 year old! I am able to have two profiles one for him one for me. Tons of book choices from Amazon and a kids zone for him. Overall a great purchase!

Amazon's product have been great so far. Only downside would be that you can't install the Google Play store without going through some hoops, but then again, it's possible.

Love all the ways a parent can limit the Childs profile so kids are not on the device forever and so they are not getting into junk from the Internet . Great product!

She even lets me play on it sometimes! I like the blue light dimmer so if I let her watch tv when she lays down to go to sleep at night she goes to sleep faster.

Purchased for my mom to upgrade her from the original fire tablet that she's used for many years. It's a gift, after her fire tablet was having some mechanical issues, I figured it was fixing to be unusable. I managed to clean it up a bit and after purchasing the new one, found out the old one was doing better. I haven't yet given it to her but she loves her fire so I have no doubt when she does get it, it'll do everything she wants and more and she'll love it. She takes hers now, with her everywhere.

I love to use this for books when I'm on the go and for textbooks I don't plan on keeping. It also works great to use the internet and to use many apps.

I bought this for the wife to read and surf the net on. She really likes it and uses it daily. Good job amazon and good price Best Buy. Got it for a mother's day sale.

Had a 7# that died after 5 years. Since I also watch movies, wanted to upgrade to the dolby sound system. So far, so good. Like the idea of being able to add a SD card.
