I used to have the very first kindle. I loved it! However it was super outdated. My fiancé decided to get me the kindle fire. It's seriously a life changer. It's easy to use and you can customize and make it your own. I love it.

I've had a Kindle since they have been around and I've loved every one that I have had. The Kindle Fire is no exception and adds the advantages of a tablet. Most of the apps are great and accessing the internet is a breeze. I am concerned that it will not play music that is in a file format for Windows or Itunes. My only other complaint was the salesperson who sold me the Fire. He obviously was in a hurry to make the sale and get rid of me, almost to the point of being rude. He wouldn't (or couldn't) explain the features of the Fire and because of that I am still learning what it cannot do. I'm not sure that I will ever know all the things that it can do.

This is better than my last Kindle. It has everything I want and more with games, books, movies, camera, weather, e-mail , calculator and many free apps. I love my kindle!

This tablet is the perfect size for the average user. I didn't want the 10 inch as that would seem bulky to me. Screen is BEAUTIFUL!! The images are crisp and clear. Response time to touching the screen is instantaneously.

I found the Fire a bit difficult to get set up, but it is easy to use once you get it working. I use it primarily for reading books, but also use it for email and Facebook.

Much better than the Samsung Galaxy Tab 3 7" I had previously. Apps available at Amazon are OK. So is the speed. What I like most is the possibility of renting a video to watch offline (limited by available memory).

likes: bigger size, background lighting better, color is good. dislikes: all the intro ads (just keep coming at you), needs a lot of pressure re screen swipes to kill those ads, still has very small capacity to change fonts and margins (and what's there isn't much), they still haven't developed a kindle cover that's any good. if you use it to watch movies etc. I'm sure it's probably fine. I use it wholly for reading and in that context it's a little bit better than the old B&W kindle I guess - for over twice the price, of course. would I recommend to a friend? if they are a reader - oh, OK, why not....

It was simple to,set up and start using it to surf the web and use it to email friends. I was able to load a couple of apps that allowed me to watch a movie or read a book. Very happy with the purchase

There's no argument that this device is a great choice in lieu of an iPad or standard Android tablet for most people, especially given the price point. The one thing that will stop most people though is that there still are some apps that aren't available on Fire tablets despite the fact that they are based on Android. If Amazon gets this fleshed out better then it's going to be hard to argue against these. Also, these come with "Special Offers", which are just ads on the lock screen. You can purchase an upgrade for $15 to remove that feature.

I had an old Kindle Fire and wanted the newer version and one that was larger. I have always liked my Kindle products and was not disappointed in this one. Great tablet for the money.

Love my Kindle 8!! My only problem is after less than a month I ran out of memory. Will have to buy more of course, but will inquire with the BB staff on how to install it.

Very good for the price, but a little limited if compared to other more expensive ones. The Amazon services allow to rent a movie to watch offline, what is great for travelling.

I bought this tablet as a gift and it was well received. Great size and screen, very clear with good battery life. Exactly as advertised. Would definitely buy again.

I have always loved the Kindles and this has a larger screen, I wish it had longer battery life. But still great product.

Very good tablet for the price. Kindle has excellent support from Amazon. Have several Kindle products and all are good.

This is our second Kindle Fire.....has great very nice upgrades, and is faster than the Fire of old. No issues of getting on the web anywhere with it either

I bought the Fire HD 8 for my girlfriend as an upgrade to the Kindle Fire HD 7, and she loves it. She mainly uses it to read books, so the fact that it is so lightweight is a great benefit. The resolution on the screen is fantastic, and it's a large enough screen to comfortably watch movies and TV shows. The only drawback would be the plastic body. I would much rather have a tougher material.
