We have 6 foster children and these budget friendly tablets help with learning. You can set time limits and playing hours. There is a parent app that controls what they can access. Only drawback is you can only set 4 profiles but the workaround is using the same profile on more than one tablet. The information for apps and games is only saved on the tablet that it is opened on. I recommend getting a screen protector and kid proof case.

I LOVE my Kindle Fire. I bought it primarily for reading ebooks and Kindle's paperwhite technology makes it easier on the eyes than reading on a phone or tablet.
I added an after market strap and it's even more enjoyable now.
It's lighter than my old Kindle Fire and just as good, of not better on color and graphics. I'm so glad I purchased mine.

The screen is good the color and size is nice. When viewing some movies it's good. For reading it's good. The bad thing is it drains the battery fast. You can watch at least one movie without having to charge it but that's about it. Even if you sideload Google Playstore you still cannot get a lot of things. For example,Mario Kart cannot be downloaded even if you sideload Google Playstore. You can't download Viki Rakuten and I'm sure there are many more apps that can't be downloaded. It has some games that are okay and the color is nice. Though you have to put it on the highest brightness setting in order to see movies and Youtube properly. I did sideload the Youtube because if you use the regular one that comes on the device you can't watch Youtube movies on it. Only with the sideload Youtube you can. Reading on it is very comfortable, I have several bible apps on it for studying and it's good for it. I do have Amazon Kids subscription and my son borrows it for kids games and he seems to like it. The speakers and sound is not really good on some videos. Some websites take forever to load, like Best Buy. I would only suggest to buy it when it's on sale.

Great tablet and value for the money. Highly functional and accessible to your favorite apps and streaming services. Screen could be brighter with more vivid detail but an excellent option verses the more expensive tablets. Would definitely recommend! FIRE.

One of the better bang for buck tablets you can get. Its decently spec'd, 6 core CPU, 3GB of RAM for the 32GB version. FireOS 8.3.x isn't current to Android OS and Amazon's Appstore is more limited than Google Play, but its hard to beat a 65-75 dollar price tag. Battery life is excellent and the tablet is great for reading & streaming. Display is decent, though only 1200x800. Not the greatest resolution but acceptable for something in this price range.

You've captured exactly what we aimed for with this tablet - delivering solid performance and great battery life at an accessible price point. While we acknowledge the trade-offs you mentioned regarding FireOS and resolution, we're glad you feel the overall value proposition makes sense.

I bought this for my mother who was in desperate need of an upgrade. What made me choose this product over the other competitors was because of different reasons. 1.) Price: the price is unmatched and for what you get, you cant really complain. 2.) Battery Life: my mother watches shows/movies throughout the day, and becasue of the amazing battery life she only really needs to charge it every other day. 3.) Reliable/Sturdy: unlike other fragile tablets out there, i really like how this product feels and holds up to drops. Of course we have a case on it to extend the life of the tablet, but i just like the build better than the other options out there. 4.) Simplicity: its not the flashiest tablet out there, but it does what we need it to do. My mother can easily navigate through her tablet with ease and has no problems figure out how to use the other benefits it offers. Overall im very please with this purchase and i will most definitely be upgrading my daughters soon to another one down the road.

Loving this new tablet’s long battery life and quick page-loading. Not in love with the added size and weight over my older Fire 7. The 7 was definitely more convenient to pack for travel and easier and less tiring to hold. But I needed the extra storage space and the updated programming (plus rumors are that the 7 will be discontinued), so the 8 it is. Hopefully I’ll get used to the size and weight before long.

Was looking at Kindles with my wife when we found this gem for $65 which is about half price of the cheapest kindle we could find so we decided to get this instead. In all honesty she is very pleased with it. While the battery life is obviously less than the kindle, it is a much more capable device. Also she can of course still access her Kindle Unlimited on it so really she just ended up with a more capable device for less money. Very satisfied.
I’m not going to dock them a star for this since she said it doesn’t bother her and we both got a laugh from it, but the Lock Screen on this device serves as a permanent advertisement for products on Amazon unless you pay a one time fee to get rid of it.

I love this tablet. I bought it on discount with ads but ended up removing ads after the first month. From the compact size to the blue light for reading this is the tablet for every reader.

After upgrading from an old model the Kindle has very much made a huge upgrade in this product. I am able to use it just as I use my phone with apps, reading and streaming music, movies, and live TV. Definitely recommend for all ages.
